LOGINHi EveryoneI wanted to jump on and give you a quick update. First we just experienced a winter storm resulting in power and internet issues. So that has resulted in a delayed update for the end of this week.I also wanted to let you know I am in the process of deciding how to wrap Amelie's story so we can jump into Alexa's story. I am drafting out a couple of ideas to share with my editor and I will hopefully be able to update you before the end of this week with the plan.I will write a couple more chapters for Amelie, but linking it to a new story is taking a bit of time for me to figure out how I want to ensure we get some closer in Amelie's story but also leave an opening for Alexa and Will. I debated continuing Alexa's story in Amelie's but feel like she should get her own story to share what she has been through. As with all my stories there will be ups and downs for the main characters, but the goal is to see them both have a happy ever after. Whether that is together alw
Will POV “What the hell are you rambling about?” I asked, knowing full well I would never share my mate. Nor would I give her up. The female looked at me, considering her words. “We believe we had success in creating matches, or mates, for males at risk,” she summarized. “And how does that affect Alexa?” I questioned. “She was matched with one of our Alpha’s. He has been enhanced,” she replied with a smirk. I considered her words, “Where is he then? Why did he not rescue her?” I inquired, knowing that I would never have left Alexa alone, knowing she was in danger. “He has been held at one of our holding compounds. We want to record their encounter and find out if the female will be attracted to the male,” she said clinically. “The female has a name!” I yelled, as she chuckled. “For me, she is a specimen,” she stated. “After all the years you have been working with these women, you feel nothing for them?” Matt questioned. She slowly turned
Matt POV We raced to get both women back to our Pack hospital. Alexa seemed to be drugged; Amelie was sedated once more after the doctor got to her to medicate her. We were bringing the female researcher with us to question her. We hoped to find out more of the plans moving forward. Will had not let Alexa leave his arms. He was very protective of his newfound mate. I had not had a chance to speak with him to explain the situation. Knowing most wolf matches were made by the Moon Goddess, I was certain Will would be good for Alexa. However, knowing what Alexa would feel about having a mate, was to be seen. We arrived at the hospital and both women were taken to separate rooms for observation. I had stayed with Amelie in case she had woken up. The doctor had assured me she would sleep for some time given the sedation he administered. He also confirmed what he gave her would not harm the pup. Amazingly the pup was still alive. Her
Matt POV We raced through the building, hearing the helicopter approaching. They could not land on the roof; the building was too dilapidated to trust that. So, they had to be taking them through a secret tunnel. How they would be transporting Amelie had me concerned. She was already seriously wounded. How much more could her body take?As we raced through the building, Will yelled for us to stop. He was pointing to a crack in the wall. I moved over to the crack and felt air coming through it. I dug my nails into the crack and tugged. I was shocked when the wall swung open and a tunnel presented itself. It was flat, with a slight decline.“They must have went this way,” I stated, as we cautiously entered the tunnel. It could have been a trap, but we had no choice. We had to take it and hope we would find them. I mind-linked my warriors to be on alert for an exit to where the helicopter might land. I was advised it had not landed yet, which was a positive for u
Alexa POV I could no longer ignore the screams of pain coming from Amelie. I knew Matt was losing it and the only option was for me to enter the building. My legs were still not the strongest, but I progressed far enough that they could not stop me. As soon as I was close enough, I saw the door open and one of the beasts came out to retrieve me. “It is about time you got here,” he muttered as he swept me up into his arms. I did not recognize him, so he was new to the project. That is all I could think of us as – a project – for them to do with as they pleased. “Where is she?” I demanded. The beast simply laughed, “You will find out soon enough,” he promised. As we entered the building there was a distinct smell of rot. I could not imagine this would be a long-term choice for location. It was frankly disgusting. “Take me to her,” I demanded once again as I heard Amelie whimpering in pain. We turned a corner, and Amelie was there on the co
Amelie POV I knew I had been taken from the hospital. The woman had been quiet in her movements. I had not seen her face yet; I was unable to open my eyes, but I could hear and sense everything. I could tell we were moving. I could tell from the scent we passed Matt. My heart had raced as I thought he would find me, but then the scent got further away. I tried reaching him through our mate bond, but I was met with silence. I could not imagine her giving me wolfsbane as it would put the pup in danger, but who knows at this point what she was capable of doing. Anything is possible. I tried to feel my wolf, but she was also silent. She had been ever since the attack. I was grateful she was working to save our pup, but I was scared for her. At what cost to my wolf, would it mean to save our pup. She needed connection with me, and I needed it with her. I hoped as time went on and the pup grew stronger; she would be able to communicate with me
