Chapter 2

Penulis: Peachy
"I am the one you are waiting for," I said, my voice calm and steady.

For a moment, they just stared.

Then they burst into even louder laughter.

Jenna was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes. She patted Silas's chest. "Darling, did you hear that? This rogue says she's Chairman Zane's fated mate!"

"Hahaha! A rejected Omega?" one wolf sneered. "Not even in her wildest dreams!"

"Has she lost her mind?"

"Three years and she's become delusional?"

Jenna wiped a tear of laughter from her eye. "You pathetic stray," she sneered, her voice dripping with venom. "Do you have any idea who we are waiting for? We are here for the mate of Alpha Chairman Zane! The Supreme Luna herself!"

"You think just any stray can pretend to be her?"

Jenna started showing off. "Do you have any idea how much the Chairman spoils his mate? The whole Alliance knows! He destroyed three packs overnight for his Luna because they disrespected her! He had a one-of-a-kind mating gift made for her—the 'Heart of the Alpha' pendant, forged from the core of an entire moonstone meteorite!"

Her eyes gleamed with jealousy. "That's the ultimate mating gift among werewolves! The only one in the world! Moonstone meteorite is a thousand times rarer than diamonds, and the core was the size of a fist! You'll probably never even see one in your lifetime."

Then, Jenna froze.

Her eyes locked on my chest. All the color drained from her face.

"What… what is that?" she stammered, her finger trembling as she pointed at me.

Everyone followed her gaze to my chest.

At the collar of my simple white shirt, a delicate platinum chain was barely visible.

On it hung a fist-sized pendant, glowing with a faint, silvery-blue light.

It was the unique glow of a moonstone meteorite.

The surface of the pendant was carved with intricate runes, and a heart-shaped sapphire was set in the center.

It was the exact "Heart of the Alpha" Jenna had just described.

"No... impossible..." Jenna muttered. "That's impossible..."

Silas lunged forward, his fingers grabbing the chain.

"Where did you get this cheap fake?" he roared, his eyes blazing with fury. "How dare you impersonate the Supreme Luna with this piece of garbage?"

"Fakes like this are everywhere now!"

I instinctively protected the pendant with my hand, a gentle smile on my face.

Zane had placed it around my neck on the night of our mating.

He said it represented his heart, and that it would belong only to me, forever.

The way I shielded the pendant sent a flash of pure madness through Silas’s eyes.

"How dare you cherish a gift from another male?"

His possessiveness exploded. He yanked violently at the chain. "What is this garbage? You think you're worthy of wearing it?"

"Silas, don't..." I tried to stop him.

But he had lost all reason. He gave one final, brutal pull.

The platinum chain snapped.

The Heart of the Alpha hit the tarmac with a sickening clink.

My smile shattered. In its place, only ice remained. I met his gaze.

Jenna immediately snatched the pendant from the ground, turning it over and over. "It has to be fake!" she said with certainty. "How could a real moonstone meteorite end up on this bitch?"

"Exactly. Fakes like this are everywhere," a wolf beside her agreed.

"It's a good copy, though. Almost had me fooled," another added.

I held out my hand. "Give it back to me."

"Give it back?" Jenna sneered. "Why would you want this piece of trash? To embarrass yourself?"

My icy stare made Silas's breath catch. But Silas quickly twisted my defiance into shame, seeing only a liar caught in the act.

His hand flew up to slap me but froze mid-air. A look of disgust crossed his face.

"Touching you would make me sick," he spat. "You dare lie about knowing the Chairman? The Alliance is reviewing our pack right now! Do you want to ruin us all with your insane stories?"

Jenna chimed in, her voice dripping with venom. "Ungrateful stray! Are you trying to get us all killed?"

Seeing my silence, Silas mistook it for fear and smirked.

"Whatever. For old times' sake, I won't lower myself to your level."

He pulled a black credit chip from his pocket and threw it at my feet.

"Here's fifty thousand. Buy yourself some decent clothes."

"I'll arrange a junior healer position for you at the pack's medical center."

He looked down at me like he was bestowing a great charity. "To me, 50,000 credits is nothing. But for someone in your situation, it's enough to live decently for a while."

"Be grateful for my generosity."

The other wolves started whispering.

"Alpha Silas is so kind."

"If it were me, I'd have thrown that ungrateful wretch out long ago."

"She should be on her knees thanking him."

I looked at the black chip on the ground. Then I looked at Silas's smug face.

Disgust.

Pure and total disgust.

Their jaws dropped when I stepped right over the chip without a second glance.

I walked straight to Jenna and held out my hand. "Give it back."

"What do you want?" Jenna stepped back warily. "You still want this fake?"

I didn't say a word. I just snatched the pendant from her hand.

And put it back around my neck.

Silas's face turned livid. "Caliana! What is the meaning of this?"

I met his gaze, my voice dangerously quiet.

"Keep your charity, Silas. I don't touch trash."

