Elara's POV

"No!" I screamed as the guards seized me once more. "Damian you're mistaken! I didn't try to kill you!" I kept talking, desperation clawing at me in a futile hope that he would believe me but Damian wasn't listening. Instead he watched as the guards led me away roughly.

"She stays there until I decide her punishment." He added, before standing up and walked away from the grand hall.

I strained my neck backwards, my eyes darting around but no one—the elders, guards and servants, the pack members—seemed to believe that I wasn't innocent. The look on their faces only made me feel worse—felt like a traitor.

Only Ethan stood by a corner, his eyes darkened with anger and his fingers clenched at his side like he was barely restraining himself from taking charge of the situation. He gave me a quiet nod, assuring that he would keep investigating and would get me out.

Of course, I trusted him but I couldn't stop the fear raging inside me.

Elara’s POV “What did the doctor say caused the bleeding?” I asked, my voice hoarse from crying when I remembered we were having dinner when I started bleeding without feeling any initial pain. Damian hesitated before answering, “He said… stress. That your body had taken too much of it lately, and the pregnancy couldn’t hold on.” Stress? That didn’t make sense. I’ve always been stressed. Since the day I arrived here, every moment has been a battlefield of fear, uncertainty, and survival. And the baby… she was strong. She had survived the prison, the long days of neglect, the numerous hospital visits during my sickness, and even the symptoms of my brain cancer and now that I was even more relaxed, I had suddenly bled out. “Stress?” I echoed, furrowing my brows in disbelief. “I’ve always been under stress. Why now? Why suddenly? It doesn't seem like it is." His jaw tensed as he explained to me smoothly, “The doctor confirmed it. He ran the tests. And diagnosed that was the cause.”

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 131

Elara’s POVIt was quiet. Too quiet. And the scary thing was that this was not the kind of quiet that brings peace. This quietness brings pain and chaos. The kind that feels endless… like I'm not truly myself.I was standing in a place that wasn’t real. It wasn't a forest and neither was it the palace. There was a full moon casting a glow on me. Then she appeared. The Moon Goddess.Or maybe it was just a dream. But she was there—tall, luminous, her silver eyes glowing with wisdom and sadness.“Elara,” she said softly. “You were not meant to leave just yet.”Leave yet? I stared at her, confused. “Am I dead?”“No,” she replied. “But you’re close. You’ve fought too long with your heart buried. You carry too much pain with you. And now… your child bears it too.”My hands flew to my belly. It still ached, but here in this dream, I felt warmth again. Then emptiness. “My baby?” I whispered. It was silent for a while before she spoke again.“She’s gone,” the Goddess said. “And you need to be

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 130

Damian’s POVI didn't let the driver drive. No. I drove myself, like a madman towards the Pack hospital. Car tires screeching, my heart pounding louder than any sound and my mind was totally blank. I haven't been so scared like I was in my entire life.“Elara, stay with me,” I kept saying, straining my eyes backwards. Her blood was already soaked into the backseat, dripping and terrifying. “Don’t close your eyes: just stay awake please." But she wasn’t listening. The pain was too unbearable for her. Her face was pale, her lips trembling, her eyes fluttering. She whimpered one last time, “My baby… please…”And then nothing else. Her body went limp and I thought she was gone.“No, no, no—Elara!” I shouted, slamming the heel of my palm against the steering wheel. “Don’t do this to me!”Guards were shouting when we reached the hospital. I didn’t hear them. I didn’t care. I carried her inside, yelling at the physicians, threatening, begging, anything to get them to move faster.“She’s ble

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 129

Elara’s POV'Why was he looking at me like that?' I thought. 'And why was he being overly nice?' I sat across Damian at the long table in the eastern dining chamber, slowly spooning the warm soup to my lips. The rich aroma of spices filled the air, and under any other circumstance, it might have felt like a moment of calm. But with Damian watching me so intently, swallowing every bite felt like a battle. He was speaking, his voice smooth but laced with something deeper. Regret? Guilt? I couldn’t tell. "You’ve become quite bold lately," he said, cutting a piece of meat on his plate, this time he wasn't looking at me. "You're so determined to cross me at every turn. Was that the reason why you came back to the palace? To challenge me?"I looked up and smiled faintly, though there was no real warmth behind it. “You pushed me to the wall." I wanted to tell him that I had come here to challenge him, to end his reign but I decided against it. If Damian was being soft then he's definitely

