Eunice's point of view
"Bes, are you ready?" They're waiting downstairs.
I took a deep breath. This is it, Eunice; face the decision you made. I stood up and gave Trish a weak smile.
"I'm ready; let's go."
We are now at Aunt Kim's house; mom and dad are also here. They're talking about what happened yesterday and, of course, the wedding they're talking about.
Now we will find out about Travis' decision and mine.
If we both agree, we'll get married next week, This is according to what Trish told me. She heard Uncle Troy and Aunt Kim talking.
Wow, we'll get married so soon; will I really be tied down? Can't I still do what I want? How about my dreams? Will I just be a housewife? I hope that even if we get married, I can still do what I want, especially my dream.
When Trish and I got down, we went straight to the dining area, where our parents were waiting.
"Oh, they're here already." Take a seat. Honey, where's your son? "He's the only one missing." I sat next to Mom, while Trish sat next to Aunt Kim.
"That kid, he said he was going home earlier."
"It's okay, Troy." Maybe Travis was just busy, so he was late. "We're not in a hurry." Dad said.
"Even so, he knows how important this discussion is. He shouldn't keep us waiting. Didn't he think that you just came from America? You came straight here to discuss the wedding of your only daughter. Hey! Travis's head is getting hard." Uncle Troy grumbled. He seems to be stressed out by his eldest son.
Trish told me that Travis didn't come home yesterday. Maybe he's still angry at his dad because of their argument yesterday and what was shown in the picture.
What could have happened to him and his girlfriend? What's his decision? Maybe they didn't break up; maybe that's why Travis isn't here because he doesn't want to—
I came back to my sense when I saw Travis entering the dining area. He's here. What's his decision?
"I'm sorry, I'm late." He sat directly at the other end of the table.
"Why are you only now? Don't you know we've been waiting for you? Aunt Erin and Uncle Ariel came back from America; they went straight here. ""They haven't even rested." Because of what Uncle Troy said, Travis turned to look at Mom and Dad. But before that, our gazes met. I looked away because his gaze was different; it was so cold. like it'll make your hair stand on end.
"I'm so sorry, Uncle Ariel and Aunt Erin; I had too much to drink last night, so I woke up late." He politely said this to Mom.
"It's okay, son; what's important is that you're here now." Mom replied with a smile.
"Let's eat first so we can start the important discussion." Uncle Troy interjected. Dad nodded before we started eating.
I can't eat properly. I've been feeling Travis' cold gaze; it's so uncomfortable...
"So, Travis, have you made a decision?" I stopped eating because of Uncle Troy's sudden question. Oh no, here it comes. My heart beats faster. They're all looking at Travis, but I preferred to look down at what I'm eating. I don't know; I don't want to look at him, and I'm nervous about his answer.
"Yes, dad. I've made a decision."
"So, what's your decision?" Oh God, here it goes.
"I'll marry, Aaliyah." He answered coldly.
I couldn't believe it. I raised my gaze and turned to him. Is he really sure? Is he going to marry me? Does he agree? What about Mayell? What happened to them? I have so many questions in my mind, but I chose to keep them to myself because I have no right to ask him. Maybe he's thinking of something else.
"Good decision, son; I thought you wouldn't follow me. How about you, Eunice? " I turned my gaze to Uncle Troy, who was now smiling broadly. I could see the joy in his eyes because of his son's decision.
"U-uhm... what... u-uhmm... I agree; I'll marry Travis, Uncle.” I answered awkwardly, then I glanced at my mother when she held my hand and nodded to me. It's done now; we both agreed; we're getting married. Oh gosh...
"That's good! I'm happy that you both made the same decision. So, Ariel, the wedding is next week, right?" Uncle said it happily.
"Yes, it's better to have it early."
"In the church or in the judge?" Aunt Kim asked. I just continued eating because that's all my parents were waiting for. They'll take care of everything. I looked at Trish when she kicked my foot.
From her gaze alone, I knew what she meant. She was asking if I was okay. I just smiled a little and nodded. I know she's worried about me because of this arrangement with her brother.
