Sophie's POV

I called Tio the morning after.

Not because I needed to, not because anything was urgent, but because after everything that had happened in that living room the night before I wanted to hear his voice and I was done pretending I didn't.

He picked up on the second ring.

Hey, he said, and just the sound of it, unhurried and warm, settled something in me that had been tight since the conversation with Christopher.

Can I come over, I said. I need to tell you something.

He didn't

  • HIS SECRET DESIRE (MxM)   Chapter 107—Ruined

Sophie's POVI looked at him and said it simply.I'm ready, I told him i've been starving for so long, Tio, performing everything correctly while feeling nothing real underneath it. I don't want to do that anymore. I want to actually live, fully, without apology, and I want to do that with you.Tio watched me while I spoke, that steady unhurried attention he always gave me, and when I finished he reached up and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. Then we won't waste any more time, he said.I leaned in and kissed him, slow at first, my hand against his jaw, feeling the warmth of his skin under my palm. He kissed me back with the particular patience he always had, letting me set the pace, letting me lead, and I felt the familiar heat of it begin to build low in my stomach.I pulled back just enough to speak against his mouth.I want you to fuck me hard, I whispered. I want to be ruined.I felt him still for just a second, then something shifted in him, the patience giving way to some

Sophie's POV I called Tio the morning after. He didn't ask questions. Just said yes, gave me the address again even though I already had it, and told me he'd have coffee ready. I got there forty minutes later. He opened the door before I knocked, which meant he'd been watching for me, and something about that small thing made my chest ache in a way I hadn't expected. He was in a grey t-shirt and dark trousers, barefoot, and he looked at me the way he always did, like I was the thing in the room worth looking at, and I stepped inside and let him cl

  • HIS SECRET DESIRE (MxM)   Chapter 105—Obligation

Christopher's POV The smile had surprised me as much as it had surprised her. I hadn't planned it. It arrived the way honest things sometimes did, without permission, slipping through the careful control I had spent years maintaining before I could catch it. And when it came I didn't fight it, just let it sit there for a moment, small and quiet, because something about the way she had said go back to him had landed differently than I expected. Not painfully. Not as accusation. Just as fact, plain and clear, from someone who had finally stopped pretending. She didn't stay long after that. She told me she was tired, that we could deal with the practical things, the lawyers and the paperwork and everything that would need to come next, when we were both ready. I heard her footsteps move down the hallway and then the soft click of her bedroom door, and then the apartment was quiet again. I stayed where I was. The whiskey glass sat on the side table, still holding a finger of liquor

  • HIS SECRET DESIRE (MxM)   Chapter 104—Go Back To Him

Sophie's POVThe question sat in the air between us, quiet and patient, and I understood immediately what he was really asking. Not about Robin. Not about the divorce or the conversation I had just laid out in front of him. He was asking about Tio, about the admission I had slipped in almost without meaning to, and I had known the moment the words left my mouth that he had caught it and held onto it.I exhaled slowly and answered him honestly, because that was the only way I knew how to do this now.A few weeks, I said. It wasn't planned. I want you to know that. I didn't go looking for it.He nodded once, barely, and waited. After I saw the photographs, I said, after I understood what they meant, I was angry for a long time. The kind of angry that needed somewhere to go. And I had a friend who showed me a different way of living and I followed that for a while, and somewhere in the middle of it I met someone who just, looked at me like I was worth looking at. That sounds small when I

  • HIS SECRET DESIRE (MxM)   Chapter 103—What We Never Were

Christopher's POVI heard every word she said. That was the strange part. I heard all of it, clearly, every sentence landing exactly as she intended it, and yet some part of me stayed somewhere else entirely, watching from a distance like the conversation was happening to someone who looked like me but wasn't quite.I had known this was coming. Not today specifically, not the exact shape of it, but the weight of it had been building in the air of this apartment for months and I would have had to be completely blind not to feel it. Sophie had never been a woman who let things sit unresolved forever. It was one of the things I had always quietly respected about her, even in the years when respecting her was easier than anything else we had between us.I sat with the whiskey glass in my hand and let her speak. She started with the apology about my parents and something in me registered it, acknowledged the honesty of it, but didn't move. Going to my father had been a choice that had comp

  • HIS SECRET DESIRE (MxM)   Chapter 102—You Deserve To Be Happy

Sophie's POV He still hadn't said anything. He just looked at me, the glass of whiskey held loosely in his hand, his expression doing that thing it had always done where it gave nothing away completely. Christopher had always been good at that, at arranging his face into something unreadable while the rest of him carried the weight of whatever was happening underneath. I had mistaken it for coldness in the early years of our marriage. Now I just understood it as survival. I moved to the armchair across from him and sat down, because this felt like the kind of conversation that needed to happen at eye level, not from across the room. I'm going to say some things, I told him, and I need you to just let me finish before you respond. He gave a small nod, the barest acknowledgment, and I took that as enough. I took a breath. I owe you an apology, I said. Not for everything, but for one thing specifically. Going to your parents. Calling your father. I handled that badly and I've know
