Chapter - 6

It was eleven o’clock at night and Yohan Dixon had already taken a refreshing bath. He got out of the bathroom in his black bathrobe in which he looked sensual. He lit a cigarette and went to the balcony. After vomiting, he had become sober. His eyes were red and dark though his face was admirable.

Sara Owen was walking in the garden while hugging her chest. The man's eyes darkened when he saw her. Her face was pale and her eyes were sparkling in the moonlight because they were teary and lost. Her thin figure was moving on the lawn as if she had lost her path and did not know where she should head. She just wanted to walk. Yohan Dixon leaned on the railing of the balcony and kept smoking while looking at the woman with his dark eyes.

-“Help! Help! Please!”-

The noise reflected in his mind and he threw a big smoke from his lips which turned into lots of rings.

This was the same woman he had seen in that club before a month. He was returning from the company when he suddenly felt an urge to drink. He asked Assistant Nolan to stop the car somewhere to fulfil his desire. He had been sitting on the chair and she was the bartender. She was professional and calm and her sweet voice attracted him. She served him whisky many times but did not look at him once. He smoked and drank a lot and did not care that it was time to shut the club. She stepped towards his back and said, “Sir, it is time to close.”

He threw the cigarette butt in the ashtray to leave but a sudden noise entered his ears and he turned back. The woman had been slapped by a drunk man who was cussing her. She was ailing lying on the ground with her lowered and teary gaze, enduring the nonsense.

Yohan Dixon frowned when that drunk man called her ‘slut’. He slapped the man and he fell to the ground unconsciously. She got scared and quickly reached her palms to hold his shoulders.

“Adrian… Adrian… Are you okay?”

Yohan Dixon sighed when he saw the silly woman still caring about that man who had cursed and beat her. He frowned and left the club while lighting a cigarette.

Yohan Dixon came back to the present when he heard a familiar voice. He looked at the woman who had hissed just now. His eyes darkened when he saw her bare feet. A thorn was pricked in her foot. She slowly pulled it out, threw it in the trash can, and then began to walk as if her foot wasn’t injured. He kept looking at her and she kept walking till the middle of the night. Was she missing that Adrian guy?

It was early morning. Yohan Dixon got ready to leave but just like last morning, she was waiting for him in the living room. When she saw him, she lowered her eyes hesitantly because he was looking dashing in the dark blue suit.

“Good morning.”

Her sweet voice stopped him and he looked at her with his dark gaze. His sensual body fragrance killed her senses and she held her palms tightly.

“Please have breakfast.”

Yohan Dixon did not want to miss the tasty meal so he headed to the dining hall and Sara Owen followed him in a daze.

When he finished, he wiped his mouth and then stood up to leave.

“Did you like it?” She wanted to know so that she could cook as per his choices.

“Hmm. Don’t make it too spicy.” He replied coldly.

Judging from his attitude, she thought he liked spicy food but it turned out to be wrong.

“I am sorry. I will take care in future.”

Yohan Dixon did not reply but turned back to leave but she wanted to ask one more thing.

“Will you return on lunch?”

“No.”

“Oh…”

He stepped ahead to leave and she called him again.

“I…” She quickly bit her lips then turned back and lowered her head. Was it appropriate to ask? Yohan Dixon turned back and looked at her weak back coldly.

“Is there something?”

“Can I use the telephone once?” Her voice was trembling.

“Use it anytime.”

Yohan Dixon left without having any interest and she bit her lips sadly. She was missing her friend Gracie and wanted to talk to her but she did not have a mobile phone and was scared enough to go outside.

…

"President." Assistant Nolan entered holding some documents when Yohan Dixon was smoking while leaning back on his chair leisurely. He did not open his eyes even when Assistant Nolan put the documents on the table and looked at him.

"I have searched everything about her."

"..."

"She is right. Right now, she doesn't have a home to go."

Yohan Dixon smoked in the air and the smoke turned into rings making the silence dangerous.

"Her name is Sara Owen. She was working in that club for one and a half months to pay the bills of her husband."

"..."

"He is Adrian. He is jobless. She had run away from the club when he lost her in gambling to his friends and his friends humiliated her."

Yohan Dixon opened his red and dark eyes and flicked the ash in the ashtray. He had trusted at the first sight that she was not a danger to him.

“Her teachers say that she was intelligent in studies but left her studies to marry a man much older than her.”

Yohan Dixon sighed and stood up from the chair and Assistant Nolan looked at his back in a daze. He did not know what action he was going to be asked for. Yohan Dixon looked out of the glass and placed his palms inside his pockets.

“Go to the Vento University, again.”

Assistant Nolan narrowed his eyes and could not get his motive. Just then, they heard a ring and Assistant Nolan switched the red button on the receiver.

