Dominic

"You have ten seconds to explain why my legal team was served with a state prosecutor's warrant thirty minutes ago."

I stood behind the desk in my private study at Voss Tower, staring at Lila. The morning sun cutting through the floor-to-ceiling glass did nothing to warm the room.

Lila sat on the leather sofa, crossing her legs, casually sipping black tea from a bone china cup. She wore a tailored white suit, looking every bit the pristine, high-society heiress.

"Dominic, darling, sit down," Lila said smoothly, setting the teacup on the marble saucer with a delicate clink. "You look like you haven't slept in days. I did what had to be done to protect our family's reputation."

"Our family?" I walked around the desk, stopping two feet from where she sat. The rage inside my chest was a cold, sharp blade. "You used Apex Holdings to buy out Pier 4 leases. You used your father's connections to bribe H. Vance and raise Aria's commercial bond. And then you planted a private wire in her apartment."

Lila’s hand froze over her teacup. Her fake, loving smile flickered, then died completely.

She set the cup down, sat up straight, and looked up at me with eyes as cold as flint.

"So Marcus told you," she said, her voice dropping the high-pitched, sweet facade. She didn't sound fragile. She didn't sound like a victim. Her tone was flat, razor-sharp, and terrifyingly calculated.

"Marcus works for me," I said, my voice dangerously low. "He brought me the recording device you left in her room. He also brought me the financial disclosures from Apex Holdings. You've been using Caldwell trust funds to sabotage her business for two weeks."

Lila let out a soft, bitter laugh and leaned back against the leather cushions.

"Sabotage?" she scoffed, tilting her head. "Dominic, I was cleaning up your mess. You've been obsessed with that useless girl ever since she walked away from your money. She was operating an illegal dispatch hub on Pier 4 under our family's name! Do you know how embarrassing that is for my parents? For me?"

"She was building something on her own," I snapped. "Without taking a single dollar from me or your family."

"She was drawing you back into her web!" Lila shouted, standing up from the sofa, her face twisting with sudden, ugly fury. "She knew you'd come running the moment she played the pathetic, struggling victim! And then she pulls this ridiculous pregnancy story out of thin air!"

"It isn't a story, Lila," I said, my knuckles white as my hands clenched at my sides. "She is carrying my child."

"Is she?" Lila stepped right into my space, poking her manicured index finger against my chest. "How do you know it's yours, Dominic? She’s been living near the docks surrounded by rough, low-class sailors for weeks! She could have slept with anyone down there just to trap you into giving her a settlement!"

"Shut your mouth," I growled, grabbing her wrist and twisting it away from my chest.

Lila didn't flinch. She glared straight into my eyes, her lips curling into a cruel sneer.

"You think you're so smart, Dominic," she whispered venomously. "You think you can just throw me away because she's pregnant? After seven years? After everything my family did for you?"

"Your family hid the original paramedic report from Lake Erie!" I barked, tightening my grip on her wrist. "You paid off the legal firm to delete the dispatch notes!"

Lila’s eyes widened for a fraction of a second, but she recovered instantly, letting out a dark, mocking laugh.

"So what if we did?" she spat. "Who do you think the media will believe, Dominic? The spotless, tragic heiress who spent years in European recovery clinics after saving your life? Or the disgraced ex-wife living in a dockside attic with an illegitimate baby?"

I stared at her, feeling a sick, nauseating disgust twist deep in my gut. For seven years, I had held this woman on a pedestal. I had felt guilty every time I looked at her, believing I owed her my life, my wealth, my loyalty.

I had sacrificed five years of Aria's life to pay a debt to a monster.

"Pack your things," I said, releasing her wrist and stepping back, looking at her as if she were a stain on my floor. "Clear your clothes out of the penthouse by noon. If you step foot in Voss Tower again, my security team will throw you out into the street."

Lila straightened her white jacket, her chest heaving, her eyes burning with pure, unadulterated hatred.

"You can't kick me out, Dominic," she said softly, her voice dripping with lethal confidence.

"Watch me."

