I sat on the floor of my cell, feeling hopeless about escaping. The security in the dungeon was strict, with guards closely monitoring our every move. Their expressions were cold and filled with animosity towards us as if we had committed an unforgivable offense. I couldn't understand why we were being held captive by that lunatic.

After a few minutes, three guards entered the dungeon and unlocked all the cages, releasing us. I rushed towards Sia, hoping to stand by her side. I reached out to examine her bruises, but she pulled away and looked at me, her face scrunched in disgust.

"Stay away from me, Camila. I want nothing to do with you anymore," she said, distancing herself from me.

"We should stick together and get out of here," I insisted, moving closer to her.

She scoffed and rolled her eyes. "I would trade your life for my safety without hesitation. I don't care if you live or die," she said, her eyes filled with hatred as she walked away from me.

ALPHA ZEDEXI stared at him, wondering why he was kneeling with his head bowed so low. If my memory served me right, he only assumed this posture when he felt guilty of something. But for the past few years, he had performed his duties flawlessly. So why was he suddenly kneeling and had his head bowed lower than usual?“Mogan, what is the meaning of this? Why are you kneeling?” I demanded, clasping my hands behind my back.He was silent for a minute, hesitating to speak. However, he knew better than to keep me waiting and finally decided to talk.“I have followed you all these years, and you have showered me with nothing but your grace. You never treated me as anything less, which is why this betrayal cuts so deeply into my soul,” he whispered. His once bold and confident tone melted into a cracked, trembling whisper.I tilted my head, trying to grasp the meaning of his words, but I only grew more confused. He continued, “I am not kneeling to gain empathy or to cover my wrongs. Alpha Zedex“Step back!” I growled at Lan, while his eyes flickered in fear between Tyla and me. He looked so tense, sweat forming on his forehead—like he was hiding something deep from me, like he didn’t want me to know a secret. However, I wondered what was making him so scared. Ever since he was a kid, he had always been the closest to me and open with me. I guessed things had changed, but I’d never imagined it would be this bad.I let out a heavy sigh and averted my gaze back to Tyla, who was trembling in tears. “Speak! I’m all ears,” I commanded, and went to sit on my bed.Tyla hesitated for a moment, then raised her gaze to spare Lan a glance. I noticed how he slowly shook his head at her, but Tyla scoffed loudly and moved her eyes away from him. Her face hardened with determination to spill the truth.“Lan has committed so many atrocities behind your back, Alpha,” Tyla began. My heart gave a loud bang.“All his hostility toward you worsened the moment Max rebelled and left the

Alpha Zedex POVI appeared in my chamber. No one was there. I must have arrived before the others.I sat down, drumming my fingers impatiently on the armrest of my seat, and I waited for them. I could have summoned them to wait in the pack meeting hall. However, the full member council would have been present, so I dismissed that idea. This needed to be handled as a private family matter—a chance to discipline Lan myself.Grandpa was the first to walk in, his eyes darting around, looking tense. The moment his gaze landed on me, it softened. He approached and sat beside me.“What has he done?” Grandpa asked, his voice laced with concern. He knew I loved Lan the most. Everyone in the pack knew; it was obvious because I acted differently around him, granted his requests, and always overlooked his wrongdoings. But this?He had crossed the line!“You’ll find out when he arrives,” I said coldly, without sparing him a glance. He noticed it without being told. Grandpa knew me best. He felt i

CAMILA‘Oh no…’ My gaze darted around nervously, looking for a solution or some way out. It was clearly obvious there was no way out of this cave.I might have pushed him so far as to conclude this, but deep down, I regret it so much because I can't take away even half of Max's pain from his wounded hand. However, the thoughts still lingered. How did he know?Lan walked towards me, hands tucked in his robe. He bent over, gazing at my face. I quickly lowered my gaze. But as if he could read my thoughts, his hands grabbed my jaw, trying to raise it. I moved my head away, refusing to look at him. Yet he roughly forced my gaze back to his.The corner of his lips curled slightly, his eyes narrowing. "I suppose you were wondering how I got the information?" He winked, scoffed, then released my jaw. He paced back and forth, his fingers clenched into fists at his sides, veins threatening to pop from his skin. "Even Alpha Zedex tried to hide it from me? Unbelievable!" He muttered through gri

Camila P.O.VTyla shook her head violently. “I-I can’t—”Lan stalked towards her like a predator closing in on prey. Tyla scrambled backwards on the ground until her back hit the rocky wall, visibly her hands were shaking.Lan loomed over her. “You can’t what?” His voice was low and dangerous, nowhere near Alpha Zedex’s tone when he was mad, but I guess Tyla knew what Lan was capable of.“I can’t kill my fellow Omega. I'm sorry,” she cried, shaking her head in refusal.‘Finally, she has a conscience. At some point, I thought she’d lost it because of Lan.’Lan scoffed loudly, rolling his eyes. “But I thought you wanted to prove your point… why the change of heart?” he muttered coldly.Tyla burst into tears. “That was because... after giving it much thought minutes ago, I recalled that I didn’t poison all the streamed buns,” her voice cracked as she confessed, lowering her head.“What?” He exclaimed, “So it was a 50/50 chance?” Lan’s jaw dropped as he instantly let out a short laugh of

Camila POVTears clouded my eyes, but I refrained from letting them stream down my chin. Otherwise, I would ruin everything and wouldn’t get to hear the rest of their secrets. However, I couldn’t deny how terrible I felt hearing them either. I just wished I had been unconscious, but at the same time, I’m glad her plan didn’t go through. I’m so happy I survived.Suddenly, something clicked in my mind,‘ How did I survive the poison buns?’ My thoughts were jumbled. First, it was the foggy miasma at Full Mountain Pack, which didn’t affect me at all, and now the same applied to the poisoned steamed bun. ‘What is really happening to me? Amore might know the reason, but how do I get out of here?’ My gaze wandered around the rocky cave, which had no entrance or reflection of light. I averted my gaze to Lan and Tyla.I watched as Tyla struggled to get off the floor, still holding her aching stomach from where Lan had kicked her earlier. A painful moan escaped her lips as she tried to catch her
