“They are worse than human scums.”

The plea.

An aching sensation spread throughout Raven's system that made her frown. Coupled with the usual gazes from a few people in the hotel's first floor corridor, she was beginning to feel irritated at their stares and blood continuously dripping out of her fresh wound. A middle-aged woman even asked in goodwill if she needed medical attention, however Raven firmly refused, leaving the woman no room to finish her actions from calling the ambulance.

They were worried, some were confused, while the others started to gossip about the young man who arrived at the hotel with clothes stained with blood. There were also those who were scared of bumping her as she looked suspicious, and the fact that this young fella was covered in blood made them think twice of helping out.

It was a good thing that her room was on an exclusive floor meant for VIPs that restrict others from coming in, hence why Raven can finally sigh in relief as there’s now far less annoying busybodies around.

This was actually a natural occurrence to most people of the hotel that even the guards stationed at the entrance got used to ignoring her whenever she came in in such a state.

Raven never told them the reason as to why she always comes in like that, nor did she bother giving them an excuse, but due to their wild imagination, they reason out that she was involved in a sketchy business that resulted in her being beaten up. Since gang fights are a natural thing around their area, they assumed that she was either one of them, or she got targeted.

They concluded that she was the latter based on her weak appearance. She doesn't seem to be that powerful to be a part of a gang, and since gangsters like bullying the weak, they immediately assumed that she was unfortunate for being targeted on the streets.

Nevertheless they weren't able to ask nor kick out the person since she's one of the VIPs of the hotel that none can easily get hold of. This means she's someone they couldn't afford to offend.

Raven's gaze went down to her bleeding lower right abdomen.

Since she didn't bring any vehicle with her, she walked from the Agency to the hotel by foot. Along the way she was unfortunate to bump into a group of violent teenagers that were busy asking for trouble. Both were equally unfortunate to bump into each other since Raven easily trashed these people. However, her awfully stitched wounds reopened and thus blood gushed out, staining her white cotton hoodie.

So the rumors about her were not that nonsense at all since this time, she was indeed involved in a fight. Albeit the fact that she wasn't really beaten up and is actually the other way around.

Sighing, Raven  pressed the correct number on the safety lock in her apartment. A soft rhythm echoed in the hallway, followed by a loud ding indicating that it was now unlocked.

Raven closed the door behind her with a soft slam before pulling back the hood covering her face. Resulting in a small but sharp and attractive feature of a person to come into view. She has this cold look, with a tint of laziness but sharp eyes that makes her both unapproachable but sexy. Added by the visible cut on her lower lip, she exudes that dangerous aura that most young ladies in this era find extremely attractive. Even if she were to dress up as a man, no one would be able to tell the difference as she can pull both looks.

Her long raven hair fluttered softly when she tried to tie it up in chignon using a pen. Strands of her locks slid down at the side of her face, and if you were to look closely, the quarter-tip of her hair was dyed in blue ombre. Whether it's real or not could only be known by the person herself.

The young woman removed her white converse shoes, kicking them to the side. Not bothering to waste the effort of placing them in the shoe rack which was located just a few meters from her side.

A soft growl broke the silent atmosphere of the room. Only then did Raven realize that she hadn't eaten for two whole days. Aside from the piece of biscuit she snatched from a little kid on the street, she wasn't able to eat a proper meal.

Raven made her way towards the kitchen, unconcerned about the fact of how disastrous her apartment currently is.

Five cups of noodles with used chopsticks were lying at the top of her living room table. Soda cans, junk foods, and crumpled papers were scattered on the marble tiled floor. You could also spot a used bento with some crumbs of chips scattered underneath the sofa. On top of all that mess, are some uncleaned dishes piled up in the sink.

Raven opens the fridge, only to be greeted by an empty space and cold air. Her eyes blinked once in a daze before she slowly closed the fridge. She taps her chin before muttering quietly to herself, "No food for me then."

She sighed, before deciding to go to her room in order to have a good sleep. Her stomach was growling but she didn't have the energy to go outside just to buy food to eat. Although she could use her smartphone for ordering online, her eyelids were beginning to flutter close at the sight of her peaceful bedroom, making it hard for her to even order anything.

In contrast to the state of her apartment's living room, her bedroom was clean and well organized. The style of the room was minimal, where there wasn't even a single picture of anything from anywhere, just some furniture and stuff that is necessary for a person to have.

Facing the door is the terrace. The cream colored matte silk curtain was draped down and prevented any source of light from coming in. Meanwhile, the bed was placed at the right side of the room.

