A Family

She was stunned when she read the words. Tears invaded her eyes and without her knowing trickled down her cheeks. She knew she had a son. His child was killed without he had a chance to live. She didn't want him but it still pained her to know a life that was nestled in her womb was slaughtered mercilessly.  

Killian kneeled beside her and pulled her into his warm embrace. She buried her face into his chest and cried without restrain. For the first time, she didn't feel alone in mourning her child. There was someone who shared her pain, who understood her pain and was holding her in her time of grief. Her pillar, her husband.

For a long while, she wept in the safety of his embrace. He held her tightly in his arms and waited for her to calm down.
