Lysera

Panic hit me all at once the second Isyra disappeared back into the hall, a sick certainty curled in my gut. I didn’t trust that she hadn’t already slipped back inside, tears ready, lies sharpened to cry to whoever cared to listen that I attacked her.

I couldn’t stay out here.

I gathered my skirts with trembling fingers and hurried back toward the doors, my heart thudding hard enough to hurt. Every step felt like running toward a blade, but standing still felt worse.

The music swelled a

Lysera“He is?” I grinned again. “If he truly were yours, you wouldn’t need to tell me. I’d already know.”“He’s mine!” she snapped, her voice sharp with barely contained aggression. My gaze dropped to her hands resting on her lap. They weren’t clenched.Oh.She wanted to hit me. But she wouldn’t. Not here. Not with guards in the room and servants passing through at any moment.I leaned back slightly, unbothered.“If he’s yours,” I continued smoothly, “then he wouldn’t be trying to touch me.”I let the words linger before adding, deliberately softer—“He wouldn’t be trying to make love to me.”I chose the words carefully. Let them sound intimate. Beautiful. Provoking.“He wouldn’t be so desperate to complete the mating ritual between us…” I arched slightly in my chair, tilting my head as my eyes drifted toward her neck in an exaggerated inspection. Then I clicked my tongue. “…when he hasn’t even marked you.”My gaze returned to her face.“You’ve been with him for years,” I added, my t

  • His Mate, But Not His Luna   Henry is mine

LyseraI slowly took another bite of my food. Letting the taste settle on my tongue, letting the silence stretch just enough to make her feel it.Let her wait. The room shifted around her presence anyway. It always did. Like everything instinctively bent to make space for her.Perfect Isyra.Beloved Isyra.I swallowed, then finally lifted my head and went still. For a second, I just… stared because this, this wasn’t what I expected. She looked beautiful. She always did.But this wasn’t the soft, delicate beauty she usually wore like a second skin. This wasn’t the gentle, glowing Isyra wrapped in pale colors and quiet smiles.No.She was dressed in black. Not just black—deep black that clung to her like a statement. The fabric was rich, heavy, falling around her frame in clean lines that made her look… sharper.Colder.Her makeup was heavier than usual too. Dark around her eyes, her lips a deeper shade than I had ever seen her wear. It made her look older. Harder. Like something had sh

  • His Mate, But Not His Luna   A delicious meal for one

LyseraThe moment I stepped into the kitchen, everything stopped.Movement, sound and breath. Everything. The maids froze where they stood, hands mid-task, eyes snapping toward me like I had just dragged death itself into the room. For a second, no one spoke. Then the murmuring began. Low, filled with shock and disbelief that I was in the kitchen. Again.“She’s here.”“How?”“Why would she be here? What does she want?”The head cook moved. She was a stout woman with thick arms and a stern face, flour dusted across her apron and hands. She stepped forward quickly, planting herself directly in my path like a wall.“You cannot be here,” she said firmly.I didn’t plan to stop walking but she didn’t move so I had to come to a stand still. We stood there for a brief second—me staring at her, her staring right back, unyielding.“Move.”The command didn’t come from me. It came from behind. The older guard stepped forward, his presence cutting through the tension like a blade.“The Alpha has g

  • His Mate, But Not His Luna   Don’t believe the rumors

LyseraI heard the sound of footsteps approaching before the first guard stepped back in. His eyes flicked between me and the boy, taking everything in instantly. The boy straightened so fast it looked painful.“Out,” the older guard said sharply. The boy didn’t hesitate; he turned and fled like his ass was on fire.Actually fled. That broke whatever restraint I had left. I leaned back in my chair, laughter spilling out of me again, lighter now. Freer.“When was the last time you laughed like this?” my wolf murmured, pleased with herself.I didn’t answer because I couldn’t remember. The guard glared at me.“Mad witch.” he muttered under his breath but I heard him loud and clear. Then, louder, he said, “Miss Isyra said you cannot cook to save your life. You will eat what you are given.”My laughter stopped. Just like that it was gone. The silence that followed was filled with coldness.“Isyra?” I asked, my voice filled with coldness. He didn’t seem to realize what he had just done. He

  • His Mate, But Not His Luna   A young soldier

Lysera“I want to cook my own food.” The words came out flat but liquid enough that the guard with me could hear. The guard didn’t even blink. He remained by the door, one shoulder resting against the frame, arms folded across his chest like I wasn’t worth the effort of a response. The door behind him stayed open, as Henry had instructed. No privacy. Just constant watching.I hated it. I wanted to be rid of this guard but for now, I had no choice than to put up with him. The maids that came might have kept their mouths shut and not looked at me with disgust but the same could not be said for the guard. “I said,” I continued, slower this time, “go and inform Henry that I will be preparing my own meals.”The guard turned his head slightly and looked at me. Not with curiosity but with disbelief like I had just said something incredibly stupid. Then he looked away again, completely dismissing me. Just like that.My fingers curled into my palms, nails digging into my skin as anger surged

Lysera ‘You’re thinking too small, Lysera.”I stilled. Her voice had changed. It wasn’t soft anymore. It wasn’t pleading. It was… steady and clear.‘The pack already sees you as evil, she said. Henry thinks you’re nothing but a whore because you got pregnant for a man they nobody knows. Not even you.’My chest tightened because she wasn’t wrong. If you put me in front of the father of my child right now… I wouldn’t even know. All I remembered was his scent. Smoke and cedar. And the last time—in the throne room—Henry had smelled so much like it.My breath caught slightly. Maybe that was why I lost control. Why I went… feral. Why I pressed against him like that. Why I inhaled him like I was starving. That had to be it. It had to be.My wolf scoffed. I braced myself for her to argue—to say it wasn’t about the father of my child, that it was the mating bond, that I was just being stubborn. But she didn’t. She simply… moved on, continuing like nothing had been said.‘So use it.’Something

LyseraI didn’t understand what had just happened.Even as the guards guided me away, even as my feet followed the familiar stone paths back toward confinement, my mind lagged behind, stuck on the moment Henry had stepped into my space like he’d forgotten how to breathe.Like I was the air.I repla

  • His Mate, But Not His Luna   Did he try to kill himself?

LyseraI snapped awake to screaming. Not the kind that belonged to nightmares or memory, but real—raw, panicked, echoing through stone and corridors like a warning bell rung too hard, too fast.“Maids! Healers! Someone come—now! The alpha is drying!”Harlow’s voice. My heart slammed against my ribs

Author’s POVIsyra lay awake in the dark, staring at the carved canopy above Henry’s bed, listening to the slow, indifferent tick of time as it slipped past her.He wasn’t coming. She knew it now with a certainty that sat like a stone in her chest. This was the second night. The second night she ha

  • His Mate, But Not His Luna   Henry is cheating?

Author’s POVMorning crept into the pack house with an unease that refused to lift. The sun rose, as it always did, casting pale light through the tall windows of the throne room, but it did nothing to chase away the heaviness that had settled over the stone walls. The pack moved in hushed currents
