Eliana and I kept our conversations to a minimum throughout the day.

We were currently at the park. The kids played tag around us while both Eliana and I sat on the grass, looking at them. She didn’t say a word as she wrapped her arms around her knees, hugging her body.

Her words played back in my mind and despite me not acting on them, I did know what she sacrificed for my sake “mummy! Daddy! Come play with us”

Ayla tried grabbing her mom to stand, but I was surprised when Eliana took her hand and kissed her palm “mum is a little tired, baby girl. I’ll just watch you here”

Ayla studied Eliana’s expression for a few seconds before nodding. She looked at me, her eyes hopeful making me smile. I got up from the ground despite the heavy heart I had, and went to play with them. However, my eyes and mind were with my wife who was wiping her eyes from the tears that escaped them.

Her and I have had our fights and arguments as husband and wife, but never did I become as aggress
