Chapter 99

J's POV

I knelt there wondering what would become of me because neither of them was saying a word to each other. They were communicating with their eyes, and after some minutes, I heard Lance say,

“Let her go, and I might spare you,”

“You mean her?” Jonathan asked, “I'm no fool, Lance. The only reason I am still alive now is because she is under my threat. If I let her go, you won't think twice than to kill me”

“You're wrong and you're right. You're right because no matter what, I'll still kill you, I mean I've been thirty for your blood since I realized you were the one she met with before the accident. But you're also wrong” he finally turned to meet my gaze.

His eyes held some kind of promise I wasn't so sure about. Did we make any promise to each other, he added,

“You're wrong because it is not because you are with her that I haven't killed you. I just don't want her to get a scratch or have blood on that red beautiful jumpsuit she's putting on”
