Disappointment and rage grew inside me when I looked into his eyes. I started to shake, and yet, I found the strength to ask what was bothering me. “Is Beka your true mate?” I asked, even though I tortured myself with it. He didn’t answer and wasn’t needed to. Something that day, when I traveled to the castle, led me to turn from my path in another direction.
