Alicia’s mind was consumed with thoughts of Damon and what Julie had told her the previous day. She felt torn between wanting to help Damon and remembering how he had denied her before her brother, Fidelis. But she couldn’t bear the thought of him rotting in a cage for something he didn’t do.

At least, Julie said he wasn't.

As the night wore on, she grew more and more restless. Even nature seemed not to have an idea how to help her. She tried to distract herself by reading a book, but her mind kept wandering back to Damon. She knew she had to do something to help him, but she didn’t know what.
