A better opportunity

Sophia went home and announced her success in getting a job. Her family rejoiced with her but when they heard that she was going to stay far away, they suddenly refused.

However Sophia promised to visit during the weekends and they agreed with her in no time. The next morning Sophia left for Logan's villa.

Stepping out of the taxi, Sophia could feel her heart beating faster than usual. However she tried her best to regain her composure.

*You are here to get revenge and nothing else Sophia, so you need to focus*

Sophia walked further and placed a knock on the gigantic door. Shortly the door was opened by a middle aged man. He introduced himself as the cleaner of the villa and Sophia did the same.

The young man opened the door wider for Sophia to come inside. Entering into the house, Sophia breath was seized at first at the sight of the house.

Prior to this Sophia had already imagined the house to be very huge due to the kind of person he was. However it turned out that her expectation wasn't even close to what was in front of her.

The villa was massive inside and out. It had a slight hint of mid century design in its architecture. And to add to it, Lucas seemed not to have plenty of workers but only Noah, the man in charge of cleaning the villa.

*If he has only a cleaner, then who does the cooking for them?*

Sofia cursed at herself for thinking too much that she was beginning to care. She once reminded herself that she was here for a mission and nothing else.

Noah helped Sophia in carrying her luggages to the second master bedroom upstairs. Entering the bedroom, Sophia wowed at the largeness of the room. It was close to being larger than her sitting room back home. The interior was a simplistic but modern design.

“If there is something else you need, I'm at the garden ma'am.” Noah suddenly uttered respectfully and just when he wanted to walk away, Sophia called for him.

“Could you please take me to Mr Logan's daughter's room? The time is almost seven and I need to get her prepared for school in fifteen minutes.” Sofia explained.

The two elders walked past so many rooms and just when Sofia thought she was going to keep walking forever, they stopped in front of a room.

Noah turned to Sophia “This is Ava's room.” he announced. Sophia thanked him and he walked away.

Opening the door, Sophia tried her best not to make a sound. She finally pushed the door ajar and walked through it.

Sophia walked straight to the bed and turned Ava around. She froze to the spot as her mind went blank instantly. Jumping a little in shock, Sophia discovered that Lucas' daughter was having the same face as the girl she met with the other day.

Unfortunately for her, Ava was already awake. Rubbing her blurry eyes she sat upright and turned around only to see the least person on her mind.

“Sophia!” The latter hopped off her bed and hugged her nanny by the waist.

Sophia's expression scrunched up but immediately her fingers brushed against Ava's soft body, she found herself smiling like a fool.

Squatting to Ava's level, Sophia said in a whisper “If we don't get you prepared for school right now. I'm afraid that you're going to be late.”

Ava only chuckled at Sophia's words.

Meanwhile Lucas woke up to the sound of his phone alarm. It did not take long for him to go through his morning routine. After doing so he dressed up in a navy blue bespoke suit and went to Ava's room.

That was how it has always been, he would wake up at five everyday and take his bath, giving Ava enough time to sleep, since she was a deep sleeper.

Then before the time would strike six o'clock, Lucas would get her warm bath ready and get her prepared for school.

Stopping in front of Ava's room, Lucas placed a knock on the door but there was no response, so he entered inside instead and found her bed empty.

Closing Ava's room door in a rush, he headed downstairs. He was only at the staircase when he smelled the delicious aroma of breakfast. Lucas' expression scrunched up and in no time he was downstairs.

Sophia was bustling in the kitchen, meanwhile Ava was busy eating a plate of cereal when she noticed her father standing from afar as he saw her all dressed up already. He was beyond shock and didn't bother to hide his expression.

Meanwhile, a warm smile bloomed on Sophia's face as she rushed to her father. “Daddy you're awake! Come, come, have some breakfast with me.” she said, dragging her father by his fingers.

“Okay, thank you.” Mr Logan brought out a seat and sat down quietly, as he watched the back of the person who was in the kitchen.

His mind was still fixated on Sophia when his daughter turned to him having milk stained lips. Frowning slightly, Lucas reached for a paper towel on his right and cleaned his daughter's lips on one wipe.

“Daddy my new nanny is the best, thank you for bringing her here as I suggested.” Ava's tiny voice came out.

Utterly stunned by the revelation, Sophia temporarily forgot that Mr Logan was actually waiting for her introduction. Her mind went wild as she thought

*Ava was the one who told her father to hire me? And he did? What a fool he is. Mr Logan you have just dug your own grave*

Turning around, Sophia let out a tight smile and walked forward “Hello Mr Logan. I am Sophia Owen, the nanny assigned to take care of your daughter.”

Mr Logan didn't say a word but only stared at Sophia. His gaze alone peered right through her, as if he could see through her mind.

*Wait! Does he remember me?*

Sophia's mind went blank instantly and suddenly she broke into a cold sweat as her lips moved soundlessly.

Meanwhile, Lucas was taken aback by the beauty of the lady in front of him. Prior to this, he had swore to Ava's mother that he wasn't going to look at other women and it all went smoothly because no matter how beautiful a woman was, she was nothing compared to the late Emily in his eyes.

However the lady in front of him was slowly taking his breaths away with her beauty. And he must admit, she was prettier than any he had laid his eyes on.

Although Sophia was not a typical world class beauty, her features are delicate and fine. She was the sort of woman that would appear increasingly beautiful, the more one had looked at her.

Lucas swallowed hard, his throat suddenly feeling as dry as parchment. Finally righting himself, Lucas replied in a hoarse voice “I hope you take proper good care of my daughter Sophia”

Somehow the way he called her, brought waves of sensation within her body. Sophia swallowed hard and questioned herself again.

*Can I really get rid of this man in front of me?*
