Isadora did not stop until she reached her room.

The halls felt longer now. Narrower. Like they were closing in on her with every step. Her shoes echoed softly against the stone floor, each sound too loud in the silence. She could still feel his presence behind her, even though she knew he was far away.

Her heart was still racing.

Her hands shook.

She curled her fingers into fists and forced herself to keep walking.

Do not look back.

Do not slow down.

She repeated the words in her head like a prayer.

When she finally reached her door, she paused.

Just for a second.

Her chest rose and fell sharply as she tried to steady her breathing. The anger was still there, burning hot and bright, but fear wrapped around it tightly. The kind of fear that came after bravery. The kind that whispered, What have you done?

She reached for the handle.

It turned easily.

The door opened, and she stepped inside quickly, closing it behind her with a soft click.

Only then did her legs weaken.

  • His Unwanted Witness    I came for Amelia

Isadora did not stop walking. Her steps were steady, even though her chest felt tight and her thoughts were loud. She moved through the quiet halls with one clear purpose. She did not look at the guards. She did not slow down. She did not hesitate. She went straight to Lorenzo’s room. The door stood tall at the end of the corridor. Dark wood. Heavy handle. Two guards stood nearby. They looked at her, surprised, but said nothing. One of them knocked once, then stepped aside. The door opened.Lorenzo stood inside. He was calm. Too calm. He wore a dark shirt, sleeves rolled up, his posture relaxed like he had been expecting her.He raised an eyebrow.“You came to me,” he said. “I wondered how long it would take.”Isadora stepped inside without answering. The door closed behind her.She stood straight, her hands by her sides, her face pale but firm.“I’ll do what you asked,” she said.Lorenzo’s smile widened slowly.Silence followed her words. Then he laughed.A deep, amused sound.“So ea

  • His Unwanted Witness    I don't want to die here

Isadora did not wait long. The decision she had made sat heavy in her chest, but it pushed her forward instead of holding her back. She changed into simple clothes, pulled her hair back, and slipped out of her room quietly. The mansion was calm.Too calm. The afternoon light spilled through the tall windows, painting the white tiles in soft gold. Guards moved at a distance, their footsteps steady, their faces blank. No one stopped her. No one questioned her. That alone made her uneasy. She walked slowly, pretending she had nowhere important to be, even though her heart was racing.Every turn she took brought back the memory of that place. The stairs. The cold air.The cries.Amelia.Isadora clenched her fists as she reached the hallway she had memorized in her mind. She slowed her steps, listening carefully. No voices. No footsteps. No sound except the faint hum of electricity. She reached the door. The same door.Plain. Heavy. Metal. Her hand hovered over the handle. She took a deep

Alina left quietly. The door closed with a soft click, and the sound felt louder than it should have. The room fell back into silence. The kind of silence that pressed against Isadora’s chest and made it hard to breathe. She stood there for a long moment, staring at the door. Then she slowly walked back to the bed and sat down. Her hands rested in her lap, fingers tightly locked together. Her mind would not stop.It moved in circles. Dark circles. Endless ones. She leaned back and stared at the ceiling.“Think,” she whispered to herself. “Just think.”The image of Amelia flashed in her mind. The cage. The bars. The shaking hands. The desperate voice begging not to be left behind.Isadora squeezed her eyes shut.“I can’t leave her there,” she whispered. Her chest tightened painfully. She rolled onto her side and pulled her knees up slightly, hugging herself.Lorenzo’s words echoed in her head.Sleep with me.I’ll release her.She swallowed hard. The words made her feel sick. Dirty. Ang

Isadora went back to her room. She closed the door behind her slowly, as if any loud sound might shatter her thoughts. The room felt too quiet. Too large. The soft lights on the walls only made the silence louder. She walked toward the bed and sat down. Her hands trembled. Amelia’s face would not leave her mind. The cage. The bars. The way the girl begged. Isadora lay back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Why is he doing this? Why does he keep girls locked like animals? Why does he think he owns lives? Her chest tightened. Amelia was young. Too young. Her eyes held fear that no one her age should ever know. “She is just a girl,” Isadora whispered to herself. She turned to her side. What if Lorenzo never lets her go? What if Amelia never leaves that cage? The thought made her stomach twist. Isadora shut her eyes, trying to sleep, trying to escape her thoughts even for a moment. Then— The door opened. She froze. Slow footsteps entered the room. She did not
