A Wolf For Two

ELOISE-I had done it. I had truly committed the one crime I had promised not to. The glow in his eyes had begun to fade, his strokes vanishing like they never existed. His twitching lips, which he had used to let out such a beautiful smile, were now stained with blood. “Why Eloise?” He muttered. I shrieked, staggering back as I gazed at my work of art. It was remarkable but filled with nothing but pain and a touch of blood. The knife had done it all, ripping his broad chest and cutting the ligaments in his muscles; death was inevitable at this point. He began to let out short, rapid breaths, the knife piercing more and more through his skin as it pondered closer to his heart. I knelt before him, my hands trembling before me as I realized what I had done. … I had killed an Alpha, the leader of a pack. “I hope you have a good reason for doing this, Eloise.” He gasped, his legs trembling as the knife pondered deep. “I’m sorry.” Tears rolled down my eyes as I watched him bleed.

ELOISE- I lay there, my heart a shattered piece and my body a log of wood. There was nothing left for me; I had become the useless Omega they had always seen me as. “Guards, grab her.” I didn’t flinch; it was worthless. Maids bowing before me everywhere I went, my name imprinted boldly in my room, and a large queen-sized bed waiting for me to come rest up on. My life had changed for good. Money, which has always been my affliction, had become my companion. Respect affirmed at every angle, and there I was, my dreams of living a happy life coming in with higher hopes and possibilities. The Installation ceremony took place two days after my settlement, and I coursed through the ritual like it was my daily routine. It had almost come to an end when the title of Beta was treated; I couldn’t become an Alpha without having a beta; that was the tradition. “Theodore Hills, you’re now the beta of the Lycan princess. Your duty is to guide and protect her till her duty as Lycan princess or supposed Lycan queen comes to an end.” The priestess had stamped her staff on the floor, sealing the bond betwee
