Runaway

Another week has passed with me avoiding the Dukes like the plague. It's graduation day and as I stand alone in the gymnasium no family or friends here I let one small teardrop before composing myself. The dean of students approach me and he wears a bright smile. I'm valedictorian graduating with some of the highest scores the state has seen in awhile, we've moved your parent's seat closer to the stage. When you arrive later for the ceremony you can instruct them on how to get in and where to go. They should be so proud of you Ms.Williams, with that he hands me four tickets and exits the door. Everything is set and finally ready for the graduating class.
