Author's POV

Lyra was quite disappointed that Damian let Elara go too easily. Too easily. She had hoped that he would punish her but instead, he had cared about the wounds on her face and neck. Even asked questions like he was some fucking doctor. He left the mother of his heir on the floor while caring about some woman who couldn't even give him a child.

How pathetic.

So annoying.

She was seething internally as Damian was helping her to rub her stomach. To ease the fake pain, she claimed to have. And more than that she was scared of Elara's threats. Even with Damian's warning to Elara, she still couldn't calm the different possibilities raging her thoughts.

What if she actually poisoned her too?

What if she lost her baby? Then she would be of no use to Damian anymore.

She won't even be able to become the Luna.

That witch.

No. Never. She can't let that happen. Especially, when she is already this close to getting everything she had long dreamed of.

"Damian....." She called,

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 173

Elara's POV The visit to Elder Gregory didn't really yield something positive like I had expected. Even though I had explained everything for him without hiding a single truth. Even asked him if he knew about Damian's family or if my father had committed the crimes Damian accused him of. But he said, he didn't know about Damian's family since Damian never told me his real and family name till date. And he wasn't sure about my father's involvement either. After so much discussion, he asked me to wait for now just like the Elders had agreed.Wait! Wait!! Wait!!!For how long will I keep doing that? I have waited for six months and instead of things getting better for me, instead of me winning, everyday has become a relentless struggle. Everyday has become a battle where I have to fight fiercely to survive until the next day. This is not what I expected. Not at all. I had thought that he would find an immediate solution but apparently they seem to be scared of Damian. They seem to thi

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 172

Author's POV Lyra blinked, hoping she didn't hear him properly. The sheer audacity of it all. He still trusted her. Defended her. "You seem to still trust her a lot despite everything that has happened between you two." "No, I don't," he snapped. He quickly changed his words. "Right, she might try to poison you... but you'll be safe. There are private guards to watch you. They would make sure to keep you safe." His hand reached out to her stomach and continued to rub it gently. "Is the pain gone?" "What pain?" She asked, forgetting the lie she cooked up. Damian's face crumpled in confusion. She quickly regained herself, and entered her dramatic mood. "Ahhhh.... I'm still feeling it. Just a little though." She whimpered, her face twisted with pain. "Sorry, Lyra," he whispered, still oblivious of the fact that she was merely fooling him. Lyra nodded, lieing back. "But still I want to have my own private chef. With Elara's threats, I can't trust the kitchen staff with my meal anymo

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 170

Elara's POV She didn't say anything. She couldn't. She was as shocked as I was when she did hers. I turned to leave. Before I could take a step, her painful cry rang out behind me. Then followed by Damian's voice. "What happened to you, Lyra?" He asked, his voice filled with dread like she was stabbed in the stomach. I turned back to see her sprawled on the bare floor, clutching her stomach, her face tight with pain. "Ohhhh..... my baby," she cried out. I didn't do anything. I remained calm because I knew her plans too well. She was such a dramatic bitch and wants nothing than to paint me badly in front of Damian. But I don't care. That bastard could see me anyhow he deemed fit. Not like it mattered anyways. Damian was running towards us like he was coming to save a whole nation. "What happened?" He asked, crouching down beside her, his hands resting protectively on her stomach. "Are you okay?" I scoffed at the pathetic scene playing out before me. I feel disgusted. "It's E

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 169

Elara's POV "Look who's here?" A mocking voice echoed behind me as I made my way towards my former room to catch some rest. I had tried to escape inside there—it was the only place that felt sanctuary. The only place that felt like the burden of the world isn't weighing down on me but then even that seems like a price that I have to work hard to earn. I didn't need to turn to know who the voice belonged to. I don't need to see who'd be bold enough to speak to the Luna in such a condescending manner. Of course, it was no other person than the bitch who killed my child and yet goes unpunished. In fact should I say, her situation got better. Thanks to the crime, she had Damian wrapped under her fingers and he now treated her like a golden egg. His words when he sent me out of his room dropped into my mind again: Only the woman who was carrying his child is allowed to stay in the room. Really? It had come to that. I couldn't help but think that he would say the same statement to m

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 168

Author's POV After the meeting had ended, the elders marched out of the hall and just as they reached the courtyard, Elder Scrolls legs felt like they didn't belong to him anymore. He had felt it but he thought he could manage until he reached his mansion but finally they buckled beneath him and he stumbled. His body hit the floor sharply, pain rippling through his side. "Ohh...." He winced in pain, lieing flat on the floor. He couldn't stand back on his own. "Please...." He called out. The other Elders noticed him and quickly rushed to help him out, their expression and voices plagued with concern as they pulled him to his feet. "Are you okay," Elder Seraphina asked, her eyes narrowing in a mix of fear and shock. "Is it your joint?" He nodded, swinging his arms across the shoulders of the two Elders who pulled him up and were already moving towards the palace gate to take him to his mansion that was just a stone away. Elder Scrolls health conditions was no news to anyone of t
