The school bus rounded up at 6 Gavin Avenue, a large field of white daisies with large clay pots holding nothing but the wishes of tourists and locals.

The Screenwriting school had carefully chosen this spot. They were particular about it. It was supposed to inspire them for an entry into the school’s fourth annual contest.

“Can this inspire anyone?” Gloria asked, the petite young woman with large spectacles would have passed for the quiet, timid one in the group, but Gloria was far from reserved. She was outspoken, voicing her opinions and perspectives whether you liked it or not.

As talkative as she was, she was also the observant one. Her attention to detail was commendable and just like every other day, despite the number of people trooping into the daisy field, amidst the noises, she was the first to notice that Hannah hadn’t said a word all day.

Instead, she repeatedly glanced at her phone, like she was expecting a call any minute, unfortunately, all day, her phone didn’t ri

Julian’s shoes hit the floor with sharp, angry steps as he stormed toward the door. His face was hard, his jaw clenched, and every muscle in his body tight with disappointment. He didn’t even look at Hannah as he yanked the door open. He didn’t really know why she was angry or why he was. But just as he stepped outside, he paused, and slowly turned back. His hand still on the doorknob, and fixed his eyes on her—cold, warning, unforgiving.“I hope you know what you’re doing, Hannah.” He said. His voice was low, but every word cut like glass.“I wouldn’t want to see you get burned twice. You may think Ethan’s changed… but he’s still the same man who broke you before. Don’t forget that.”And with that, he was gone. The door shut behind him, and Hannah felt like the floor had been pulled from under her.She stood there for a moment, frozen, breathing too fast. Her heart pounded against her ribs like it was trying to escape. She slowly slid down to the kitchen floor, pulling her knees to h

The morning sun had barely broken through the clouds when Hannah heard the knock on her front door. She was in the kitchen, still in her robe, stirring a half-eaten bowl of cereal while her thoughts ran wild. She wasn’t ready for anyone. Especially not him.But then the knock came again, louder this time. Reluctantly, she stood up and walked towards it, opening the door slowly to find Julian standing there with his hands shoved in his coat pockets, with a soft smile, his eyes sharp and unreadable.“Julian,” she breathed, surprised.“What are you doing here?”“Morning,” he said, coolly. “You disappeared last night, so I thought I should come check in on you.”She stepped aside and let him in, hesitantly. “Yeah, I wasn’t feeling well.” Hannah said, walking back inside. He looked around the house, like he was searching for something—or someone. “Funny,” he muttered. “You looked fine the last time I saw you. Then poof, gone. Almost like you disappeared.” He paused, and then added, “You kn

The first light of morning slipped through the blinds, brushing against Hannah’s bare shoulder. She blinked awake and for a moment, everything felt just like every other morning. But then, she suddenly felt a strange warmth beside her before she even turned her head.Just then, her memories reeled back and her hands flew to her mouth as she saw him there — Ethan. He was still asleep, lying on his side, one arm resting across the sheets where she’d been curled up moments ago. His hair was tousled, and his face, in sleep, looked peaceful—almost like the man she first fell in love with, but that only made it worse.‘No, no, no!” She panicked and clutched her chest like a fist. Then she sat up slowly, heart pounding, barely breathing. The room was still, but in a way that screamed everything had changed. For a moment, she hoped this was just a dream. That she hadn’t slept with Ethan, but then she glanced down and could see clothes scattered, and memories of last night painted across the f

The city felt different at night, but finally, it seemed like the night was about to pick up. Then night air was cold and lights shimmered like stars across the streets. Ethan and Hannah stepped out of the event building, laughing and swaying through the street. They were both a little breathless as their hearts were still racing from their moment on the terrace and the buzz of the party.“Wanna get out of here?” Ethan asked quietly.Hannah looked at him, her expression unreadable for a second. Then she nodded. “Yeah. Let’s go somewhere… quiet. My head feels like it’s about to explode right now.”A short car ride later, they arrived at a quiet bar downtown and made their way to the rooftop. It wasn’t flashy or loud, the only sound there was just the hum of good music, soft lighting, and a clear view of the sky. They found a booth near the edge, away from the crowd. Just then, a waitress approached them and Ethan ordered them a round—something simple. Whiskey for him, wine for her. Wh

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   The Tension Room

The ScreenGuild dinner was in full swing. The room was filled with laughter right from the moment Hannah walked in. They echoed under gold chandeliers, with soft music guiding the conversations, and clinking glasses marked every corner of the room.Hannah stood near the grand staircase, dressed in a midnight blue gown that hugged her gently and shimmered under the lights. Her hair was pinned back in soft waves, and her lips held just enough color to match the night’s elegance. She looked beautiful, even though she didn’t feel it. At least not completely. It wasn’t like the first time she walked into a ScreenGuild event. That night she felt powerful, full of hope and confidence. Tonight, though—tonight she felt… unsure and unsteady.Maybe it was the way Julian kept his hand too long on her back. Or the way he introduced her to every person with a little too much pride, like she was some sort of prize. Maybe it was because her relationship with Ethan was still rocky.“Everyone, this is

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   Her Side of the Bed

Hannah lay on her side of the bed that morning, curled under the covers, staring at the empty space where Ethan used to sleep. The pillow beside her still held a faint scent of his cologne, something woody and warm that made her chest tighten. She hated how much she missed him. She hated how her mind kept playing memories like a movie on repeat. Their late-night talks. Him laughing in the kitchen while trying to cook pasta. That time they both fell asleep watching a movie, legs tangled together on the couch. Little things—now haunting. She reached for her phone out of habit, about to call him… but stopped. What would she even say? That she missed him? That she regretted how they left things? No. She wasn’t ready for that. Maybe she never would be.Just then, her phone buzzed in her hand. She looked up and saw it was Julian, and so hesitated. She hadn’t spoken to him much since the tension at the pediatric appointment. It had been awkward. But tonight, she didn’t have the energy to ove
