~Ivy
"No, no, Lysander.... you can't do this! Please, Xander" I said, shaking my head slowly, my voice timid as usual. I have to do everything in my power to stop Lysander from doing this, otherwise I lose my baby. Lysander walked close to me and loosened the rope he used to tie me up. While he was doing this, his thick voice said "Be an obedient girl and get this transfusion done, only then will I consider sparing your life, Ivy!" He loosened the rope and stepped back from me. Still not heading on with this plan, I stood up angrily. Gazing at Mr Yaren, I took my attention to Lysander's face. Walking closer to him, I am more than determined to convince him not to do this no matter how he'd eventually scold me. "Mr Yaren, take her away!" Lysander said, Mr Yaren hesitant at first. Immediately Mr Yaren wanted to touch me, so I raised my left hand- implying to him not to touch me. Then I turned to Lysander "You don't want to believe that Cameil is lying? At least you can believe our family doctor when she says that I should back out from any surgical activities..." I searched my pockets as I was wearing trousers, looking for my phone. Bringing out my phone, I attempted to call Mr Karen but Lysander dragged the phone from my hand instantly! I yelped in fear before looking up at him. "I said I'll spare you if you transfuse your blood to Cameil, yet, you're here claiming rights!" Lysander yelled, his voice filled with anger. "I am sorry Lysander but I can't do this. Not for Cameil, at least not for her fake unborn child..." "I am asking you to do this and you have no option but to respect whatever I say!" "I'm Pregnant, Lysander! I am three weeks pregnant with your child. The doctor advised me to stay away from transfusion, doing this is a way of endangering my child's life!" My voice echoed in the silent scene, Lysander staring at me with all his eyes puffed out. He wouldn't stop staring at me, finding it difficult to believe me. I don't know what moved me into telling Lysander the whole truth but I had to do this for him and our unborn child. "I have every proof to show that I am three weeks pregnant for you, Xander..." I added, my voice seizing to stop stammering. Thankfully, I had the pregnancy report with me moments ago, so I just brought it out from my pocket and handed it over to Lysander who was still silent. "Have a look at them, Xander! I am pregnant indeed!" I said, an unwavering smile swimming on my face As I handed Lysander the pregnancy report, his face transformed into a mask of fury. His eyes, once bright and warm, turned into two blazing embers, burning with intense anger. As I handed Lysander the pregnancy report, his face transformed into a mask of fury. The skin on his forehead creased into deep furrows, and his jaw clenched so tightly that the muscles in his face seemed to quiver with rage. "What could be wrong?" I raised from myself but the next thing that happened, Lysander raised the paper to my face. "You're pregnant, huh?" He started tearing the pregnancy report right before my eyes. My heart melted into pieces seeing how enraged Lysander was while tearing the paper, I couldn't even speak. In this marriage, Lysander makes the action. I listen and watch without judging. "Your pregnancy doesn't freak me! In fact, I am only happy because once this transfusion is carried out, you'll lose that BASTARD inside you!" Lysander directed, burning my heart into ashes. I understand that he doesn't love me but he should have shown some sympathy for our unborn child. This is the least I could do. Now that this Pregnancy didn't change anything, I'll have to do something myself. "Chris! Take her to the ward!.... Mr Yaren, you know what to do next" Lysander's voice echoed and his arm man gripped me. "No, Lysander, please don't do this to me! Please don't hurt our unborn child... This baby is ours, please stop this!" I wish I could change Lysander's mind but he wasn't even moved- his face fixed on me with his hands in his pocket while Chris took me out of the scene. ******* 3:46 PM I opened my eyes to the blurry saturation. Where am I? I touched my belly and my unborn son flashed to my mind. I jumped up from the bed I was lying and someone approached me immediately, trying to cool me down. Her face was blurry and I couldn't tell who she was. I don't even want to know, what I want to know is about my precious little boy! Where is he? "Where am I?" I said, my voice echoing in the room, which somewhat seemed like a hospital ward. "Calm down, Mrs Steel! You're here with me in the hospital..." The lady responded but I ignored her. Everything happened so fast! The last thing I remembered was Mr Yaren injecting me so I could sleep and I am here in Mrs Karen's office. Everything became clear and I wasted no time in grabbing Mrs Karen's clothes. "Doc, please my baby! Please check if he's okay. I just had a transfer..." I halted after seeing the Doctor's face. She wasn't happy, her face was saddened as if something wrong happened. "Is everything okay, Doc?" I inquired, slowly getting over curious. Mrs Karen wouldn't say a word to me, making my emotions so high and my tension increasing so bad. "I hate cliffhangers, Mrs Karen! What happened?" "I am sorry..." She stammered and handed me some documents. "We lost the baby! You had a deep blood transfusion and lost almost all the blood in your body. As a result of this, you had a miscarriage... I'm even sorry to let you know that you can't even bear a child again, Forgive me, Mrs Steel!"Hi, my beautiful readers, Thank you for reading this book up to chapter Five! ~IvyWe turned immediately—and there stood Rach. Her eyes were wide with surprise, a mix of shock and curiosity written all over her face.Honestly, I felt a wave of relief. Thank God it was Rach standing there and not someone else. I had other plans—plans that no one could find out about yet. So, seeing her brought a momentary calm to my racing heart. But Rach? She wasn’t calm at all.She walked toward me quickly, her curiosity practically overflowing.“What’s going on, Ivy? Who’s in the video? What video are you talking about?”Ethan and I exchanged a glance. There was no point hiding it from her now.Rach was already too deep in, and the look in her eyes told me she wasn’t leaving until she knew everything. I took a deep breath, steadying my voice.“We know the truth now, Rach. All of it. There’s nothing left they can hide from us—not anymore. The entire truth is right here in our hands.”She looked at me, her face full of questions, trying to piece things together.“What do you me
