Chapter 1

After my Alpha slept with someone else, he promised me it was just an accident.

Three months later, he was flaunting the pregnant woman  in my face, trying to force me to accept the child.

But I was already planning my revenge.

"Sophia, I have to tell you something."

Sebastian's voice was heavy, cutting through the celebratory roar of the pack's full moon gathering. He pulled me toward the terrace, away from the dancing and howling pack members.

I watched the hard line of his jaw, and my heart began to hammer against my ribs. "What happened?"

"At the full moon ritual last night," he paused, taking a deep breath. "A rival pack spiked my drink with a Moon Frenzy draught. I lost control."

Moon Frenzy. I’d heard of it—a dark concoction that could make an Alpha completely lose his mind under the full moon, amplifying his most primal, wolfish desires to their absolute peak.

"What does 'lost control' mean?" My voice was calmer than I felt.

"I slept with Elena."

The words were a silver dagger twisting in my chest. Elena—the Omega who was always fawning over Sebastian, the one I never considered a threat.

"It was an accident, Sophia." Sebastian grabbed my hands, his voice urgent. "I was drugged. I didn't even know what I was doing. And I've already used my family's influence to bury it. This stays between us. No one else will ever know."

I looked into his green eyes. There was guilt, fear, and a flicker of something I couldn’t place… relief?

"Are you sure no one else knows?"

"No one," he said, too quickly. "I promise, this won't affect our bond."

I chose to believe him. After all, our mate bond was blessed by the Moon Goddess herself—sacred and unbreakable. One mistake shouldn't destroy everything we had built.

"Okay," I nodded slowly. "We'll pretend it never happened."

Sebastian’s shoulders sagged in relief. He rested his head against my chest. "Thank you, Sophia. I knew you'd understand."

But in the three months that followed, everything changed. Sebastian grew distant, always buried in pack business. The mind link between us grew fainter, as if he were deliberately building a wall between us.

Until that afternoon, when I got the emergency call.

"Luna Sophia, the Alpha's been attacked," his Beta’s panicked voice crackled through the phone. "Mercenaries have surrounded the pack headquarters, and we have casualties."

I raced to the pack's private hospital wing. The hallway was a chaotic mix of antiseptic and blood, with medical staff rushing past in a blur.

"Where's Sebastian?" I demanded, grabbing a passing nurse by the arm.

"VIP room, but—"

I didn't wait for her to finish. I burst through the door, and in that single moment, my world imploded.

Sebastian was sitting by the bed, holding Elena's hand. His other hand was resting gently on the slight swell of her belly.

More than that, I could feel the pup's nascent life force radiating from her womb—and I knew, without a shred of doubt, it was his.

"Sophia!" Sebastian shot to his feet, his face a mask of panic. "How did you—"

"She's pregnant," I said, my voice terrifyingly calm. "Three months."

Elena's eyes fluttered open. She gave me a fleeting, smug smile before instantly twisting her face into a mask of pain.

"It's not what you think," Sebastian explained hurriedly. "Elena was badly injured saving my life. I was using my Alpha power to heal her, our energies mingled and—"

"And what?" I cut him off. "And you slept with her again?"

Suddenly, Elena struggled to sit up before sliding from the bed to kneel weakly on the floor. "Luna Sophia, please forgive me! But the pup... the pup is innocent! He will be the strongest Alpha heir this pack has ever known!"

The strongest Alpha heir. The words were a slow-acting poison seeping into my veins. This was why Sebastian had been pushing me away—because I couldn't give him a strong heir, but she could.

"Sebastian," I looked him straight in the eye. "I'm giving you a choice."

His body tensed. "What choice?"

"Either you banish her from our lands forever," my voice was a blade in the quiet room, "or we sever our bond."

The grand hall of the Bloodstone Pack was filled to capacity.I stood on the dais, facing representatives from every major pack in the alliance, including a shell-shocked envoy from the Crescent Moon Pack. I knew Sebastian was watching from a feed somewhere, his silver eyes locked on me, filled with a desperate disbelief."To all who bear witness," my voice rang out, clear and steady. "I, the woman once known as Sophia Ashford, am here today to formally declare that name, and the bond with Alpha Sebastian of the Crescent Moon Pack, was a shackle I am now free from."A wave of murmurs swept through the hall."Today, I shed the shadows of a painful past and choose where I truly belong." I turned and offered my hand to Lucas. "I declare that I will join the Bloodstone Pack as the lifelong mate of Alpha Lucas, and I will be known from this day forward as Sophia of Bloodstone."Lucas strode onto the dais and placed his hand in mine, his smile as flawless as the plan we had orchestrated."Se