Before going to bed, Raven stood in front of her vanity mirror which was placed at the left side in order to remove her brown contact lenses and make-up.

The brown-colored contact lenses were then replaced by a mysterious ocean blue-color orb that glows notably in the dimmed lighted room. You can spot a tinge of purple hue in them whenever light passes its way across her eyes. Her lashes flattered softly as she blinked thrice, dazely examining her face.

Raven refused to show other people her bare face without any make-up nor a mask. Aside from Mr. Black, no one was able to see what she really looked like. Not because she's ugly, in fact, it's the exact opposite. However, after she had grown up from being clueless and naive, she realized the negative impact her face can cause to her, especially that color of her eyes.

Vysenians are born with natural brown eyes and black hair, with a skin that is neither too light, nor too dark. But due to the foreigners' influences, dying their hair and wearing colored contact lenses are, fortunately, a thing now. This makes it simple for her to explain to others that she is merely wearing contact lenses if they happen to notice the abnormality of her eyes. It doesn't negate the fact that her natural eye color is proof that she isn't a pure Vysenian. It's difficult to tell what half of her blood is made up of because she's not sure whether there is even an eye color that is blue mixed with a tint of purple out there.

She also remembered that one time, when Mr. Black decided to hire a doctor to check her eyes to confirm whether it isn't a disability, the doctor was later on killed by Mr. Black himself when he started crazily rambling on about it being an unnatural and unseen thing. The moment he mentioned that he wants to experiment Raven's body was the moment his head rolled off on the floor.

Right after she removed her contact lenses, she proceeded to take a warm bath in order to change her clothes and wipe off the blood on her body. She also re-stitch her wound to prevent it from bleeding and also made a mental note to herself to not do anything that could reopen her stitch. This took her two dreadfully long hours before she could finally slumped on her soft flower-printed mattress with open arms, her stomach facing the ceiling. Her body relaxes the moment she inhales the familiar scent of lavender on the sheet.

The after-effects of finishing four missions within two weeks are burdensome, even more so when she didn't have a proper rest. Not to mention that all missions were located in different areas from each other, in which she had a hard time traveling between cities just to accomplish her missions.

Mr. Black had repeated himself over and over to stop her habit of picking multi-missions which would result in her overworking herself, but alas, Raven would always turn deaf to it.

Furthermore, Mr. Black knew he couldn't stop her from doing so knowing that this is something important to Raven.

For now, her top priority is to take a nap, then eat. Her head is already buzzing and refuses to do anything other than to sleep.

Raven's exhausted eyelids flutter close, a soft sigh escapes from her small and pink lips. She was just about to fall asleep when her heightened senses heard a loud thud, followed by the sound of shattered glass and heavy footsteps. It was coming from the apartment right next to her.

Here's the thing, she hates getting involved with others' business when it could only get her more trouble to fix. Obviously she's not the type to help either. Whatever they're doing on the other side of her wall has nothing to do with her.

"Help!! Please, I beg you, please stop!. Help me! Anybody!"

Raven could only mutter a curse under her breath.

Guess this time would be a different case.

Consequences."Let's talk about what you did with the request-command that I clearly told you not to do." Mr. Black's expression turned serious. He folded his hands before leaning forward to rest both arms on his desk. "Let me tell you the reason why I never told anyone about their existence, except to you which I now regret. I never would have thought that you would use it after all the warnings I gave you." Avyanna didn't retort. To be honest, Avyanna hasn't yet heard the reason why he forbade the request-commands from being known in the organization, which is the very first thing he did right after he stepped up as the head of the XYS. So she didn't have an idea how dire the situation really is. "I already told you about the consequences once an assassin utters the oath and requests a command directly to the head—they will either end up dead, or be stripped of their title as assassins and be thrown to them. The XYS will no longer be their homes, nor will they be able to go ba

  • His Little Assassin   AUTHOR'S NOTE

Hello! I apologise for the lack of updates over the last few months. The thing is, I had my first ever blue screen problem around the end of January, and I didn't have the chance to fix it until this Wednesday. Because my brain can't function or generate ideas while I'm not at my computer, I became inactive shortly after finishing the first arc. Sorry! The good news is that I was still able to use my Android phone to produce a few drafts for the second arc and even revised the entire first arc. Although I can't promise to update every day this month, expect the story to continue:) I'll make sure to finish my book before I graduate. I know I've lost a lot of readers by now, but that's okay. My objective is to finish my first book and use it as a stepping stone to becoming a much better writer and producing far more books than I could ever conc