"If you throw me to the wolves," Lila said, pulling a leather document folder from her expensive handbag and tossing it onto my desk, "I will hand those files to the state prosecutor and the board of Continental Shipping."

I looked down at the open folder.

Inside were internal audit documents from Voss Enterprises dating back six years; documents showing selective tax write-offs and offshore land acquisitions signed by Lila’s father while he served on my executive board.

"My father buried those compliance violations to protect your father's legacy," Lila murmured, stepping closer to the desk. "If those files go public tomorrow, the Continental Shipping merger dies instantly. Voss Enterprises stock will plummet forty percent in three hours. The board will remove you as CEO before the market closes."

She leaned over the desk, her face inches from mine, her breath, warm and poisonous against my cheek.

"You ruin me, Dominic, and I tear your empire down to the dirt," Lila whispered. "And once you're broke and stripped of your title, let's see if your little dock-worker ex-wife still looks at you like a god."

I didn't blink. I looked into her pale, desperate eyes and felt a cold, absolute calm wash over me.

"You think I care about the stock price, Lila?" I asked, my voice terrifyingly soft.

Lila's smirk wavered slightly. "Dominic…"

"I don't give a damn about Continental Shipping," I said, reaching down, picking up the folder, and tossing it straight into the paper shredder beside my desk. The machine roared to life, pulling the documents in and chewing them into useless gray ribbons. "And I don't give a damn about the board."

Lila gasped, backing away as if I had struck her. "You're insane! That was your father's company!"

"This is my company," I corrected her, stepping around the desk toward her. "And as of nine-fifteen this morning, I have authorized Marcus to execute a total buyout of Apex Holdings' debt. I own your family's real estate firm, Lila. Every mortgage, every line of credit, every asset."

Lila went paper-white. Her lips trembled as the color drained completely from her face. "What?"

"If you go to the press, or if you touch Aria again," I said, leaning down until my eyes were level with hers, "I will liquidate your family's accounts by four o'clock today. Your parents will be homeless by the weekend."

Lila stared at me in horror, her breath coming in short, terrifying hitches. She realized, in that single second, that the man she had manipulated for seven years was no longer playing by her rules.

My private phone buzzed violently on the desk.

I picked it up without taking my eyes off Lila. "Speak."

"Sir!" Marcus’s panicked voice came through the speaker. "The transport team I sent to secure Aria at the harbor just called in! They were intercepted on Route 9 by two unmarked SUVs!"

My heart stopped. "Intercepted by whom?"

"We don't know, sir!" Marcus shouted over the sound of wind and static. "They ran our vehicle off the shoulder! They took Aria from the car, sir! She's gone!"

  • His True Saviour: The Billionaire's Regret    Foundations in Steel

AriaThe morning sun over Lake Erie offered no warmth. On Pier 4, the thick black smoke from last night’s diesel blaze had cleared, leaving behind the bitter stench of scorched timber, chemical foam, and ocean salt. Fourteen fishing boats sat tied to the outer berths, their hulls blackened by soot but intact.I stood near the edge of Berth 1, wrapping my wool coat tightly around myself against the biting wind. In my coat pocket, my hand rested over the heavy manila envelope containing the transfer papers; the land deed, water rights, and deep-water access permits for Pier 4.Unconditional ownership. Mine.Behind me, the smooth crunch of dress shoes against wet gravel signaled his approach.Dominic walked down the wooden pier. His tailored suit was ruined, mud dried along the hem of his trousers, and white bandages wrapped both of his hands from the fires of the night before. His dark hair was unstyled, windblown, and for the first time since I had known him, the cold, arrogant light i

DominicSirens screamed across the waterfront as the sky over the bay turned a violent, sickening crimson.Thick, jet-black plumes of smoke billowed into the night, blotting out the stars. From the balcony of the clinic, Pier 4 looked like a roaring maw of open flame. The primary diesel storage tanks; thousands of gallons of high-grade marine fuel; had ignited, creating a wall of fire that threatened to swallow the entire lower harbor, the wooden slips, and the fourteen docked vessels of the alliance."Sir! Emergency services are blocking the perimeter!" Marcus yelled over the roar of wind, storming out onto the balcony, his phone pressed to his ear. "The harbor master has declared a total dead-zone! They're abandoning the inner docks!""Where is she?" I demanded, my hands slamming against the cold iron railing."Coastal guard radar tracked a high-speed speed launch leaving the bay bridge pier five minutes ago!" Marcus shouted back. "It's Lila! She's heading directly for the channel

