MasukNathan’s POV I stared at Annette. Her beautiful eyes looked at me puzzlingly. “What do you want to talk about?” She asked. “Well you see I’ve been thinking about leaving town. Starting fresh, somewhere else.” I explained. “What about Ayla?” “I’ll visit when I can but to me, I just need to get out and fix things within myself. If you understand where I’m coming from.” “I do, but I assumed you wanted to be more present for her.” “Believe it or not, I think she already has a good father figure. Alex is great with her and she really doesn’t need me.” “Of course she needs you. You’re her father.” She whispered. “I know and that’s why this is so much harder to do than I expected. I love her but I also love you and I need to grow stronger and become the man I used to be.” I walked over to her and took her hand in mine. “Seeing you with Alex constantly reminds me of the pain and turmoil that keeps brewing inside me. I can’t keep feeling like this Annette.” “I unde
My phone buzzed and I immediately picked it up. I checked it and saw it was a message from Nathan. ‘Congrats.’ It was a simple short text. I replied and put down my phone. I couldn’t believe how things were now. We were a great couple but now here we are separated. Divorced. It was all his doing but now I’m so happy to have Alex and he genuinely loves me. The wedding was set for a few months and I was so excited to plan it. “Wanna go to the zoo?” Alex asked and I nodded. “Of course, I would love that.” “Wonderful. Ayla would love it too.” We got dressed and I prepared a picnic basket. I wore a short cargo pants, a white tank top and sneakers. Alex wore a cargo pants as well and a white T shirt. Ayla matched with us and we looked really cute together. We took a photo together and I posted it on my story. When we arrived at the zoo Ayla was fascinated by all the animals she saw. She babbled and Alex and I laughed at her reaction to seeing them. “She’
After our splendid morning, we went to get Ayla. She babbled when she saw me. I scooped her into my arms and kissed her forehead. “Hello baby did you miss me?” I said and she cooed. “Thank you so much for watching her.” I told Nathan’s mom and she smiled. “It’s no problem at all. She’s perfect—such a joy to have.” After we took Ayla, Alex and I went to have lunch. We drove to a cozy little café Alex had found—one with soft music, shaded outdoor seating, and the kind of calm that made you want to stay for hours. “She’s growing so fast,” Alex murmured, watching her with a soft look in his eyes. “Feels like just yesterday she was this tiny bundle.” I smiled, brushing a crumb from Ayla’s cheek. “Now she’s babbling, crawling everywhere, and trying to take her first steps.” He reached across the table and squeezed my hand. “You’re doing such an amazing job with her.” My heart swelled at his words. Sometimes, in the middle of diapers and late-night feeds, I forgot how f
"Good morning beautiful." Alex stroked my hair and kissed my forehead. "Good morning baby." I dove into his arms and he chuckled. "You're too cute." "Let us go downstairs for breakfast." "Sure." I yawned as I got up. As we walk downstairs the smell of pancakes greeted me. I saw an entire breakfast spread that made me gasp. There were croissants, bacon and eggs. A jug of freshly squeezed orange juice sat beside a steaming pot of coffee. Alex smiled at my expression. “Surprise. I wanted to treat you.” “Did you make all this?” I asked, turning to him in awe. Alex pulled out a chair for me. “ Yes. Sit, my queen.” I giggled as I took my seat. “This feels like a dream.” He leaned down to whisper, “Only the beginning.” “I love you so much Annie and nothing can ever change that.” He kissed my forehead and I smiled. “I love you too Alex. You are everything I’ve ever wanted and you changed me for the better.” After we had breakfast, Alex and I showered together an
“Yes! I will marry you.” I dove into his arms and hugged him tightly. “I love you so much Annette.” “I love you more.” He slid the ring onto my finger and kissed my lips. “This was really beautiful.” I admitted and he smiled. “I wanted the best for you, my love.” “It really is the best baby and I appreciate all that you do for me.” I stared at the ring on my finger, I couldn’t believe I was getting married again. It’s funny how I was about to become Mrs. Taylor once again. We sat down and ate dinner then Alex took me home. “Aren’t we getting Ayla?” I asked and he shook his head. “Well, I kind of had something else in mind.” "Aren't you full of surprises?" “Trust me, you’ll love it.” I stepped out of the car and walked into the house. It was beautifully decorated. There was a record player. Alex turned it on and walked over to me. He took my hands and we danced as laid my chin on his chest, enjoying our moment. “Alex, this is lovely. The way you’
Being a mom was an entirely new experience. The sleepless nights, the constant worry, the overwhelming love — no one could’ve prepared me for the way my heart shifted the moment Ayla was born. Suddenly, everything revolved around her: when she ate, how she slept, the sound of every cry. My body still ached, and my emotions were all over the place, but one look at her tiny face, and I knew I’d go through it all again a thousand times.Alex had been incredible — patient, loving, attentive. He never treated her like someone else’s child. In his arms, she was his.Every bottle he made, every diaper he changed, every time he took her so I could rest — it reminded me I wasn’t doing this alone. And even though our situation was complicated, our little girl had more love than she could ever need.Motherhood wasn’t easy. But it was mine now. And I was ready. Before I knew it, she was already six months babbling and cooing as her beautiful eyes gazed up at me. Where did the time go?“Are you
