4] The beauty of life

"We're almost ready to leave the hospital, Ares. Why do you want me to do a checkup again? I told you I am fine!" The woman glared at her husband, annoyed. She did not want to take any tests because of her condition. She did not want him to find out the secret she was hiding from him for the past few years now.”Love, you must do so, after all, you just gave birth one week ago. Listen to me okay?" The man tried to calm down the woman as he hugged her tightly. He felt a strange pang in his heart after the conversation he had with his wife in the car. He thought something might be wrong, so it was better to take care of it sooner rather than later.

Standing above her with the baby in his arms he said once more, "Listen to me, okay?" Ares said and looked deeply into his wife's eyes. He was used to people obeying his orders, but he could not treat his wife like a soldier, so he tried to be as gentle and firm as he could. He was a great man for his people and even if his name was feared, he was an amazing father to his children.

"Ares, don't-'' The woman's words were interrupted by the doctor who just came into the room with a bright smile on her face. "How is the mommy doing? Is everything okay? Don't tell me that a certain someone is making you angry again?" The doctor cleared at the man and he sighed in frustration. "I won't repeat myself, Amelia, you will do as I said. End of discussion." He ordered and then handed the baby to your mother before storming out of the room angrily after seeing that his wife was not convinced. "Ignore him, he'll come around," Amelia said with a small sad smile painting her features.

"Yeah of course Ares Hayes will come around." The doctor mocked the woman, and the latter rolled her eyes in anger. After a short while of looking at her baby, her anger was gone. She smiled at the newborn girl. "What will you do now Amelia? We can let him find out. You know he will kill everybody in this hospital, in this building, even if they don't have anything to do with it."

"I know, doctor I know. We'll just do the same thing we've done before." The doctor sighed and noticed in agreement. And Amelia was now in deep thought. She knew everything would come to light one day and she feared that it would be too late to explain the truth then.

The man walked down the hospital, noticing his younger brother, he approached him and sat at the chair behind him. "I bambini?" (The kids?) "Matthew and the teen girls are here, the others are at home, fratello. I can't handle all of your kids. I couldn't handle six kids by myself." The older man laughed with his brother. "Brother, seriously. Matthew is already too much for me. He's exactly like you. So annoying!"

"Enough! Your kids are too much, and I am so tired again. If you keep moving like this, my head is going to explode. Fratello, what's going on?" The younger man sighed and was defeated. "I have problems. The information came from Spain. They're back."

"Elaborate, fratello."

"They managed to find Chinese and Turkish people to send to us. As if we wouldn't know it was them, cretini. They are sending them our way. Of course, I'll mention how to handle them easily. But with my sister-in-law being in here it is going to end up badly and we are going to have problems."

"Don't worry, I'll handle it, fratello." Andrea smiled warmly at his eldest brother. "Yeah Brian told me he has already sent men after them and he's been seeing an assassin." he continued with a bored tone. "Assassin?" Ares asked, confused. "Yes, he took your advice. He said that you were right, only by taking them by surprise will you be able to kill him in person." he nodded at his brother, who was now deep in thought. "Good. What rank is he at?" Ares asked,  "She's third in the whole world!" Andrea said too cheerfully for his brother's liking. "She?" Ares asked with a raised eyebrow. "Yes she's a 22-year-old lady." the younger man answered, still smiling like a teenager. "A woman third round in the world? Well, that's interesting." Ares sighed and leaned back in his chair. "I know right!"

"Well, there is no time to care about her now. Order our men to protect this ward no one is allowed inside." Ares said seriously now, "Yes brother." Andrew agreed. "Tell Matthew to stay and protect the girls." Ares ordered, "Yes. Where are you going?" he probed his brother, "To have a word with our 'friend'." The man throws it down the hallway, his cold aura making everyone waver in fear. The younger man sitting on the hospital chair scoffed annoyed, but he knew his brother was alive.

"My father?" An youthful voice sounded from the side. Glancing to the side, there was standing a beautiful red hair 15-year-old boy, his eyes cold and his structure tall and intimidating, much like his father's. "Sequent to meet with the Spanish people," Andrea answer his nephew with a grin. "Huh, the man doesn't seem to stop at all, huh." The boy raised an eyebrow, glancing down at his phone screen, not noticing the other man's annoyed face at how he acted exactly like his father. "He also asked me to tell you to protect the girls." Andrea continued grinning at the teenager. "Sure."

One word? That's it? The older man was astounded once more at the similarities between father and son. The teenager took his sisters to visit their mother and their newborn sister.

"Matthew! My love. Caroline, Ariadne! Come in here! Do you guys want to see your baby sister?" After hearing the woman's question the 6-year-old twin girls rushed to the bed. Both of them laughed with joy after taking a look at the baby. The woman thought about the beautiful life she had had all those years. She felt a pinch of pain in her heart knowing how sad her family would be when she passed away. This baby sister was a gift from her to them. After all, she knew she wouldn't have much strength after it.
