I pulled my hoodie over my head before grabbing my keys and heading outside. This is the first time that I'm going out alone in this town, I always go with my friends, since it's safer that way. I heard a loud shot echoing through the house and my heart started pounding faster in my chest. Where I'm from you never hear gunshots. Maybe once in a while when somebody is trying to show off.
