LOGIN“I’m the one who gave him permission, Uncle.”
Everyone immediately turned to look at the person who had just answered John’s question.
John raised an eyebrow, signaling that he didn’t like what the person had said.
Meanwhile, Nathan flashed a smile at her. “Angela.”
Angela Jackson ignored her husband’s call and walked toward her uncle with a blank expression on her face.
Angela Jackson served as the marketing director at the Jackson Group.
Everyone knew the background of that beautiful woman and regretted that a woman with such a brilliant career had married a loser of unclear origins.
Some people tried to destroy Angela and Nathan’s marriage, but none of them succeeded.
John clenched his teeth, holding back his frustration, “Angela, I’ve already told you that I don’t accept-”
“Uncle, I’m still the marketing director and I hold shares in the Jackson Group. You know full well that I also have the right to decide who can attend this party.”
John snorted, “But this loser-”
“Nathan is my husband, Uncle. Besides, this party is being held to celebrate winning the bid I was involved in as well. So, there’s nothing wrong with Nathan being here. Right, Uncle?”
John gritted his teeth, furious at Angela’s defense of her husband.
He glanced around at the people clearly staring at him with questioning looks.
Some of them seemed to be mocking him for being unable to stand up to his niece.
But Angela held a significant stake in the company he currently led, so he couldn’t ignore her words.
Moreover, since they were in front of so many people, John clearly had to swallow his frustration whole.
“So … when is this party going to start, Uncle?” Angela asked again, ignoring her uncle’s angry expression.
John tried to calm himself and replied in a normal tone, “Soon.”
Angela responded with a small nod.
“Alright, then … just enjoy the party for now.” John said softly, but before he left the area, he took the time to whisper in his niece’s ear, “Angela, you shouldn’t still be with this loser. You should consider Ben.”
Angela frowned and looked at her uncle with a confused expression. “He ….”
John grinned, “I invited him tonight, but … I don’t know if he’ll show up or not.”
“You shouldn’t have invited him, Uncle. Ben and I don’t have any kind of relationship anymore,” Angela said in as quiet a voice as she could manage.
John snorted, “But … he still really likes you, and you’d better think this through carefully or you’ll regret choosing that loser.”
“Nathan is my husband, Uncle. Grandpa … wouldn’t possibly set me up with a bad man,” Angela replied.
John clicked his tongue, “You’ll regret it if you don’t listen to my advice.”
John let out a harsh sigh and walked away from his niece, followed by Lucy and Harry, who could only shoot angry glances at Angela.
The crowd that had gathered around the beautiful woman and her husband finally began to disperse.
Angela closed her eyes.
What was she actually doing? She had ignited a fire of hostility with her own family just to defend Nathan.
Why was she doing this? Angela could only sigh.
“Angela, thank you.”
Angela snorted, “Is that all? I got your useless thanks, Nathan?”
“Angela, just be patient for a moment!”
“Be patient for what? What exactly do you plan to do? Come on, Nathan! I … I’m not expecting you to suddenly become a billionaire.” Angela sighed softly and continued, “I just want you to at least have a job that doesn’t embarrass me.”
Nathan smiled at the beautiful woman who, though she was always harsh with him, had never once slapped him or even insulted him.
“Don’t worry! It won’t be long now, Angela.”
Angela snorted, “What’s not going to be long?”
“You … can hold your head high when you’re with me,” Nathan said, making Angela feel self-conscious.
She didn’t need sweet promises, but right now, that was all Nathan could offer.
Not long after that, the victory celebration began.
As usual, Angela immediately joined the other shareholders, while Nathan stood at the very back.
He was used to situations like that. He was indeed a son-in-law who was never taken seriously in that family, but Nathan never complained.
At least this family had allowed him to live among ordinary people. No one knew his true identity, and that was what kept him in the family.
“Only 39 days left. It won’t be long now,” Nathan said as he watched his wife, who was currently giving a short speech.
In the middle of the party, Nathan chose to stand on the sidelines, observing everything that was happening.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until a few people entered the main living room carrying a large bouquet.
That immediately caught the attention of all the guests there.
Almost all the guests had gathered around the bouquet, which was over a meter tall.
The bouquet didn’t contain beautiful flowers, but rather something so dazzling it hurt the eyes.
“Wow! Who was generous enough to give such a lavish gift?”
“But … by the way, who is the bouquet for?”
