It was the most awaited day of the month, the launch of the fashion brand at The Lavish. Alex and Cathy reached the twelfth floor, they were welcomed by a lady named Nadia. In her 40s, Nadia is the brand manager of the luxury products whose launch will be happening today.
"Hi there," Alex gave Nadia a firm handshake, and then proceeded to an introduction. "This is Catherine over here," "Hello," Nadia greeted with a sweet smile. "Hi Nadia, I'm Catherine, on duty" and the ladies gave an exchange of smiles. Alex continued, "She will be in charge of the launch, so if there is anything you may need in relation to this event, please reach out to her." pointing to Cathy. "Will sure do, thanks Alex." Nadia said in reply. "So, Cathy, shall we go to work?" "Yes," Cathy replied in a confident manner. But just before she walked away into the backstage, Alex grabbed her arm and spoke softly to her right ear. "This is your chance, prove yourself" and waved goodbye, then left.
Cathy then went to the backstage, had a meeting with Nadia and the rest of the team. There were several ladies, as the products were women's apparel and shoes. Cathy and the rest of her staff were assisting us the models, they helped them change outfits, while some were assisting guests such as other fashion models, designers, photographers and celebrities who have been invited to the launch.
There were around fifty models, all from different races across the globe. They were Caucasian, Asian, African, Indian and women who had mixed nationalities.
The launch started at seven in the evening and ended at eleven, almost midnight. The famous model Stephanie Fox had a final walk with the world renowned fashion designer Carlos Vianilla. The audience gave a standing ovation, and it is very obvious that Cathy did not expect her first assignment to go well.
"Woohoo! What a great night!" Nadia came back to the backstage and gave Cathy a warm hug. "Thank you, dear," she said as she touched Cathy by the arms. "I did what I had to do. Thanks to you and your team." Just as they were thanking each other, the lead designer Carlos came in, with Stephanie who is holding a bouquet. "Hey everyone," Carlos greeted. "This launch is amazing," said Stephanie in her French accent. "I love the setting of the stage, the theme was there and the lighting was amazing" she continued. "Plus" Carlos interrupted, "It really felt like summer. The set up was so good. Congratulations!" he gave Cathy a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek.
"Ladies, hey!" Andrew came into the scene from behind them. "We are going to an after party!" Everyone in the backstage is happy, some are jumping, others are taking selfies as the event has been very successful. "Cathy went to Andrew and asked," Andrew, am I invited?" "Well, you're not," he was trying to tease her, but quickly made her smile. "Because you do not need an invitation. You're part of the team, remember?" "Everybody, let's go!" a highly energetic Carlos is asking his team to leave the launch and head straight to the after party. There were shuttle buses to take them to the party venue, but then Andrew told Cathy that she will not be joining them this time. "Cathy, you stay here." "What do you mean?" She was so confused as she looked at him straight in the eyes trying to get some clue. "I thought..." He did not need to interrupt her talking because a luxury car stopped right in front of them, which was about four meters away from the parked shuttle buses. The glass window of the car was pulled down, and from where they stand, Cathy was able to see clearly who was driving. And it was Jon.
"Sir," said Andrew as he stepped forward, getting closer to the car. "Here she is," he continued.
