14: THE COUNCIL

The Council chamber was a grand and imposing hall, its walls adorned with ancient designs and elaborate and well-decorated carvings that spoke of a long and well-documented history. At the head of the chamber, a raised platform held the seats of the elders, each one carved from solid oak and adorned with intricate symbols of authority.

In all my days dating Alpha Jo and moving around with him, he had never brought me to the Council chambers even when I pleaded on several occasions. No one will come in here and not feel intimidated or flawed by its design and intricate sacredness.

As I entered the chamber, flanked by guards whose stern visages spoke of a lifetime of battle, I couldn't help but feel a shiver run down my spine at the sight of the Council seated before me. Their positions were deliberate, their presence commanding respect and awe as they presided over the proceedings with an air of solemnity and gravitas.
