Chapter 40. Engulfed in a Complex Panic (III)

It was 8 p.m, an old sedan from the 90's stopped in front of Sofina's residence. A man with glasses got out of the car. Blam, the sound of a car door that had just been closed accompanied by the sound of a car siren and made the occupants of the house become noisy.

Sofina and Anita glanced from behind the curtain of the bedroom window, observing a figure walking towards the gate of the house.

"Who's that, Nit?" Sofina asked.

"How would I know. Hmm. I'm afraid that it may be some crooks," Anita answered.

"Don't scare me!," Sofina said.

“I don’t mean to scare you, I’m just worried of who it may be,”

"Hmm…" Sofina mumbled.

"Shall we check it together?" Anita asked.

"Okay," Sofina answered.

Anita and Sofina stepped out of the house, toward the locked gate. From outside the gate, a man who got out of the car started chattering.

"Good night, Mam. This is Sofina's house, right?"

"Goo
