I would love to hear what you think of the story so far in the comments or on my socials!
Aurora POV "I am sorry, miss, I don't know what to tell you! I have no record of you being called in today." The desk clerk explained for the third time. "But I have a voicemail asking me to come in to answer questions about the murder last night." I moaned, searching for my phone in my pocket, also for the third time. "You must have left it in the car!" Ava expressed with exasperation. "No! I didn't! I remember grabbing it before I got out of the car!" I groaned, searching my bag and all my pockets again as the clerk asked if I could remember who the voicemail was from. "Perhaps you dropped it outside when you were flirting with Hugo!" Ava snapped, making me groan! "I was hardly flirting!" I growled, replaying the scene from outside while searching in my bag again. "You know damn well in Hugo's language THAT was flirting." Ava laughed, making me wince; she was right, of course; it seemed she always was! At least lately! "Ma'am?" The clerk asked, motioning to the queue form
Aurora POV "Technically, you're my mate! You never formally rejected me!" Hugo expressed with a wiggle of his perfectly shaped brows, brows that a teenage girl would die for. Was this fucker for real! "I'd say marrying your brother was a pretty clear rejection dickhead!" I snapped without a care for his feelings! Seeing the tension lines form around his eyes, I knew I had hit a nerve and should tread carefully before I set off the bomb that is Hugo! "Fuck it! In for a penny, in for a pound!" I decided, ignoring Ava's whining. "Aurora!" Ava warned, picking up on the heat rising between us! "We have an audience!" I could hear the concern in her voice, but I was too far gone to give two fucks. Besides, that audience would be what saved me from the self-righteous Azure twins! "And... you're my wife!" Alec chimed in, pushing me past the point of return; if this had been years ago, Alec would have destroyed Hugo for alluding to such a thing as sharing me. It seems the brothers had g
Aurora POV "She is drunk! Ignore her!" Hugo waved off, stepping closer, but the blonde stepped in front of me, blocking their access to me while shaking her head. It would look like I was in danger to those watching, and she sensed it and stepped in to protect me! Although she and I knew that was not why she was doing this, I saw the dollar signs in her eyes the second I started talking! This story had the potential to make a career! She was doing it because she wanted to look good on camera. And to do that, she would need to look like the reporter who swooped in and saved the damsel! We all knew no matter what way this story went; she would come out on top! She was either the reporter who protected the innocent female threatened by her ex-husband and billionaire brother! Or the report who had exposed a lying female trying to bring down a billionaire playboy and his brother! Freezing, I waited with bated breath to see what way she was going to go. "No!" She finally said, shaking
Alec POV Sitting back in my office chair, I looked down at where my hands sat in my lap, twisting a coin absentmindedly over my knuckles, something I only did when I was stressed. My eyes had been glued to the TV screen for the last three hours, watching the news channel running Aurora's story. "Our story!" Wrath grumbled, and as usual, he was right; Aurora had plastered mine and Hugo's names all over the news and not for the right reason. I had watched people pick our life and history apart, examining my father's death under a microscope and openly debating whether Hugo and I had anything to do with it! And now word had gotten out about another murder, the verdict was in, and Hugo and I were guilty as charged! I had already had several calls from investors in a panic, threatening to pull money and support. Aurora's little stunt would cost me dearly and bite me in the ass! I would have to return the favor and take it out on her plump little ass! "What are we gonna do about this s
Aurora POV "What are they playing at?" I bellowed, throwing the glass at the wall in frustration; it had been half a day since I had outed Alec and Hugo to the world on national TV. I had accused them of murder, stalking, harassment and threats to kidnap and kill me. I knew I had taken things too far, but I was so over running I needed to secure my safety and that of those I cared for. "They left me no choice! This was the only way I could keep everyone safe!" I groaned, letting my head fall back, screaming at the top of my lungs. "You are disappointed that they haven't contacted you?" Ava replied in response; she was right, which irritated me! But I had to admit I was a little disappointed I hadn't heard from either of them! Hugo had spent months tormenting me via text, and now I fought back he backed down and sulked back into his man cave, and I had taken the reins from Alec, which I imagine was driving him crazy! "It seems, Mr I need to control everything, and anyone has sudde
Alec POV "What I don't get is that bitch is out there playing the victim, dragging our name through the mud, and you act like it's just another day in the fucking office!" Hugo vented at me as if I could change things with a click of my fingers. "And you're here talking about presents and shit!! He added with a scoff that made my jaw clench slightly. "Brother, do I look worried?" I asked, turning to face him as we reached the basement door, softening my expression, not wanting to argue but done with his tantrum. "No, and that's the point I am trying to make. Why don't you seem more upset about the fact that whore.." "Careful!" I warned, narrowing my eyes on my brother's blue hues. She may be a pain in my ass, but she was my pain in the ass, and I did not appreciate him running his mouth. "Like I said, do I seem worried?" I repeated my question, keeping my tone level. "No!" He huffed, crossing his arms and looking at me suspiciously. "Right, so if I am not worried, can you
Aurora POV Bolting through the moonlit wood, Ava paused momentarily to look up at the silver moon that illuminated even the darkest corner of the forest, the sombre taste in the air causing the hairs on the back of her neck to prickle. The questionable sounds of men trudging across the brittle woodland instantly confirmed seeing a tall male in the distance. "Human!" Ava laughed! His mouth locked in a steely line as he stared at me, his brain undoubtedly trying to catch up with what his eyes saw! "We haven't eaten all day; what's one little human!" She teased. "He is hardly little. He looks more like a damn giant!" I chuckled as she crouched down like a lioness, ready to pounce on her prey; the ear-splitting scream that left the giant's lips as he bolted in the opposite direction had me snickering in the back of Ava's mind. "Not so brave for a giant after all! Running from a little wolf!" She grinned! "Do we need to get your eyes checked because you are hardly little!" I counted
Hugo POV "You sure you don't wanna answer my brother's questions?" I quizzed as I picked up a scalpel inspecting it in the light to make sure it was clean; the last thing I needed was for this fucker to get an infection and start puking his guts up or, worse, die from sepsis! Humans weren't as resilient as us Wolves. Pathetic bastards! "I am sure, princess." The fat bastard chimed behind me, his voice laced with a sense of false bravery that made me smile. "Ohh Does that make you my King?" I mocked, turning to face him, a sinister smile painting my lips. "No! Your worst nightmare!" He spat at me, disgusted, but his eyes flicked between mine and the shiny scalpel I had in my hand. Winking at him, I leaned closer to where he hung from the ceiling. Lifting his chin to look at me, I nodded slowly. "Oh sweetie, you are probably right; see, when I am done, and you talk." His lips parted, but I silenced them by placing the tip of my blade against his puckered lips. "And make NO mista
