A second chance

After unraveling the whole confusion, Claudia couldn't help but wept. Much as she tried not to break down while sitting next to her on the sofa, tears trickled down her cheeks uncontrollably.

She was heartbroken. The awful feeling of being lied to by the one person you trusted, and loved most was unbearable for her to conceal. The moment Gwendolyn ended her last statement with ‘I'm sorry. I lied to you’ She had the yen to yell at her, stomp out of her room but all she could do was stare at her, nearly speechless. She didn't know how to begin her word. The man she had started to get fond of was no one but a stranger. A future she presumed for both of them was false. They dashed her hopes. Now she eventually understood her words when she told her never to get her hopes up.