Six months later. Alliance Headquarters.Today was the most important day of my life. My mating and coronation ceremony. The grandest celebration the world had ever seen.I stood in the dressing room, looking at my reflection. In my arms, I held my one-month-old daughter—Selene. She had the same blonde hair and green eyes as Leo, but her eyes held a faint silver glow—a sign of her connection to the moon’s power.“Mommy, you’re so beautiful,” Leo said, standing beside me, his small hand gently stroking his sister’s cheek.I wore the most precious Luna gown in existence. It was woven by the highest-ranking witch weavers, using threads of moon-forged steel and the finest cloud silk.Every thread was priceless. Every gem was one of a kind.Thousands of starlight diamonds were woven into the gown. Under the lights, it glittered like a living galaxy. This time, no one could touch it.No one could take it from me.“Luna, it’s time.”Zane’s voice came from outside the door, gentle and full of

The news traveled back to the Black Stone Pack faster than anyone could have imagined. The Leader’s public announcement stripping them of their mining rights sent shockwaves through the entire pack. The mine was their only source of income.Without it, the pack would face bankruptcy and collapse. The elders called an emergency meeting. The tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife.“This is all Silas’s fault! That idiot!”“He actually dared to offend the Alliance Leader’s mate!”“Now we’re all going to pay the price!”“We have to cut ties with him, now!”In just one hour, the elders reached a unanimous decision.Strip Silas of his Alpha title. Exile him from the pack. When the news reached the wolves who had mocked me at the airport, their reaction was even more extreme.“What? That woman is really the Alliance Luna?”“We’re finished! We made fun of the Leader’s mate!”“It’s all Silas’s fault! If he hadn't led the way in humiliating her, we never would have joined in!”“

The moment Jenna’s scream ended, she shot up from the floor. From her boot, she pulled a sharp dagger. The blade glinted, coated in silver dust—the one substance that can kill a werewolf. Her eyes were blood-red. She had completely lost her mind.“It’s all your fault! If it wasn’t for you, I would be the most honored Alpha mate! GO TO HELL!”She charged at me, the dagger aimed straight for my belly. She wanted to kill my unborn child.I braced myself, ready to strike back. But I didn’t even need to move.Zane didn’t even fully shift. He just stood there, slowly raising a hand. The crushing power of the Alpha of Alphas erupted from him like a tidal wave.It was an absolute, overwhelming force.CRACK!Before Jenna could even reach me, an invisible force slammed her to the ground. The bones in her knees shattered with a sickening crunch.“AGH! AAAAAH!”She howled in agony, pinned to the floor, unable to even lift a finger. What was even more shocking was Leo. The small child stepped prote

A wave of shock went through the hall at Silas’s words. The guests stared, unable to believe someone had the nerve to claim the Leader’s mate as his own, right to his face.Zane’s golden eyes instantly locked onto Silas, the promise of death in them unmistakable. But just as everyone expected Zane to rip Silas apart, a soft laugh broke the silence.I laughed. It wasn’t a laugh of anger or shock. It was pure, cold mockery.“Hahaha…”I slowly stood up and walked toward Silas.“Is your memory failing you, Silas?”I looked down on him. “Three years ago, the moment you ripped my Luna gown off me in front of the entire pack and put it on Jenna—you were the one who tore our fragile ‘fated bond’ to shreds.”My words hit him like a bucket of ice water, dragging him back to the ugly truth. His face went stark white, then flushed again with a desperate red.“No! Caliana, let me explain!”He dropped to his knees, scrambling toward me.“I only did it because she tricked me! She told me the elders w

Leo’s small voice shattered the silence of the banquet hall. The entire room went dead quiet.Everyone’s eyes went wide. They couldn't believe what they were seeing. The boy, radiating the purest royal blood I had ever seen, tore his hand from the Alliance Leader’s grasp and ran straight into my arms.“No… impossible…” someone stammered.“That child… could he be…”Panic swept through the crowd. If this child was really the Leader’s pup, then…Everyone stared at me in horror. If I was really the Alliance Luna… what had they all just done?Silas’s face was as pale as a ghost, his body shaking uncontrollably.Jenna collapsed to her knees, the pendant in her hand clattering to the floor with a loud crack.Just then, Zane walked over.Every step he took was heavy, his immense Alpha aura forcing everyone in the room to their knees. His golden eyes scanned the hall, finally landing on me.He must have sensed my wolf’s anger, because his brows furrowed. His gaze fell on the shattered pieces of

Three nights later, I entered the grand ballroom. My gown was a deep, midnight blue Zane had designed for me. It was deceptively simple, the fabric seeming to drink the light, its elegance whispering of true power, not shouting for attention. The ballroom was magnificent, glittering under crystal chandeliers. The guests were dressed in their most expensive gowns and jewels.Everyone was waiting to see the legendary Alliance Chairman and his Luna.I had just entered the hall when I heard a familiar voice."Well, look who it is."Silas emerged from the crowd, a smug smile on his face.He looked undeniably handsome in a custom black tuxedo.Beside him, Jenna was a spectacle of jewels in a flashy, expensive red gown."I knew you'd crawl back," Silas sneered, blocking my path. "Finally came to your senses?"He looked me up and down, then frowned. "But that dress... it's a bit plain, isn't it? For an event like this, you should have worn something more glamorous.
