DominicBri wanted answers, and I knew she did, but I didn’t trust this alpha, who claimed to be her brother. The scent of pack wolfs was evident, but there was something else there. It was like their scent had an over laying scent that would cover their wolf scent once they had left the area. I didn’t like it. Why would a wolf need to cover their scent in such a way? And how would they do that? Bri and I were in the mists of quietly arguing about her safety while speaking to this wolf. She wanted to do it alone, and I didn’t want to leave her alone with any other wolf. Then in walked one of the tallest guys I had ever seen. He was huge and had a large scar that covered one whole side of his face. “Alpha? The witches say their spells will only confuse The Demon Shadows for a few hours. It would be best if we were out of here sooner rather than later.” The Demon Shadows was the one pack all rogues avoided. They didn’t care if you crossed into their borders. If they felt you looked at
BriWith the last couple of days' events, saying I was stressed out would be an understatement. I didn’t mean for my joke to be said out loud, but happily, Dominic got my joke. I pushed my bottom lip out in a pout as I tried not to smile at him. He shook his head at me, still laughing. “Fine.” I pulled my lip back in and looked back to my brother, whom I guess I had. “So what’s the plan then? And what do I call you two?” I resigned myself to just going with the flow at this point. I mean, what more could I do? Ever since the other night, my life has taken a complete turn. I went from being a regular everyday teenage girl to a werewolf with a family she never knew about that was being hunted by some horny crazed pervert that wished to impregnate me. I might as well know the name of the brother I never knew. “Oh, I guess I only introduce myself to grrrr here. I am Alpha Blake Stone, and this here is my Beta Landon Clarkson.” I raised an eyebrow at him and glanced over at Dominic, who s
BriNeither one of us slept through the night. I knew Dominic was awake before I even opened my eyes. I could feel his eyes on me. My back was pressed against his chest, and one of his arms was wrapped around my waist. We were both still naked, not bothering with our clothes after going through the trouble of taking them off in the first place. Dominic had pulled a thin blanket over us before we fell asleep, but that might as well not even be over us anymore. It had been kicked off our feet and pushed down at some point, so it only covered a small portion of us. Turning my head, I peeked at him from under my eyelashes. "I should start charging you a fee every time I catch you staring at me. I could be a rich woman by the end of the week." A large smile pulled at his lips as he chuckled. "A fee I would gladly pay if it meant I could continue to stare." Rolling my eyes at him, I shook my head. "You would." He nodded, "I would." Carefully I rolled around, so I was facing him. "Dominic?"
Dominic Bri's wolf was fierce, that was for sure. But with her not ever being trained, I feared for her. Thankfully, she was this pack's alpha's sister, which would hopefully mean they would spare her if a fight did happen. Alpha Stone, at least, had been near enough to hear his uncle's threats and came and intervened. I was more than capable of holding my own against the older man, but if I had to fight him and keep her from trying to fight him simultaneously, I wasn't sure I could do both. Once the older man was out of the room, it was easy to switch over to taking care of her. Her body shook as her wolf continued to try and take control. She did well at controlling it, but she was still new to her wolf. She hadn't had her whole life of training and readying herself for this. Only having shifted two days ago, she was doing good with her control, but some wolves took a week or two to tame their wolf enough to have control over them. But like most things that had been thrown at her t
BriI continued to draw while Dominic and Blake talked. I know I should probably be more involved in my future, but to be honest, I was new to this world, and I trusted Dominic with my life. I know, as a human, that sounds crazy. I hardly knew him, but as a wolf, that was completely normal. I knew in my gut he would never harm me, and I trusted that feeling. Besides, my apparent brother had no plans to split the two of us up, and as long as we stayed together, I was okay with whatever was decided. It was true I had no idea how to protect myself, and it would feel nice to be able to know a few things. The silence that followed their conversation was pleasant. At least until the silence ended abruptly about an hour later. During that whole time, Dominic simply watched me draw. He never once got annoyed that that was what I was doing. He never once pulled the pencil from my hand to question what I was drawing and why. He didn't get angry that I hadn't paid attention to the conversation
Dominic Somehow The Demon Shadows found us before we could get too far. As much as I wished we could have gotten Bri farther away, it would be nice to get this over with so we wouldn't have to look over our shoulders. With the knowledge that someone was with Bri that could help protect her, I could focus on the matter at hand and get rid of the man who wished to claim my mate as his. We collided with the other pack, and I was sure it looked like a scene from a movie. The Demon Shadows were strong. I will give them that. But everyone has a weakness. It was just a matter of finding it. Wolves shifted just before they collided with one another. The once quiet cabin was now filled with the defining sounds of bones breaking, teeth snapping, deep snarling growls, and wolves howling in pain. Knowing Bri was safely hidden inside meant I could focus and not worry about her. It didn't go unnoticed that once The Demon Shadows attacked, their alpha ducked back into the woods. He was still close.
BriOnce the fighting started, it felt like time slowed down all together. The fighting seemed to go on forever. I lost track of where Dominic was. I searched the screens hoping to find him. I had to know he was ok. But it was like he had disappeared altogether. And then I saw him being carried out of the trees. He was thrown over Landon's shoulder like a sack of potatoes. In front of him was Blake caring another still body. This one was not being carried so nicely and looked like his throat had been ripped out. The fighting stopped. All eyes were on them. Blake threw the body he had been carrying onto the ground. Every member of The Demon Shadows fell to the ground submissively. "Those of you that wish to continue to follow Cain may stay and meet the same fate as your Alpha. The rest of you better pray to the moon goddess. I never see your faces again." As Blake spoke, Landon moved around him and headed for the house. Angel and I moved together as we headed for the door. I wanted to
BlakeLeaving Bri alone with her mate, it was time to start planning for the future. The pack has been on the move for way too long now. It was time we settled down again. Time we claim land for ourselves. It was time for my pack to begin growing again. I would be able to remove my orders for no new pups to be born. I hated giving those orders. I hated following my own orders on the subject. But we couldn’t chance the loss of any more pups. I couldn’t hear another mother’s wails when her pup was killed during an attack. It was time for the pack to get back to being a pack again. It was time to decide our futures.Along with figuring out the pack, I needed to figure out what was next for Bri. There would be no joining the pack without her mate. And I knew from the years of my pack being on the run that chances of that were slim. Dominic’s experiences with packs will not have been good ones. I would have to find a way to convince him that my pack was different somehow. That and I could