The ancient, neutral castle was ablaze with lights for the annual Alpha Summit, a crucial event for political maneuvering among the packs.I stood by Lucas's side, dressed in a blood-red power suit that clung to my frame, the obsidian crest of the Bloodstone Pack pinned to my lapel.I had imagined what it would be like to see Sebastian again. I expected him to be his usual arrogant self, greeting me with a sneer and a cold remark.I never expected him to look so broken."Sophia!"I turned to see Sebastian shoving his way through the crowd of powerful Alphas, completely forgetting decorum, forgetting the dozens of eyes watching his every move.He looked haggard, his usually immaculate appearance in shambles. His eyes were shot with blood, and his entire being radiated a desperate madness. But my resolve was a wall of ice."Sophia!" His voice was thick with raw emotion. " I've been looking for you for three days and three nights. I thought... I thought I'd never see you again!"He lunged

The night in the Crescent Moon Pack was cold. Sebastian stood alone on the highest stone ledge of the territory, staring into the dark forest. The wind carried the scent of pine, but the familiar figure who would have draped a coat over his shoulders was gone."Alpha, about next month's hunting schedule…" a young pack member approached, holding a stack of files.Sebastian turned, a flicker of irritation in his eyes. "Have Mark, my Beta, handle it.""But Mark said it requires your personal approval…""Then postpone it!" Sebastian's voice was sharp with an authority that sent the young wolf stumbling backward. It had been like this for two weeks. Since Sophia left, the entire pack's operations had started to falter. The duties Sophia had managed so effortlessly were now piled on his desk, and worse, murmurs of dissent were spreading through the pack."If the Alpha hadn't been so cruel, why would Sophia have left?""She gave so much to this pack, and for what?""Without Sophia, even the b

The man took me to a secluded manor that looked more like an ancient fortress, all dark stone and towering spires, surrounded by a dense, mist-shrouded forest. It was a world away from the cold, modern architecture of the Crescent Moon Pack."Welcome to Bloodstone Territory," he said, turning to face me with an elegant grace. "I am Lucas, Alpha of the Bloodstone Pack."The Bloodstone Pack—Sebastian's sworn rivals. I remembered hearing the name at pack summits, whispered in tones of respect and fear. They were an ancient, powerful, and mysterious pack, known for their unyielding strength."Why did you save me?" I asked, my voice weak.Instead of answering, Lucas summoned his pack's shaman—an old woman with a face like carved oak, wearing a bone mask."Let me see the child," the shaman said, her rough hand touching my forehead. A violet, magical light flowed from her fingertips into me. After a long moment, she gasped."Alpha, she's been poisoned with 'Silverdust Tears'.""What?" Lucas's

I stood frozen, my mind blank, watching the horror unfold. Then, a brutal force struck my cheek.Marcus's claws left three deep, bleeding gashes across my face, the impact sending me stumbling backward into a wall."Poison! The wine is poisoned!" a healer shouted after rushing to check the child. "This pup has been poisoned!"Every eye in the room fixed on me, the hatred and rage so thick I could barely breathe."Kill her!""The demon witch!""She tried to murder the heirs!"Roars and curses came from all directions. I lay on the ground, watching Sebastian cradle his dying child, his face a mask of pure agony. He turned and looked at me, and his eyes... he looked at me like I was the embodiment of all evil."Why..." his voice trembled with heartbreak and disbelief. "Sophia, why would you do this?"I wanted to explain, to scream that I did nothing, that Marcus gave me the wine, that I had no idea it was poisoned. But he had already turned, rushing with the child toward the infirmary.I

The next day, just as I stepped out of the West Tower, my phone rang. It was the company."Ms. Sophia, given that you've submitted a petition to sever your blood bond, the Council has decided to revoke all your positions and privileges at the corporation. Please come in today to complete the paperwork."It seemed the Council was just as eager to find Sebastian a more useful mate.I paused for a moment. "I'll be right there."The third floor of the pack's administrative hall. My old office was now a hollowed-out shell."Luna... Ms. Ashford," the woman from the pack's administrative office corrected herself, her voice cold. She pushed a form across the desk. "Please sign here to confirm you've collected all personal belongings."I looked at the paper. It listed, in dense print, every title that had been stripped from me: Vice Director of Strategic Planning, Investment Committee Member, Board Advisor... Every position I had earned, every accomplishment I had been so proud of, was now just
