I couldn't sleep that night, wondering what kind of mess I had gotten myself into. If it weren't for the nap I took for my wounds to heal during the day, I would probably be exhausted by the time I needed to get out of bed. I ate my breakfast quickly, put on a pair of jeans and a black fitted top, and got ready for another strange day of working as the so-called Alpha King's bodyguard. I was about to leave my room when I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in, whoever you are," I said, putting my sneakers on.

"Hello, beautiful!" Felix called out, entering my room.

I smiled. It was sweet of him, although, with my pale face and dark circles under my eyes, I was certain that I looked anything but. "Are you here to escort me?" I asked, giving him a little wink.

"Yup. Alpha is in his office, taking care of some papers. We need to go to the audience hall just in case Alpha Marcus arrives earlier than he said he would," Felix explained.
