The room was warm and dark, just as it always was at night. Clara Rose never liked bright lights because they affected her eyes.Ellie had the money tucked inside the inner pocket of her jacket as she walked into the living room. She looked around, but her mother wasn't there. She must have gone to bed.Ellie walked to her mother's room and opened the door. Her mother's wheelchair was empty beside the bed, and Clara was lying under the bed covers.Ellie slowly walked in and sat on the chair beside the bed. Lena didn't bother to close her room door as she sprinted down the hallway.“Somebody help!” Ellie’s voice echoed through the hall again.Lena stopped abruptly and immediately turned on the light. The jet landed on the tarmac, where his men were already waiting. Kalon stepped out of the jet, and the men immediately lowered their heads. “Take me to Dante Moretti’s house. Now,” he ordered. “Sir, won’t you go home first before heading there?” one of the men asked cautiously. Kalon slowly turned his head toward him. The cold look in his gray eyes was enough to make the man immediately realize he had overstepped. “I’m sorry, Boss,” he quickly apologized. Kalon walked toward the waiting Rolls-Royce and opened the door himself. The driver immediately started the engine, and they pulled away from the tarmac. A few moments later, Kalon’s phone rang. It was Adrian. “Are you there yet, Boss?” “I’m on my way to Dante Moretti’s house.” “Sir!” Adrian exclaimed in shock. “Do you have a problem with that?” Kalon asked. “No, Sir, not at all.
