"Marry me then,"

Jasmine's mind went blank when she heard Colton's response. She even thought that she just misheard it!

"W-What did you just say?" she asked in confusion.

"I said, marry me and I will take back my complaint against you," Colton replied.

Jasmine was silent for a moment. She's having a hard time processing Colton's words to her mind.

"Mr. Olivares..." Jasmine spoke, still in confusion, " You know what you're talking about, don't you?" she asked. Making sure that Colton was not just simply babbling things.

"Of course, Ms. Jones," Colton replied confidently.

"You must be just trying to make a joke, don't you?" Jasmine asked again.

"Do I look like I am joking, Officer Jones?" Colton asked back as he stared at Jasmine. He can see the confusion on her face. She must be questioning herself as to why would he want to marry her.

"Did the impact of plunging to the ground affected your brain, Mr. Olivares?" Jasmine sounds sarcastic.

'This guy must be out of his mind!'

'Why the hell would he ask me to marry him?' Jasmine mumbled inside.

"Look Officer Jones, I am not trying to make a joke here," Colton spoke with a hint of irritation in his voice, " I am on my right mind, and I am serious about asking you to marry me," he said.

"Ha!" Jasmine let out a faint and short laugh, " I'm sorry, but...You're making no sense Mr. Olivares," she said, " Why would you ask me to marry you when you don't even know me!" she said.

"Who said I don't know you, Jas?" Colton said which made Jasmine stunned!

"Isn't it how my dad used to call you back then?" Colton added.

Jasmine just looked at Colton with her stunned expression!

'So, he recognized me!' she said inside.

"Now, I will give you a choice," Colton spoke again, " It's either you marry me, and I will spare you from getting dismissed in service, or, you can refuse but, just expect to lost your job, Officer Jones,"

Jasmine balled her hand when she heard Colton's word. This man hasn't changed!

He's still the arrogant, selfish, and rude Colton that she used to know!

"Do you think it's right for you to use your connection just to get what you want, Colton?" Jasmine did not use formality anymore. Entitled people like Colton don't deserve to be respected!

"Why not, if it can benefit me," Colton replied arrogantly.

Jasmine clenched her teeth, " I came to ask you to take back the case against me, and now you're threatening me to lost my job if I don't agree to marry you?!" Jasmine sounds sarcastic.

"You know I can make your life complicated, Ms. Jones, don't you?" Colton asked back.

"You're a selfish bastard!" Jasmine said in anger, but Colton doesn't seem to be affected.

"Oh, I know," Colton replied sarcastically as he revealed a mysterious smile, " Why won't you just agree to marry me, and then, everything will be settled!" he added.

"I haven't lost my mind yet, Colton, I am not crazy enough to marry the worst person I have ever known!" Jasmine said with her sharp gaze.

Jasmine was mad that she did not see the trace of pain flashed into Colton's eyes when she said her last words.

"Then, prepare to be dismissed from service!" Colton said.

Jasmine's face turned red in anger, "I know I was at fault," she said, "But, isn't it too much for you to get me dismissed in service?"

"It's not that I tried to kill you then," She said.

"It's not right to use your money and influence for someone else's downfall," Jasmine continued.

"If you only agree, I wouldn't make such a decision," Colton said without a trace of mercy on his face.

"You know what, Colton," Jasmine spoke in a blank expression, "I feel sorry you," she spoke, " You must be so lonely that it makes you happy to see someone else's struggles," she said.

"This negotiation is over, I have asked you nicely but you're so stone-hearted, I'd better be with someone poor with a good heart rather than a selfish, and arrogant wealthy person like you!" Jasmine turned to leave after saying her words, but Colton spoke again which made her stop in her track.

" When you get dismissed, you will not be able to catch the person behind your mother's death anymore!" he said.

Jasmine froze as soon as she heard Colton. She turned back to him with a questioning look" W-What...H-How..." she wasn't able to finish the word, 'How did you know.' because Colton was quick to cut her.

"I know everything, Jas," Colton said, his mysterious smile is now back, "As I said, I can use my influence to dig information about you," he added.

He then slowly walks closer to Jasmine before he spoke again,

" Now, you choose," he continued, " Are you marrying me, or, you're saying goodbye to service?" he asked.

Colton couldn't hide the smile on his face as he slowly removed the brace on his arm. He won against Jasmine!

He made her agree to marry him.

"Congratulations, sir," Alexis said as he took the brace from Colton, "You made her agree to marry you," he said.

Colton doesn't have a reaction, "Don't congratulate me yet," he said, "I still have to stay married to her for at least six months," he added.

'Yes, he still has to endure being in a loveless marriage for at least six months and he doesn't have a choice. It's the only way for him to be able to claim what belongs to him.

He can divorce Jasmine after that. He doesn't have the plan to make their marriage longer because he doesn't want to keep himself in a loveless marriage.

Colton froze for a moment as he remembers Jasmine's attitude towards him. Jasmine seems to hate him.

'Because you were so rude to her back then,' the other side of Colton's mind said, ' You were the reason why she left and run away from the mansion.'

Colton just sighs!

He was young and sick back then. His illness affected him. He thought everyone only wants to be friends with him out of pity and he hates those thoughts.

He really didn't mean it when he told her to just leave and never show her face again. He was depressed thinking that he could die at a young age because of his illness.

Anyways, what's important now is that he succeeded in making her agree to marry him and that's enough.