“President, a lunch box has been sent for you.”

...

In the dining room, Yohan Dixon was staring at the lunchbox in a daze. It was an awkward feeling for him. He recalled that day when Samira Reddy once brought a lunch box for him and they had lunch together for the first time.

But today, it was sent by that strange woman, Sara Owen, through his driver. How idiotic! He had been sitting alone in the dining room and the facial expressions were cold but his heart was complicated. He sighed and opened the lid of the box. With this, his breaths filled with the delicious smell of the food.

Sara Owen looked at the telephone in front of her. She raised her palm and held the receiver in a daze. After thinking for a moment, she called Gracie, her best friend.

“Hello. Gracie here.”

“Gracie. I am Sara.”

“Sara? You bitch. Where are you? Do you know how worried I am? Can’t you once call me?”

“Gracie, let’s meet and talk.”

It was still afternoon and they had decided to meet in the evening. The driver had returned from the Dixon Group with the empty lunch box and gave it to Sara Owen who was watering the plants on the porch.

“Did he eat, Jack?”

“Yes.”

“Thank you.” Sara Owen sighed and gave him a pleasant smile.

“Madam. Get ready. I am asked to take you to the supermarket.”

“Okay, wait for me for a while.”

Sara Owen brought the card he had given to her and Jack drove to the supermarket.

“Madam.” When he stopped the car, he looked at her from the rear mirror.

“Yes.”

“Please don’t buy ginger for the young master. It doesn’t suit his health.” As soon as she heard his words, she recalled that night when she used ginger in the meal and he vomited. She smiled awkwardly and nodded.

Sara Owen bought many things useful for cooking and cleaning using the card. After the supermarket, he drove to the mall.

“Jack, why did you bring me here?”

“Madam, please buy some sleepers and dresses for you.”

“What?”

Sara Owen became stunned when she came to know that Yohan Dixon had asked Jack for this. She hesitantly looked at the gate of the mall.

“Jack, let’s go to the restaurant. I can’t buy from here.” She did not have money and she was not qualified to purchase things from such a mall that belonged to high society.

They went to the restaurant where Gracie was waiting for Sara Owen.

Gracie and Sara Owen were sipping coffee in a restaurant. Gracie was staring at the white car parked out of the restaurant from the glass wall.

"Is he seriously Mr Dixon's driver?" She asked in a trance.

"Can't you see the logo 'Dixon' on the car? Look at his uniform." Sara Owen put the coffee mug on the table and Gracie looked at her with surprise.

"You have gone through a lot in the last days."

Sara Owen looked at the coffee mug in front of her and smiled sadly.

"When he saved me that night, I felt, he is the one and only one who can save me and I didn't think of letting him go. I feel safe with him around me."

"So have you already plan to not to move out of the October villa?"

"Not yet. I am scared that I am weak enough to face Adrian."

"That son of a bitch has already lost you to his friends and I know he is never going to make it up. He is a loser."

Sara Owen did not react and stared at the mug sadly.

"How could you marry such a scoundrel who even bet his wife in gambling? When I went to see you in the club last night, he was banging with a woman. When I asked the manager, he informed me what had happened with you that night. I was scared and if I would haven't gotten your call today, I would have sued your husband."

Sara Owen looked at her angry friend with a slight smile and then held her palm gently.

"I am fine."

"I am grateful to Mr Dixon." Gracie sipped coffee and Sara Owen finally smiled dazzlingly.

Gracie sighed and leaned back on the chair after finishing the coffee.

“Now, what are you going to do?”

“I don’t know. But I have promised him that I will serve him till the end of my life.” She said seriously and Gracie widened her eyes in surprise.

“Is he going to pay?”

“He will give me food and safe shelter to live in. What else do I need?”

“Stupid woman. At least you should have money to buy sanitary pads!”

Sara Owen hasn’t thought about this once! She blinked her eyes and Gracie sighed helplessly.

“Sara, you should ask him to give you your salary.”

“I…”

“Or else find another job.”

“No. I mean I have already asked him that I will be his maid.”

“Then he must pay you. Wait and watch.”

Sara Owen lowered her gaze and looked at the glass of the water in front of her in a daze. He had given her a card for ‘expenses’ but it seemed that she was confused about which expenses he was talking about? Was it for her? Was it for home expenses?

“You stupid women. What are you thinking about?”

“I… Oh No! I should go. I have to cook.”

“When will we meet again?”

“You can call me on that number which I used to call you today.”

“Done.”

They stood up and came to the car where the driver was waiting for Sara Owen.

“Take care, darling. I will miss you.”

“Don’t worry.”

They embraced each other and Sara Owen got in the car. Jack drove her back to the October villa.