"Let's just have it in the judge first, if it's okay with you. It's faster to get married there. And It's just for us to know about the wedding. What's important is that they get married and show the board members that Travis is married. If everything is okay, Eunice and Travis can get married in church. We'll make it grand; we'll celebrate their wedding. Is that okay with you, Ariel? How about with you, Erin? with you, Travis?" Uncle asked everyone with smile.
I prefer to just have it in front of the judge because it's just for us. My dream is to get married in church with the man I love and who loves me. But with Travis, it's just me who loves him.
"It's okay with me, dad." Travis spoke briefly.
"It's okay with us too, Troy." Daddy replied.
"How about you, Eunice?" I smiled briefly at Aunt Kim.
"It's okay with me too, Aunt." I replied shyly.
"Finally! What we've been dreaming of, Erin, will happen." Aunt Kim happily said while looking at Mommy, her smile reaching ear to ear.
"We will finally have peace of mind." Mommy replied.
I let out a sigh and finished my meal. I let them talk and didn't want to interfere. The three of us, Trish, and I became quiet while our parents happily chatted away.

I smiled as I looked up at the sky, it was so beautiful and refreshing, and the weather seemed lovely today. As the wind blew, I closed my eyes and felt the cool breeze on my skin.
I was in that state when someone suddenly pulled me.
"Ouch!" I screamed in surprise, my eyes widened when I saw who was pulling me. What was he doing here? What does Travis need from me?
"Come with me, Aaliyah," he said coldly. Okay, this feels like deja vu. But why is he talking like that? He sounds scary, like something's changed in him.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked, confused.
"We have something to talk about," he replied in a cold voice. What could that be? I just let him take me wherever he was going to take me.

We stopped at a door near the maid's quarters. What are we doing here? He took something out of his pocket—a key? I suddenly felt nervous! Oh no, don't tell me... Oh geez, Eunice, stop overthinking! But why here? Why is there a room here? Even if we're getting married, I don't want to do that thing! When he opened the door, he pulled me inside and let go of my hand. I closed my eyes tightly in fear. Geez, what are we going to do here? “What are you doing? You look stupid,” he said. Huh? I slowly opened my eyes and saw his face. His brow furrowed. But wait, what did he say? Me, stupid? I was about to retort, but he quickly turned away from me. So rude! But I was amazed when I saw the inside of the room. “Wow!” I exclaimed in amazement as I looked around. There were so many paintings! They were all beautiful. Who could they be? Why are they hidden here? “Come here, Aaliyah!” I was startled by Travis' shout. Why did he have to shout? I was still enjoying what I
“Do you, Travis, take Eunice to be yours? And do you, Eunice, take Travis to be yours? Do you both promise your hearts to be with each other? Will you walk hand in hand wherever life's journey takes you? Will you keep living, learning, loving, and growing together for the rest of your lives?” “I do, I do,” Travis and I both answered. We looked at each other, but I couldn't see any emotion in his eyes. He was just going through the motions of the ceremony. “And now for the rings, Travis. Please place this ring on Eunice and repeat after me,” The judge said. Travis nodded. I looked up at Travis again as he took the ring and repeated what the judge said. “I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and vows, to cherish always and forever.” My heart ached as he said each word without any emotion, and it hurt to think that everything he said was fake. I took the ring and repeated what the judge said, looking directly at Travis as I did so. “I give
FASTFORWARD I was tired when I got out of Travis's car; I didn't expect that it would be nightfall already. mom and Mommy Kim talked a lot, and they even had a drink. Well, Trish and I just had wine, while our parents and Travis had hard drinks. I looked down and saw Trish getting out of the other car. She walked towards me. “Congratulations again, Bes! I'll go ahead, okay? I'm really tired. Good night! Love you, mhuaaa!” After giving me a kiss, she walked into the house. My parents were already inside, and they said they were going to rest because they were going to the company the next day. I also walked inside and checked on Travis. He was talking to his parents. I shrugged and went straight to the kitchen; I was thirsty. Actually, I went to the kitchen because I didn't know where I was supposed to go. It was our first night as a married couple, and I didn't want to just barge into his room. So, I stayed in the kitchen and waited for him to finish talking t
