You should get in while I'm being nice

||Arlington Arlington||

The day seems to break faster than user, I sighed repeated as I get out of bed. I just hope today should not hold any drama. For the past two days, things have not be really good with me. I quickly do my daily routine and dressed up for work.

"Good morning, mom." I greeted my mom who's already at the table with a smile.

"Good morning, sweetheart." she returned the smile. "You look stressed out, why?"

"Nothing mom, just that work these days are demanding. But no to worry, I'll manage just fine." I replied curtly.

"Sure. I know you a strong girl but if things are getting out of hand, do let me know." She said, concern laced in her voice.

"Hmm..." I gave her a nod and had my breakfast in a hurry. "Good bye, mom."

I kissed her goodbye on her cheek.

"Be safe at work alright?"

"I'll, mom..."

Trailing down the street, few meters before the next bus stop where I'm suppose to board a cab, a car halt beside me. I decided to ignore the car but the car owner honked to attract my attention.

I stopped but maintained few feet from the car.

"Hop in, you shouldn't be trekking this early." That voice... Well, its hard for me to tell cause the car owner was putting on hood over his head and a pair of sunshade, with his attention directed on the wheel.

"What...?" I scoffs at his statement.

"You should get in while I'm being nice." The voice was surprisingly cold but I know who it was.

Hardie.

I smiled and made a turn to hop in. "Thanks." I muttered after closing the car's door. He pretended not to hear or maybe he ignored me, whatever, that's his own cup of tea though.

Its seems like ages after the awkward silence, he voiced.

"Did you sleep well...?"

"Huh, yes I did." I nodded curtly. "And you, did you?"

Again, he didn't give a reply. I gave out a short sigh.

This guy...

||Hardie Madison||

I watched as she get down from my car, her face was different today. Like she's in a good mood but here I am, in a terrible mood.

"Even if you are not gon' reply, I'll still say this." She smiled, wryly. "Thanks for the ride and do have a nice day."

With that she ran into the restaurant without giving me a second look. I sighed at her behavior, she did not even wait to see if I'll reply her or not.

Weird!

......

Just with a glance, the guy before me knows what I wanted to hear.

"We managed to capture one of them, he's currently in the torture room. Lincoln is there with him." He Rushed his words.

"Hmm..."

I trailed slowly down to the torture room, not even a sound could be heard from the room. Why?

Yeah, the room is soundproof.

"He's stubborn or maybe trying to be faithful." Lincoln said immediately I entered the room.

I snickered. "Faithful, huh? He isn't faithful to his maker but to some hypocrite who is using him, tsk?"

"I don't get you, Hardie." Lincoln creased his brows in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"Yeah." I said. "He isn't faithful, he is working according to his pay."

"His pay, yeah?" Lincoln scoffs. "Who loose their lives for money this days?"

"The pussy face here do." I answered.

"Well..." Lincoln huffed.

I squat down before the guy, tied to the chair. His face is swollen and he got several burns around his body, clearly Lincoln didn't show this guy any mercy. Well, I don't believe in violence more though but I feel no pity for this guy sitting here. Yeah, I mean he was sent to burn down my warehouse with goods that cost millions of dollar.

"What's your name?" I asked in the most calmed voice I could muster.

||Grayson Grayson||

I watched as he squat before me with no expression on his face. I was forced to believe this isn't Hardie rumored in all the states.

"What's your name?" His voice was calm, yet he isn't wearing any expression.

I spat out blood on his face. "Fu.ck you..." I groaned.

"What the ..." The guy who I guess was Lincoln growled but Hardie put up his left palm to stop him.

He let out a sardonic laugh as he wiped the blood from his face. "I see, you won't bulge easily, will you?"

I scoffs at him.

"Tell me, how much were you paid to burn down my warehouse? I'm doubling the amount if you are willing to comply with me." He was putting on a serious look.

"You expect me to just rat my boss out to you, really?" I twitched my nose at him.

"The bag." Hardie gnawed and almost the same second, a huge bag was dropped down before me.

Hardie bent down to open the bag and I could swear on my life, the dollars in there could feed a thousand family for hundred years. Greed kicked in as my weak eyes twitched in delight. Man, if I can lay my hands on this, I'm leaving the states as possible as I can but then...

My mother and Sister...

No, I can't. They gon' loose their lives in the process and my boss will be sure to hunt me down.

"I don't need your fu.cking money, I won't rat my boss out to you. Let it sink in your loose brain." I gritted my teeth.

"I swear on my life to offer you this fortune and help you escape, if only you are willing to comply." Hardie was more serious than death himself. His voice hold sincerity but I just can't give in.

"Fine, do whatever you want with me but not ratting him out." I spat out.

"Waste him..." With that he turned his back and walked out.

I watch in distress and pain as the gun is pointing towards my skull and in the next second, bullet flew toward me and then I was loosing my breathe.

I only hope my family are safe as I breathe in my last...