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 128

Author's POV"Should I do it or not," Lyra whispered for the tenth time today. She couldn't seem to make up her mind, especially that she has a child growing inside her and she knows the exact pain she would feel if someone hurts her child. She sat alone in the dim room, the small vial of wolfsbane resting on her palm like a curse waiting to be unraveled. Her fingers tightened around it, trembling over so slightly. Her mind was still racing, torn between fear and determination. It’s just a child… her child, the voice of reason whispered. An innocent one. Do you really want to cross that line? But then another voice which was cold, ruthless and unforgiving answered: She didn’t think twice before humiliating you. If you don’t strike now, you’ll lose everything. Kael’s right—this is the only way to do something great in the future. For a moment, she thought of involving Clara in the task. Clara was sly, dependable, and had proven useful in the past few days. But Clara can't be fully tru

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 127

Author's POVKael let out a low chuckle, his eyes glittering with malice as he circled Lyra like a wolf sizing up its prey. “You want to get back in control?” he murmured, his gaze fixed on hers. “Then let’s aim for the heart, shall we?”Lyra blinked, unsure of what he meant by his words. "Heart? What are you saying?”His smile widened, sinister and cruel. “Elara’s power lies in that child. The reason why she is suddenly refusing to bow down like in the past is because of that child. If we want to break down her fighting spirit then we need to take care of the only thing keeping her going. And the pain would keep her down for a while, giving us the chance to get rid of Damian."Lyra gasped, her hand flying to her mouth as the meaning of his words settled in, her body tensing. “You mean…?”Kael nodded slowly. "Yes... We have to get rid of that child. I have been thinking about it since the day you told me about it."Lyra's heart surged with fear. Get rid of an innocent child? The plan

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 126

Author's POV"I.... need," the words died in Lyra's mouth as she wondered how Kael was able to see through her so clearly. And from his tone, she could see how much he enjoyed seeing her so shameless like this. But she didn't mind. This was no time to save face.Kael watched her, eyes gleaming with dark intent studying her like a cornered animal. The way she knelt before him, trembling, begging—it was a sight he’d always wanted to see. She should be below him. Always. On her feet worshipping him just like this. But now that it was real, it felt hollow. Kael knew that Lyra was a master manipulator, and he knows better than to trust her display of humility at face value.Still, he couldn’t deny the thrill of seeing her like this.He bent down in front of her, brushing a strand of hair from her face, tilting her chin up with a finger, and forcing her to meet his gaze. “You haven’t answered me yet," he said, voice low and measured like he didn't know exactly what she wanted. “What exactly

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 125

Author's POV Damian didn’t answer because Lyra was right. He had promised her all that. He just turned and stormed out of the study, leaving the door swinging behind him. The silence that followed felt louder than any fight. The air around Lyra crackled with disbelief. She stood there for several minutes, frozen in place, the words trying to gain Elara’s favor looping in her mind like a curse that is meant to suffocate her to death. Her lips trembled with rage. He used me. Both Kael and Damian. No matter what she does, it seems none of the men in her life would truly see all her efforts. Why is she so unfortunate? The realization punched through her gut like a blade. He never intended to keep any of his promises. And the fact that it was Damian whom she thought cared about her, made it even more painful. He wants to abandon her after she has done everything according to his plans and save his own ass. Get on Elara's good side? The words echoed again. Never would she bow to Elara.

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 124

Author's POV Lyra pushed open the doors to Damian’s private study, her heels clicking with a confident purpose against the marble floor. She found him by the liquor cabinet, nursing a glass of something dark, his jaw tense, eyes blazing with barely contained fury. He was angry, even his wolf was attesting to it from the way it's growling beneath him. Good, she thought smugly. He must’ve put Elara in her place. He must have taught her how to behave and now she would be able to get back her position at the company. She heaved a sigh of relief when she remembered all she went through from Mrs. Williams today. She can't wait to pay her and her coworkers back. They humiliated her, mocked her and dared make her serve them coffee! They would suffer and she would show them she was back—now stronger than ever. So next time, they would choose carefully where their loyalty lies between her and Elara. Smiling seductively, Lyra walked up to him and draped her arms over his shoulders, placing
