Somehow, a group of students had snuck alcohol into the estate grounds.

Long story short, they've gotten drunk. Wasted, more like, and made an absolute mess in one of the bathrooms. Mrs. Perez was in charge of the party outside, so she called me and asked me if I could deal with them, as they were my classmates and would only listen to me.

They were too drunk to stay any longer. Fortunately, none of them seemed to have gotten alcohol poisoning, as they were seasoned drinkers.

Adam wasn’t taking my calls.I tried again and again, but every time it said that his phone was out of reach. And it started ever since I told him the bad news. In fact, right in the middle of it. I didn’t even notice that the call had been cut halfway through. I’d been ranting about…I didn’t even remember what exactly, for a good minute before realizing that there wasn’t a sound coming from the other side. The call had long since ended.I couldn’t believe it at first. Had he ended the call? No, that wasn’t possible. Maybe he ran out of credit.I tried calling him back, but there wasn’t a reply.I started to panic right there in the clinic, and my mind just jumped to the worst conclusions.Had he cut the call deliberately after hearing that I was pregnant? That’s what scumbag Alphas did, didn’t they? They got innocent Omegas in the family way and then dumped them, leaving them to take care of the baby on their own. Raising a baby wasn't as fun as fucking them, obviously, so why would

“What the actual hell?” I muttered, looking at my phone screen, which had gone dead. “I swear there was some battery life left in here.”“Everything okay, Young Master?” Leroy, the driver, asked as he approached me, holding a bag and a cup of coffee in his other hand. “You look a little bit stressed over there.”“My phone frickin died in the middle of a call,” I muttered, trying to turn it on. “But it had about forty percent battery left, I don’t understand this.”“The guy at the gas station said phones tend to act a little weird around these parts as we’re in the mountains,” Leroy said. “Even my own one doesn’t have any signals whatsoever.”I huffed, putting it back in my pocket. “I had signal though; I was in the middle of a phone call.”“Was it an important one?” Leroy inquired. “If you remember the contact number, I saw a payphone over there inside the gas station. Maybe you can use it?”“That’s a great idea! You got any change with you?”“Yeah,” Leroy plucked some quarters from h

“Revon?” The nurse calls out, coming out from the doctor’s office, holding a clipboard. “Revon Hawthorne?”I stood up, glad that there weren’t any other people in the reception area. The nurse was loud.“That’s me,” I said, ducking my head under the hoodie and walking towards her.The nurse smiled politely and practiced. “The doctor will meet you now.”I nodded and followed her into the doctor’s office. The Beta doctor in the office smiled at me as I entered, and it looked more genuine than the nurse’s, instantly making me feel at peace.“Mr. Hawthorne, hi! My name is Abby Sharpe, and I will be your doctor today. Please take a seat and tell me what brings you here.”She didn’t show any signs of recognition. I wasn’t famous or anything, but my surname was known in medical circles thanks to my father.“Um, hi, you can call me Revon,” I replied, taking a seat. “And well…”I took out the pregnancy test sticks from my pockets and placed them in front of her. Dr. Sharpe’s expression did not

It was four in the evening, and I’d gotten a text from Adam saying his family’s private jet had just landed at the airport closest to his grandmother’s estate. They were on their way to the estate, which was a three-hour drive away from the airport. He promised to update me when he got there. I read the text again. You should reply, my brain said. Don’t make him worry.Tell him the truth, my heart said. He needs to know.I listened to neither and put my phone face down on the ground, right next to the white stick I'd just ripped out from its packaging.I stared straight ahead. Maybe I was overreacting. I’ve always taken my birth control deliberately, never missed a day. So, there was no chance of this happening to me, right?I was just seeing things because I was paranoid. This secret relationship was getting into my head. But Eaton’s words kept ringing in my ears.“Handsome Alpha…no protection…you catch my drift?”My hands shivered as I took the little white stick.I would know for

Why was he asking me about the Homecoming Dance all of a sudden? It was hell of a way to steer the conversation from his Nana's death. “Nothing much,” I replied with a shrug. “Avery wants to go with the whole group because all of us are single, allegedly.”“Oh. So, you guys are dead set on this?”I shrugged again. “Well, we still have to actually talk about it as a group, but what else will we do? Besides, Avery’s the one who really wants to attend. I’m just whatever.”“Right,” Adam nodded, and strangely enough, he looked nervous. “So, I was wondering…”He trailed off, and I raised a brow.“Wondering what?”He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. I stared at him, confused. What was he so nervous about?“I was wondering if you were willing to accompany me to the dance as my date.”For a moment, the whole world stopped. I wondered if my ears were failing, if I was hearing things. I gaped at Adam, those words repeating in my brain. A tsunami of emotions clashed against the barriers o

“Oh, Adam, I’m so sorry,” I said, walking closer to him. I wanted to touch him, hug him, just do something to give him comfort, but he looked wound up so tight that I didn’t dare touch him.So, I just stayed close by.“You might be so confused by now,” he whispered, studiously looking down at his own shoes. “Have you ever heard me talk about her?”“I haven’t,” I admitted, leaning against the wall so I could look up at the sky.It was a nice day today, so at odds with what we were going through.“But then again, we haven’t known each other for too long.”“Yeah,” he muttered. “I don’t know if I would’ve talked about her, even if we were. She’s just…a sensitive subject in our family.”My curiosity piqued, but I didn’t dare ask.“Judging by your reaction to the news, I can tell that no matter what, you loved her.”“I did,” he nodded. “It’s just…God!”He blinked rapidly, as if he was trying to hold back tears, and my caution broke.I turned to him and took him in my arms. He clung to me, h