I woke up with the sun shining brightly on my face. I smiled and got up. I stretched my arm, oh! I slept well? Even though I was in a different room and even though my night wasn't good. Oh, I remember I transferred my sleeping place here at the foot of the bed. I might get stepped on if king Travis passes by, who knows. I looked at the bed to check if my husband was still there. Oh, He's still there and sleeping soundly. I checked the time, and it was already seven in the morning. Why hasn't he woken up to prepare for work? He should already be in the office by eight. I want to wake him up, but he might get angry again, sigh. Let it be, maybe he's tired and sleepy, and that's why he hasn't woken up yet. I got up and went straight to the bathroom to wash up. While brushing my teeth, something suddenly came to my mind. I know that the maids are preparing the breakfast at this time, and I want to help them to prepare the breakfast. Yes, that's right! I quickly
“It wasn't Nanny Linda who made your breakfast today, son. Your wife cooked all of that,” Daddy Troy said with a smile. Travis stopped eating and looked at me in disbelief. “You cooked all of this?” He pointed at the bacon, omelette, and toasted bread in front of him. “Yes, I helped Nanny Linda prepare breakfast. I woke up early,” I said, feeling shyly. He nodded. “It's delicious. I'm glad I didn't go to work today. I got to taste your cook. Thank you, baby.” I stopped getting the omelette when he kissed me on the forehead. Oh gosh, what is happening to him? Maybe he woke up beautifully, that's why he's treating me this way? He's so sweet towards me. “Honey, they look so sweet together, don't they?” Mommy Kim said, smiling. My cheeks feel hot because everyone was watching us. “It's nice to see them like that. Keep it up. We're happy to see you both like that, but for now, let's eat. The food has been waiting,” Daddy Troy said. We all nodded in respon
“Damn it! How many times do I have to tell you, Aaliyah, Don't ever touch my things! Can't you understand?” Eunice just closed her eyes as her husband shouted at her again. “Sorry, it was just messy, so I cleaned it up.” Travis raised his eyebrow and looked at his wife. “Even if it's messy or not, when I say don't touch it, don't touch it! Is that hard to understand, Aaliyah? You're not stupid, right? Damn it! Just get out of my room! You're irritating me! Get out while I'm still holding back my anger, or else I might do something to hurt you!” Eunice went out of the room crying. Two months have passed, and this happens to them every day. During the first two weeks, Travis was still sweet because their parents were still around. However, when they left and needed to go back to America, her life became a living hell. Eunice had been enduring it for two months already. Despite how Travis was treating her, she still fulfilled her duties as his wife. Her best friend,
She doesn't know why she's like this. When they reached the parking lot, the man went straight into the car and changed his clothes. He immediately got out of the car with a smile on his face. “Here.” He handed over the clothes. Eunice accepted the clothes with a smile and put it in her bag. “When I have done washed this, I'll return it to you. By the way, can I get your number? So when your clothes are okay, I'll just text or call you.” “Alright, no problem.” Eunice handed him her phone. She didn't know why she was like this; she wasn't usually like this. She could have just not paid for or washed the stranger's clothes in front of her, but there was something about him that made her feel good. After the man put his number in Eunice's phone, he returned it to her. “Thank you! I'm sorry again. I'll just text you when your clothes are okay.” Eunice looked at her phone to save the guy's number, but she noticed that there was no name, just the number
Eunice was about to move a chair to sit down when suddenly she heard Travis' scary voice booming from the kitchen. “AALIYAH!” It almost gave her a heart attack when he shouted. Fear grew in her chest. What could her husband be angry about now? She quickly headed to the kitchen. She caught him facing the sink. Oh gosh! As soon as Travis felt her presence, he slowly turned around to face her with furrowed eyebrows, clearly showing his anger! Eunice's heart raced even more when she saw how scary her husband looked now. “Who is the fcking owner of this fcking t-shirt, Aaliyah?” Travis pointed the shirt aggressively. The veins in his neck and forehead were visible due to his extreme anger. Eunice's face turned pale. Why did she forget that she had a narrow-minded husband? How could she forget what he might think? Oh God! She was about to speak when Travis grabbed the shirt and threw it at her. “F*ck, Aaliyah! I don't have this kind of shirt! What? You're bringi
