Chapter Eighteen: After the Fire

POV: Elias Voss

Elias woke before the sun.

He always did.

Routine had been his religion long before ambition became his currency.

But this morning, the rhythm was off.

He wasn’t alone.

Warm skin brushed his side. A soft exhale, the faintest shift of breath against his shoulder. Noah slept curled half on his chest, lips slightly parted, one hand tucked between them like they’d always slept like this.

Elias stared at the ceiling.

He didn’t move.

He couldn’t.

The air between them was quiet, but it wasn’t empty.

Last night hadn’t been a mistake.

It had been inevitable.

And last night...

Elias could still feel the sound Noah made when he came apart in his arms. Could still taste the sweat on his skin, the tremble in his voice, the

Chapter Thirty-Two: Don’t Mistake Me for the Weak LinkPOV: NoahHe was still sore. That perfect, aching soreness in his thighs, his throat, his spine. The kind that lingered like a secret. Like a signature.Every stretch reminded him of Elias.Of teeth scraping his collarbone.Of that final thrust.Of the way Elias had whispered, "Let them watch. But only I get to touch."Noah sipped his coffee slowly, one leg crossed over the other, dressed in a crisp navy suit that hugged his body in all the right places. There was a hickey behind his ear — dark, deliberate, almost artful. He left it uncovered.Let them look.Let them guess.Let them wonder what it felt like to be ruined and remade by a man like Elias Voss — and still walk into a boardroom like you owned the air.---The board meeting was at 9 a.m. sharp.Elias wasn’t attending. By design.> “You don’t need me to shield you,” he’d said that morning, tracing his fingers across Noah’s bruised ribs.“They think you’re soft. Let them b

  • His Cold CEO   What They Stole From Us

Chapter Thirty-One: What They Stole From UsEliasThey wanted shame.Whoever leaked that video wanted whispers and mockery. They wanted Noah to crumble.Instead?Elias watched Noah walk into their penthouse — jaw tight, eyes molten — and say the words that broke him wide open:> “Turn the camera on. But this time… we choose what they see.”Not for them. Not for revenge. For control. For claiming. For them.Elias didn’t hesitate. He set the camera on the tripod. Adjusted the frame. Then turned to Noah, who was already pulling off his shirt — slow and deliberate, like a striptease he owned. The red light blinked to life.---NoahThe second the lens clicked on, he was electric.Nervous, sure. But beneath it, something deeper.Defiance. Need. Permission.Elias stalked toward him like he’d been caged all day.He grabbed Noah by the jaw, tilting his face up. “You sure?”Noah’s voice was breathless. “I want them out of my head.”“Then let me give you something else to remember.”---The fir

Chapter Thirty: I Don’t Know How To Be Soft Without YouPOV: Elias VossThe office was dark. Not dim.Dark.No overhead lights. No desk lamp. Just the glow from the city beyond the glass walls — skyscrapers blinking, the horizon burning orange with the last remnants of day.Elias stood at the window, his shirt unbuttoned at the collar, sleeves still rolled from the interview. His tie was gone.So was his calm.---He’d been holding it together for days.Through boardroom sabotage.Through the leak.Through the press storm.Through the live interview. And through Noah’s voice in the mic, saying I love him, like it was the simplest truth in the world. But now?Now the silence pressed in.Now there were messages from three major investors threatening to pull out.An anonymous employee report filed against him for “inappropriate entanglement.”A brutal op-ed in The Journal calling Noah his “PR Achilles heel.”And none of that mattered. Not really. What mattered was this:He was terrified.

Chapter Twenty-Nine: Put My Name In Your MouthPOV: Split — Noah & EliasNoahHe sat in the passenger seat of the town car, staring at the studio building like it was a guillotine.Sleek. Stark. Brutal. The tall black-glass facade was mirrored, but he could still see the silhouettes of paparazzi pacing outside the entrance, lenses glinting like sniper scopes in the midday sun. A woman in stilettos shouted something at their car window. Someone else held a homemade sign that read BEDROOM BOARDROOM in block letters.Noah clenched his hands into fists. They were damp with sweat. His shirt stuck to his spine. He felt like a lamb headed to slaughter, and the worst part? He’d volunteered.Beside him, Elias hadn’t spoken in a full minute. That wasn’t new. But this silence felt loaded. A coil of tension between them, pulled tight but warm. Finally, Elias’s voice broke through the quiet.“You don’t have to do this,” he said. Not cold. Not commanding. Gentle, in that rare way he only ever was w

Chapter Twenty-Eight: The Thing I Never WantedPOV: Noah HartHe never thought his name would trend. Not like this. Not because someone recorded him standing up for himself in a room full of vultures. Not because of one off-script sentence. Not because of who he was sleeping with. But there it was.#NoahHart#SleepingHisWayUp#CEOScandal#PrettyBoyVoss---Noah sat at his desk, eyes locked on his screen. The grainy still image. His face. The quote.“If I weren’t sleeping with him, would I be in this room right now?”He wanted to throw up.---He barely registered the knock at his office door. Didn’t speak when it opened.Elias stepped in.No tie. Sleeves rolled. And for once, no armor.Just a man.Noah looked up at him, broken open.“Is it true?” he asked.Elias stilled. “Is what true?”“That I only have value because I’m yours.”---Silence.The worst kind. Then Elias crossed the room slowly, like approaching something fragile. He sat on the edge of the desk, not touching Noah yet.“

No witness. No warning. That wasn’t oversight. That was intent. That was threat. And now, Elias Voss would show them what happened to people who made mistakes like that.---At 10:04 a.m., he walked into the executive boardroom. No invitation. No announcement.Just presence.Madeline looked up first. Then Bernard.Rajen, late to turn, adjusted his tie like it might save him.Elias didn’t sit. Didn’t speak.