~IvyAsmita turned to her with a scornful look, then yanked Cameil’s hands off her with a swift motion.“Nobody can tell, Cameil!” she snapped, flashing a confident smile. “I might be smiling with you now, for trying to set me up with this earring. And what’s more? Ivy doesn’t know anything yet… but the next time you ever repeat this kind of mistake—anything at all that smells like trying to rat me out, directly or indirectly—just prepare yourself.”She stepped closer, voice cold and threatening.“Because that day, you’ll be spending the rest of it behind bars. That’s a promise I won’t break. So before harm comes, be WARNED!”Without another word, Asmita threw the earring at Cameil and stormed off.I repositioned my camera quickly, making sure it was capturing everything—clear, unfiltered, raw.A wave of satisfaction surged inside me. Watching the two devils, who had worked tirelessly to guard their dirty secrets, now tearing each other apart? What could possibly be sweeter than this?
~IvyCameil’s fists were clenched so tightly her knuckles turned white. The rage in her eyes was unmistakable—sharp, burning, deadly. She looked like she could kill Asmita right there if she had the chance. Every muscle in her face was taut, her fury written as clearly as words on paper. My camera was still rolling, capturing everything—her pointing finger, her wild expression, and her voice as it rose to a yell.“You think you’ve got the upper hand?” Cameil spat, her finger trembling with rage as she pointed at Asmita. “You know for a fact that if I release that footage, the whole truth will be seen. And when the truth is out, I won’t be the only one going down—you’ll be going down too! When I go down, you go down!”Asmita shook her head slowly, almost pitying Cameil. When she finally spoke, her voice was bold, clear, and cold.“No, Cameil,” she said firmly. “If you release your so-called footages, there can only be one person who will be going down—and that person is YOU! Because in
~IvyI couldn’t believe what I was hearing.Their words struck my ears like daggers. What were they even saying? So, my instincts hadn’t been lying to me all this while? These people were truly cruel—living freely despite all their crimes? But why? Why did they do this? What could possibly be their reason? My knees weakened under me; I could feel myself going down, spiraling into rage and disbelief. A fierce urge welled up in my chest to storm into that room—to confront them face-to-face, to tear open every secret they’d been hiding under their wardrobes all these years. I wanted to make them speak, to force the truth from their lips. But then Ethan’s hand brushed gently along my back, grounding me. His touch was careful, deliberate.“Calm down, Ivy. Calm down, okay?” he whispered, his voice low and steady. “Don’t let this get to you. Just keep recording the video. I’ll record mine too. It’ll go a long way instead of confronting them right now.”I swallowed hard and nodded, blinking b
~IvyMy heart instantly dropped as my eyes widened sharply. What did I just hear? What on earth did I just hear? That Cameil is the killer?Cameil killed Old Mrs. Sylvie? Cameil is the…“Calm down, Ivy,” Ethan whispered from behind me, his voice low and steady.I was still in awe—frozen. My lips trembled, my mouth quivered. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and hearing. This can’t be real… it can’t be.“This is the right time to record everything, Ivy,” Ethan murmured again, his breath brushing against my ear. “This is the right time to record everything!”He slipped his phone quietly from his pocket, keeping his voice to a whisper. “I’ll take a video of everything that’s going on, and you’ll take yours as well. If anything happens, we’ll have proof—something solid to back up our story. So, hide your emotions and record everything. Is that clear?”I nodded quickly, forcing the tears back even though they burned at the corners of my eyes. They were stubborn, but I couldn’t let them
~IvyJust by looking at Cameil and Asmita’s faces, anyone could tell they were at loggerheads. But something about the tension between them felt deeper — like this wasn’t their first encounter.Ethan stood close beside me, his shoulders stiff. I swallowed hard, trying to keep my curiosity from showing. Still, I couldn’t peel my eyes off Cameil and Asmita. I could sense trouble brewing — that earring in Asmita’s hand wasn’t there for nothing. Whatever it meant, the truth was about to spill, and I wasn’t sure I was ready for it.Asmita’s fingers tightened around the earring as she stared coldly into Cameil’s eyes. A bitter chuckle escaped her lips.“I had a gut feeling about Ivy,” she began, her tone sharp and deliberate. “Because of the way she sounded at me down there when she saw me. I am an intelligent woman. I keep to my words, I keep to my faith as well… but amidst all of these, I keep to my intelligence too.”Cameil’s expression didn’t flinch, though her brows twitched slightly.
