Chapter 6

“I don’t want to be a monster, I’ll fight in my human form!” Raven was angry.

She was tired and sweaty from practicing self-defense on the training field all day

It wasn’t hard for her, but the hard part was that she needed to accept the fact, she was a monster, well, at least she saw herself like that.

Dana, in another hand, didn’t.

She saw Raven as someone special and truly brave and kindhearted, but it wasn’t something she could tell her, no.

Raven needed to understand that herself, but the first step was acceptance.

“I understand that my dear, but in your vampire form you are much more flexible and stronger”, Dana was telling her, calmly.

“Let’s try with Peter, shall we?” She raised her hand and a strong, tall man was there in no time.

He was black-haired, with dark bloody eyes, and very muscular, not to mention that he was the strongest warrior they had.

He was pissed at spoiled Raven, as he saw her, and ready to destroy her.

All vampires were fast, they had excellent speed, which made them more dangerous for other species.

He was behind Raven in a second and started choking her, to death.

His fangs were out, he wanted to bite her soft skin to make her bleed.

She felt it, and let him show his strength, to see how big that strength was.

Her knees were weak and she was losing breath, but she still didn’t want to use her vampire help in her.

She was strong enough.

Strong hit him with her elbow and threw him into a tree, where he stayed, unconscious.

Her eyes were still purple, but darker, with a small red circle around her pupils.

That look in her eyes gave Dana a smile of satisfaction.

She was content and stunned, at the same time, but she couldn’t tell Raven, not yet.

Draven needed to see this, to see her, because she was one in a million.

She was the right one for him.

“Well, I suppose that’s ll for today”, Dana said calmly.

“But, you do understand that the time will come when you’ll need to use your vamp skills?“, she was serious.

“I hope that day won’t come quickly”, Raven answered her, feeling suddenly strange.

Something familiar was near, making her restless and calm, at the same time.

She looked at the balcony of a castle and saw blue eyes that were persecuting her from that night, and later, in her dreams.

She closed her eyes in fear. It was a cold day but she felt hot all over her body.

Dana saw it too, and she knew what that was.

They were too close to each other, and it was time for them to meet.

What would come later, she couldn’t know, but she hoped that it would be as it should.

When Raven looked in the same direction again, there was no one there.

“Shit, I need a break”, she said and left in a hurry, leaving Dana more satisfied than ever.

“Don’t forget that an important event is tonight”, she yelled for her to hear, but she already knew.

Maybe that was why she was nervous so much, because of all the people,..., vampires that would be there.

Not to mention a king, he was supposed to come tonight for the event, and she must meet him.

Like she needed to thank him for what she has become, in hell, maybe.

The anger inside her tormented her heart and soul too much.

She felt that there was no place that she belonged to, no more.

That was a sad part, because she belonged right there, and she just didn’t know it yet.

The small, blond girl that was in the room, surprised her, but Raven didn’t show that.

he stayed calm, knowing that the girl was a vampire too.

It was the first time someone besides Dana was there.

The girl talked first, and it could be seen that she was nervous and frightened.

“I’m sorry my queen, but tonight I’m here with your dinner and also to help you prepare for the ball.”

“I’m also a queen’s Dana maid, and person of confidant, so you don’t need to be woryed”, she said in one breath.

Raven smiled at her.

She took the plate from the girl and started to eat, looking at the white dress on the bed.

There was lace lingerie, with silver shoes with heels on the floor.

Everything is simple and yet beautiful.

“There’s no need for fear”, she said to the girl.

“What’s your name?” Raven asked her.

“Selma, my queen”, she was smiling a bit.

“I’m not your queen Selma”, she said with a smile, starting to prepare herself for a shower.

“Oh, but you are, queen Dana said it, so it is true, and I must call you the same”, Selma answered her.

2How old are you?“Raven asked her.

“I’m 17 my queen, for almost 900 years now”, Selma answered calmly, which left Raven stunned.

“The queen saved me from death and took me as her own.”

“I owe her my life, and I found my beloved too”, Selma laughed, shyly.

Raven was looking at the girl trying to see something that she was missing, something she could understand, but her head started to hurt.

She felt there was something unexplainable to her, but she couldn’t tell what that was.

The dress was made of satin, with no sleeves, cut aside, exposing her beautiful, slim legs, while her back had a big v-cut, all the way to her butt, and faithfully followed her beautiful body structure.

Her makeup and hair were perfect, she just couldn’t recognize herself in the mirror.

“You are too beautiful, my queen”, Selma commented.

“I thought we agreed to call me Raven”, she said.

“When we alone, my queen?” Selma asked.

“I don’t see anyone her, beside us now”, Raven laughed.

“Oh, right”, Selma laughed also, which gave Raven warmth in her heart, because she knew there was someone, with whom she could be herself, without pretending or expectation, just a friend.

“Raven, you look stunning, a king will be without words”, Selma said, leaving Raven confused.
