I couldn't believe what Oscar had just told his mother. Was he telling the truth, or was he trying to shut her up?

"You are lying?" the woman yelled, with tears streaming down her face. It was as if she had heard the worst news of her life.

"No, mother, I am not," Oscar replied.

"When did it happen?" She asked.

"The day she called to me on the street." He confessed to her, and I began to believe he was telling her the truth.

She began to hit his chest, weeping profusely. I honestly thought finding a fated mate for a werewolf was a big deal. I thought it was a thing of joy, something to celebrate. With the way his mother had behaved and with the way Oscar had broken the news to her, it sounded more like a curse, a bad thing, a disease, a plague. It sounded like someone had died a horrible death. I began to feel shame. I felt out of place, and somehow, I felt like a burden and a curse on this Alpha. If that was the reason why he had shown me so much love, then it really wasn't wort
