After green eyes hastily left my cell, I couldn't help but smile to myself all night long as I awaited the first quest which I emerged triumphant, as I had predicted.

My jealous brother was so noble and let me return with the moonstone gem first without him.

And I did not give a hoot about his petty feelings towards Selene because she was soon going to be mine alone officially.

I ran towards the light, thinking the biggest embrace was waiting for me but boy was I wrong…

Selene looked at me with longing eyes and a smile briefly then soon it all vanished.

Why is she not happy to see me? I frowned as my soon-to-be pack members cheered me on… I forced a smile at everyone cheering for me and Sebastian appeared.

Suddenly Selene's attention seemed to gravitate toward my injured brother. A mix of envy and curiosity began to consume me.

What was so special about his unsuccessful return? I was the victorious one and I anticipated receiving special treatment that was being bestowed
