  • His Greatest Regret    Feel Nothing

    25. Feel nothing Abigail walked over to Cara and held her hand. "Honey, you're not the problem, I'm just going to need you to calm down, okay? Remember what we said this morning about you being stressed out.""No Abby, think about it." Cara said amid a sniff. "Romeo is ever so loyal to me, even more loyal than a dog will ever be to its owner! But it's not enough for me because that bitch is still around. "I know he won't cheat on me, I know he's not Chris, I know things are going to be different this time around. But then again, what if it isn't? What if I'm just trusting him blindly? Or what if I'm just doubting him for no fucking reason?!""Enough!" Abigail barked. Cara was surprised by her outburst. It was a second time that same day. Planting her hands on her hips, she let out a soft sigh. "Enough will all the Romeo and Vicky drama for one fucking second! You're not in a very stable condition, your vitals have been way off the chart since I arrived this morning. "If other doc

  • His Greatest Regret    All I want is you

Romeo couldn't stop thinking as he kept looking for Vicky, she was the main reason that his wife was having a hard time. Giovanni's words repeated in his head. He was indeed one of the reasons she was being stressed. He had to do something about it. After finding her at the playground, he stood by her until she was done crying. He promised to remain by her side until she was smiling again, and then he would tell her. Standing opposite her now, he tried not to act too mean or too soft either. "Vicky, we both know what this is doing to you and we both know it's not going to end well." He tried not to make this about his wife but about her instead. If he wasn't willing to step back because of his wife then at least she would be willing to step back for her own sanity. "What do you mean?" Vicky asked with a soft laugh. "We can't become what we once were, we can't become more, there can never be a future for us. We can't even be best friends anymore. You understand this so please do

  • His Greatest Regret    Stop coming closer

Vicky sat at the swing set of the estate's playground. Tears pooled down her face as she stared at the diamond wedding ring snaked around her finger. Those words hit her way more than she would like to admit. Her marriage was a very sensitive topic to touch, she hated thinking about it, she didn't even want to remember that she was married. Yet she wore her ring every single day to remind herself of the terrible mistake that she had made. Who would ever hear her out if she told them what she was truly going through in that home. What would they think about her if they had found out that she had run away? The thought of it weighed heavily on her chest and she felt a tightness there, making it hard to breathe. She felt a figure standing before her and before she could look up, he crouched down on one knee in front of her. Romeo's eyes seemed to glow under the sunlight, the tenderness in his gaze was melting her heart. The way he made her feel made her break out in tears again. She

  • His Greatest Regret    The problem

Cara didn't feel like eating but it was easier to force the food down her throat than to face Abigail and tell her she didn't want to eat. Everyone was gathered around the dining table and they ate without exchanging a single word. A soft cough escaped Cara's lips every single person at the table-- save for Vicky-- raised something in her direction, each of them looking at her with worried expressions. Tori held a glass of water, Romeo held a napkin, Abigail raised her stethoscope. Cara smiled. "I'm fine." She said calmly. Maybe it would be better to be in the hospital after all, she thought to herself. She continued eating but couldn't bring herself to down the food properly anymore. Every single pair of eyes were placed on her, watching her just in case something happened. "Guys I'm going to die from all your stares!" She exclaimed, dropping her fork back into her plate with a soft clatter. "We can't help it," Abigail said. "I'm not going to let anything happen to either of y

  • His Greatest Regret    Over stressed

Cara watched Abigail draw a heavy sigh as she withdrew the stethoscope from her belly and unplugged it from her own ears. Abigail didn't look happy, but she didn't look troubled either. It was a good sign right? Cara wondered. It had to be a good sign. "Is she okay?" Tori asked, her smooth skin creasing from worry. She looked more anxious than Cara. Abigail rose to her feet and turned towards Tori and Romeo who was standing next to his mother. "She's okay.""Thank God." Romeo breathed out heavily. "And the baby?" Tori asked sharply. "She's fine too. They're both fine. But if something like this happens again, I'm afraid both of them aren't going to be fine. It could get worse too, we could lose one or both of them." Tori's eyes widened in shock. She almost collapsed. "What?!"Romeo held his mother. "What exactly happened to her? What led to this so we'll know how to avoid it completely from repeating itself." He somehow managed to keep his voice calm despite the fear that crawle

  • His Greatest Regret    Sudden fatigue

Romeo walked up to his wife and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Good morning my love. Mom came over early to help make breakfast and Vicky decided to tag along. She felt guilty about yesterday and wanted to make things right." Cara eyed Vicky visibly but forced a smile to her face. She was trying but she really couldn't pretend not to hate Vicky. "You look tired and hungry." Tori said to Cara. "I guess I made the right choice after all." Cara had to force a smile on her face. She really hated how she had to be wearing fake smiles in her own matrimonial home. Romeo could read his wife like an open book. He knew she was far from comfortable with having Vicky around and he definitely could not blame her. In fact, he had only himself to blame. He knew the smile on her face was fake and it hurt him to see it. Reaching out, he took his wife's hand and spoke softly. "Babe, come out with me for a second while mom dishes our meal." Cara nodded and followed her husband out

  • His Greatest Regret    Like His Father

Steps unsteady, mind confused. Jessica stumbled home, feeling her legs' reluctance to return home. She could not blame them though could she? It weren't just her legs that did not want to go home but her entire body and mind as well. How could she? She had only recently saved herself from a lifel
