The mansion came into view as Chiara drove down the driveway which encircled a water fountain. She parked her car in the driveway and walked towards the main entrance door. The mansion was a three storey building with about thirty rooms in total. It had fifteen bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, three guest bathrooms, a library, a study which Leonardo used as his office, a family room, two living rooms, a kitchen, dining room, a gym, basement, a theater room, two laundry rooms and wine cellar. It also had an indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool, the garage and servants quarters were in another building, west of the mansion. The compound was enclosed by a rather tall fence and it was highly secured, there were fifteen men guarding the house, inside and outside. The interior of the mansion had a modern design and it was lovely. It was a Friday and Leonardo had called to remind her of the dinner. Her parents held a dinner once every month which she was mandated to attend. H
Later that night, Chiara unlocked the door to her house and walked in. Xavier came out of the living room to see her, he looked worried. "Where were you?" He asked. "You have no right to ask me questions like that." She walked away from him and headed to her bedroom. "Oh really?" He followed her up the stairs. "So, you could not call and tell me you were going to be late." "You don't have a cellphone." She entered her room and was about to shut the door when Xavier walked in. "I'm sure you could have figured something out, if you wanted to." She shrugged her jacket off and turned to face him. "Yeah, if I wanted to." His expression of anger suddenly morphed to concern and he moved closer to her. "Are you okay?" She did not understand the reason for his sudden change in mood. "Yeah, why do you ask?" "Because you have blood all over your top.
Leonardo stormed into her office the following afternoon. She was in the Manager's office for Tempo libero hotel, one of their many hotels when Leonardo barged in. Richard, the manager immediately left the office, leaving Chiara alone with her furious father. "You just cost me a deal." He spoke in a calm voice but his body was radiating a lot of anger. "Which deal?" She returned to checking the files on the table as she spoke. "The new hotel in Las Vegas." "What happened?" She asked even though she already guessed what went wrong. "Mr. Brown pulled out of the deal and he is currently out of the country to have a dick reconstruction surgery or whatever the fuck he called it." Mr. Brown was the owner of a private bank and a hedge fund company, he was a very rich man with many successful investments. She raised her head and stared at him. She did not need to read him to know he was amused and angry at her. "I will fix it
Marcos unlocked the door to Chiara's house and entered. He checked the living room and kitchen but she was not there. "Chiara!" He shouted her name as he went up the stairs. Xavier ran out to meet him at the top of the stairs. He was shirtless and his sweatpants hung low on his waist. "She is not around." He said. Marcos was infuriated by Xavier's lack of clothing. "Is this the way you parade yourself around the house when she is around?" "That is none of your business." Xavier replied. Marcos moved closer to him to intimidate him. They were the same height but Marcos was bulkier than Xavier and he had a dangerous aura about him. He placed his hand on Xavier's shoulder and squeezed it in a punishing way. Xavier grabbed his hand and removed it forcefully. Marcos stepped back from him, leaving space between them so he could control his anger. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. 'I need a drink.' He said in
They were having a celebratory dinner and Leonardo was hosting it. They were in a private dining room in one of their restaurants, Leonardo had reserved the whole room and only the waiting staff were around. The Coscarellis, Nicolettis and Marianos were present for the dinner. The long rectangular table was large enough to hold ten people but only nine people were sitted. Leonardo sat down at one end of the table with Elvera on his right hand side and Chiara on his left hand, while Carlos sat down on the other end with his wife on his right hand side and his nephew on his left hand. Marcos was sitting beside his father, Amedeo, who was sitted next to Elvera and Adrian sat down next to Chiara. "Please, let us eat." Leonardo said and everyone started eating. The food was passed around as everyone enjoyed the feast in silence. After the meal, dessert was served and conversation started around the table. Adrian tried engaging Chiara in a discussion about her fas
Leonardo ordered his bodyguards to take Elvera home and he told his driver to take him to Chiara's house. He needed to resolve the situation and clear things up. He spent the time on the drive thinking about what he was going to tell his wife, how he was going to explain the whole arrangement to her. He groaned and let his head fall into his hands. When they arrived at Chiara's house, the security guard came out to check the car. When he saw Leonardo in the backseat, he greeted him, then opened the gate and allowed them inside. His driver parked the car in the driveway in front of the main entrance. Her bodyguards greeted him as he stepped out of the car and he nodded at them. He walked towards the main entrance and inputted the code and his fingerprint to unlock the door. "Chiara!" He shouted her name immediately he entered the house. "Chiara!" He walked towards the staircase and waited for her at the foot. "Are you calm now?" H
Adrian was brooding silently in the backseat of the limousine. He was riding with his dad so he could have a conversation with him, while his driver followed them with his Bentley. He had quietly endured the annoying dinner with the Marianos all night and he had restrained himself from causing a war between both families. He was angry by the whole arrangement, but even more offended by Chiara's attitude. He was not ready to get married, least of all to someone who did not want to marry him. He was still young, just twenty five years old and he was living his life to the fullest. The last thing he wanted was a marriage, he had always thought he was going to get married at the age of thirty six, after he had enjoyed most of what life had to offer. He was not ready for the responsibility and limitations of marriage, he wanted to live his life freely as a bachelor. "I guess the marriage is not happening." He said in a lackadaisical manner. "It has been settled, you are getting married."
Chiara was working in her office when her dad walked in. He sat down on one of the chairs before her desk. "Why are you here?" She continued working on her laptop and she did not look up. "How is your hand?" "Bruised, but I do not believe you came here just to check on my hand." "We have unfinished business to discuss." "I am certain I made myself pretty clear. You know where I stand on the matter." He closed her laptop and she sighed. She leaned back on her chair and looked at him. "What is wrong with you?" "A lot of things, but you know that already." He groaned and ran his long fingers through his hair. "Why are you being stubborn?" He asked her. "I am stubborn. You of all people should know that." "Why are you acting this way?" "What way?" She smiled at the frustrat
