16 - Moving On

Madeline didn't know how to feel witnessing Kane in another woman's arms. Was she th same woman Beatrice had claimed to have seen with Kane in SoHo. Even though Kane didn't seem like he was reciprocating, the fact was he neither stopped the woman from kissing him. She wondered if it was really over and Kane really meant every word. She was already torn apart by his departure but now her soul was torn seeing him with another woman. A more pretty one at that.

Madeline couldn't have her dinner when she got back to her apartment. She had completely lost her appetite and was now in her bedroom crying her eyes out on her now soaked pillow. She couldn't shake off the feeling that Kane looked more ideal with that woman than with her. It seemed he had cracked a huge deal for Kane to be all dressed in a designer suit. Did he completely forget all about her and wasn't there any chance he would return back to her.

The next day Madeline went back to the hospital to also stand in line for her breakf