It was so quiet since they left the hotel, and Jon was trying to think of a way to break the ice. "How was it?" "The launch? Oh yeah, of course." Cathy was obviously nervous as she held her round bag which she has placed on top of her thighs. "It was great! The team was so helpful, and positive. Everyone did their job well," she was still speaking when he interrupted. "Are you trying to hide or cover anything?" He had noticed that she had covered her thighs with her bag. The bag was a rose colored shoulder bag which was round and made of rattan. It is originally brown, but there were crocheted pieces around it that made it look in a shade of rose. Cathy was wearing a pink one, it did not have sleeves but she opted to wear a white jacket which is down to about two inches below her butt. "No," she quickly said in reply. "I thought you're trying to cover your legs," he said jokingly. He continues to drive while Cathy seems to be offended. She raised an eyebrow, and said "I don't have t
As Stephanie handed over a drink to Jon, his phone suddenly rang. "Hey, Viv," Stephanie knew it was a lady who called up, so she whispered on Jon's left ear. "Work is over, it's time to celebrate" he looked at her but continued to speak to Vivian on the other line. "Have you got some news?" he took a few steps as she answered, "I've spoken with some of your security personnel, but they did advise that there are several things to look into," she was about to laugh when she said this, holding her jewelry box which is now empty. "No worries, Viv. I'll make sure this gets handled for you. I am so sorry," Jon was sincerely apologetic, but Vivian smiled with a fierce look in her eyes. "I am worried, if they took my jewelry, it will be fine. Just that they took the necklace you gave me." she touched her neck and the necklace that she is wearing. It was gold, with a heart shaped pendant. Jon gave it to Vivian on her nineteenth birthday, along with a huge teddy bear which he bought in Milan,
Hours have passed and the team had a great night. It was already past four in the morning, and the club's administrator has already advised that they will be closing at five. Stephanie and her ladies already have left, heading towards the hotel where they are about to stay for another day. "You okay?" Jon asked Cathy. She nods at him and smiles. "I'll take you home", Alex said to her but Jon interrupted the two. "I shall take you both home" "But sir," Alex knows there is a shuttle service waiting outside to pick them up from the club, and drop them off at the hotel. "We'll take a cab home from the hotel," said Cathy. "We shall be alright." "No, I insist." Jon looked at Alex, who waved goodbye to the two. "See you on the work day, Cathy, Sir." "I'll make sure she gets home safe," Jon said and headed on to his car with Cathy. Alex went on to the bus, along with the other hotel staff who happened to be assigned in the same event. As the sun rises in the city,
In the midst of her thoughts, she felt an arm wrapped around her shoulder. "She's going to be fine." It was Jon, his eyes had turned red with tears which he tried to keep from falling,he stretched his right arm to her right shoulder and held her left hand with his. He almost hugged her, making her feel secure. She lifted her head and looked at him to her left, their eyes met and Jon removed his right hand from her right shoulder, using it to wipe the tears that fell from her eyes. "I do not know sir," she said softly, trying to pull back the tears. Jon replied in an instant, "How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me sir when we're not at work?" He was trying to make the mood a bit lighter, while keeping his calm. Cathy finally managed to smile, and as she did, a doctor meets them. Jon removed his hands from her, facing the doctor who just came out from the emergency room. Cathy stood up, " How is she?" she asked. "Jennifer had suffered some head injuries, she ha
It was such a mess to be waking up with the front door open. Luke Martin woke up from the sofa in the living area, and he did not notice that he had left the door open when he got in. He walked to the door and closed it, then got back to the sofa. Sitting down, he searched for his mobile phone which he found in the left front pocket of his black leather pants. He quickly got up, walked to the door and closed it. He went back to the sofa and sat, checking his phone for notifications. "She has been trying to reach me for hours," he said as he dialled back the number, a shout came from the other line. "What the hell is going on?" The woman shouted at Luke, and as he felt the sound of her voice he immediately lifted his arm, moving the phone away from his face. After he placed it back, Luke calmly apologized. "I'm sorry Vivian, I was trying to.." she cut him off, "Trying to what, Luke? You shouldn’t have attacked her.. What if you got caught?" He laughed a bit, "but I didn't. And

Jon offered Cathy to stay in the penthouse for her safety, but she insisted on staying in their home. The night was hotter than usual, and she cannot seem to be in the mood for sleep. Apart from the fear of knowing that the security footage has been deleted, the feeling of being guarded by at least ten men, roaming around her property made her feel uneasy. Her mom is still in the hospital, and it may take another three days before she could get home. Jon has provided all the security personnel to make sure they both are safe, and he swore to her that he is going to take care of everything. She recalled him saying, "We are going to find out who did this, and why," he opened the door for her, kissed her cheek and closed the door after she got in. Jon has asked his chauffeur to take Cathy home before heading to the penthouse, leaving ten men to make sure that no harm shall come to her the whole night. As Cathy recalled it, she felt shy, and her cheeks turned red. She looked at the ceil