  • His True Saviour: The Billionaire's Regret    Ashes and Shorelines

AriaThe heavy metal crunch of the tow truck crashing into Lila’s SUV echoed across the cliffside like thunder.Lila hit the slick asphalt, the silver revolver flying from her hand and skidding across the wet road before disappearing over the edge of the cliff into the dark, churning sea below."Get up! Both of you, get in!" Captain Santos yelled from the high cab of the tow truck, throwing the driver-side door open. Behind his massive rig, four more harbor trucks pulled around the curve, headlights flooding the narrow road in brilliant, blinding white light.Dominic didn't hesitate. He swept his arms under my knees and back, lifting me off the cold asphalt before I could protest."Dominic, put me down…""Not a chance in hell," he growled into my ear, his voice tight and shaking as he carried me straight to the cab of Santos's rig. He set me gently onto the bench seat, wrapping his damp wool coat around my freezing shoulders.I looked back down the dark highway through the fog. Hank R

DominicThe steering wheel of the Maybach vibrated violently under my palms as I took the sharp turn onto the coastal highway, the tires screeching against the wet asphalt. The rain had turned into a full-scale gale. Waves crashed against the jagged rocks fifty feet below the cliffside road, throwing white foam and heavy spray over the concrete guardrails."Where are they?" I roared into the Bluetooth speaker."Sir, we picked up Captain Miller’s truck signal three miles past the bay bridge!" Marcus yelled over the roar of wind through his line. "He’s heading toward the old lighthouse road! But there’s an unregistered commercial flatbed tailing him; no license plates!""Where is Lila?""Her private vehicle left her family’s estate twenty minutes ago," Marcus replied rapidly. "Sir, if she’s using Apex security transport to force that truck off the cliff, she’s trying to kill them!""Send every security unit to the north point," I growled, stomping the accelerator flat against the floorb

  • His True Saviour: The Billionaire's Regret    Burning the Ledger

AriaThe rain hit the skylight of the dockside warehouse like a volley of lead shot.Inside, the fourteen captains of the harbor alliance stood around a makeshift wooden table, staring in stunned silence at the white paper slapped against the bulkhead. An official notice of eminent domain, stamped by the state transport authority and signed by Vance. Effective at midnight, the entire eastern apron of Pier 4 was declared an industrial hazard zone. Any vessel tied to the berths would be impounded, and any commercial dispatch operator found on the property would be arrested for trespass."He can't do this," Captain Santos barked, his face red with fury as he slammed his thick fist onto the table. "We paid the bond! The municipal clerk issued the receipt!""The municipal bond covers your business license, Santos," Miller said grimly, leaning over the table with his arms crossed over his broad chest. "It doesn't protect you if the land underneath your boots is seized by state authority. V

  • His True Saviour: The Billionaire's Regret    The Landlord's Shadow

DominicMarcus dropped the black leather folder onto my desk at six-thirty in the evening. The rain had cleared, leaving the city skyline bathed in a cold, amber sunset that reflected off the glass towers."The deed is signed, Mr. Voss.”I didn't open the folder. I knew what was written inside: Voss Global Logistics now held sole ownership of Pier 4, the deep-water access channels, and every commercial lease on the eastern apron."What about Vance?" I asked, looking out over the harbor."He received official notification from our corporate legal team ten minutes ago," Marcus replied. "He attempted to issue a private eviction notice against Caldwell Dispatch using Continental Shipping’s name, but our injunction froze his authority. Caldwell Dispatch is legally protected under our umbrella lease.""Is she safe?""My private security team has deployed six plainclothes officers around Pier 4 disguised as harbor maintenance," Marcus assured me. "Lila’s people can't get within two blocks of