Two couriers were still arranging the bouquet. As soon as they finished, they immediately approached the host to deliver the sender’s message.
“Sir, there’s a letter from Young Master Walter for … Miss Angela.”
Everyone gasped in surprise.
Nathan immediately turned toward his wife, who was now standing beside his uncle.
'Him again? When is he going to stop bothering Angela?' Nathan thought to himself, clenching his fists tightly.
John smiled, “Look, Angela! He … didn’t come, but he sent this luxurious gift for you.”
Angela didn’t respond and just stared at the sparkling bouquet with a blank expression.
“I knew it. Who else could send a bouquet filled with diamonds like this besides that generous Ben Walter?”
“No one is as rich yet as generous as the handsome Young Master Walter.”
A middle-aged woman even commented, “Goodness, Ben Walter really can’t seem to move on. He still loves Angela Jackson.”
“Oh, Angela really is so beautiful. Who could forget her beautiful face?”
“You’re right. Angela should divorce that loser of a husband and consider going back to Ben Walter. A woman as beautiful as she is, with such a brilliant career, deserves a husband who’s just as amazing as she is.”
All those comments made Nathan clench his fists.
He could give her something more expensive than what Ben had given his wife.
But he couldn’t do any of that right now because he still couldn’t freely access all his bank accounts.
He still had to wait another month before he could use them all.
“Angela, you’re really so lucky. Ben still seems completely smitten with you,” Harry said, gazing admiringly at the bouquet.
Lucy chuckled, “If I were you, I’d definitely divorce Nathan right away and go back to Ben. Becoming Mrs. Walter certainly wouldn’t be a bad deal.”
John smiled contentedly and was now completely certain that his niece was beginning to have second thoughts about continuing her relationship with Nathan.
However, he instead heard Angela say, “Uncle, I can’t accept this. Please, send it back to Young Master Walter.”
As if unwilling to let Josh Grey evade the subject, Nathan spoke again."A wise king who is loved by his people should remain on the throne.""You don't know anything, so you'd better keep your mouth shut!" Josh shot back sharply.Nathan was about to respond, but Josh cut him off first."Your real reason for entering my kingdom is to find Aresh Vian. I ... will help you find him today."After saying that, Josh remained silent for the rest of the journey until they arrived at a residence within the royal palace. The residence was reserved for guests from foreign kingdoms."Have a good rest. I'll let you know as soon as my men find the trail of the miracle doctor you're so eager to meet," Josh said coldly.Nathan simply replied, "Thank you."Josh gave no response and walked away with his men. After they had left, Dilion, who had quietly observed everything until then, finally spoke."It doesn't seem like he'll change his mind, General. He's still going to help that corrupt Prime Ministe
Dilion couldn't help but feel a little regretful for telling Nathaniel Lee about Josh Grey's situation. His commanding general had never been the type to stand by and watch injustice unfold before his eyes. Moreover, the matter closely resembled something Nathan himself had once experienced. Dilion was certain that Nathan would feel compelled to help the Ashwin Kingdom's war general. As a result, Dilion had no choice but to agree to help his general meet the man as soon as possible so they could return their focus to their primary mission—finding Aresh Vian."Very well, General. I'll find a way as soon as possible," Dilion said.Afterward, Nathan studied several documents about the kingdom and became even more convinced that he needed to meet Josh Grey without delay. The co-pilot informed them that they would be landing shortly, and Nathan began making preparations.Although all five of them had been wearing combat gear during the flight, they changed into ordinary clothes as soon as
Dilion explained, “There’s a serious problem unfolding in the Kingdom of Ashwin, General.”Nathan raised an eyebrow and immediately asked, “A problem? What kind of problem?”Ah, Nathan couldn't help feeling a little annoyed with himself for not gathering enough information about the Kingdom of Ashwin. After all, he was about to travel to a kingdom he had never visited before. He should have been much more cautious.Even though he knew Ashwin wasn't a powerful kingdom like the Kingdom of Veldera, he still thought he had been careless.“Well ... they're dealing with an internal conflict. The King of Ashwin is currently at odds with the Prime Minister. According to the rumors, the Prime Minister wants the King to abdicate because he believes His Majesty has failed to make the kingdom prosper.”Nathan looked at his subordinate with both surprise and curiosity.“And the King refuses to step down?”Dilion shook his head.“On the contrary, the King wants to abdicate as soon as possible and l
Extra Part 7“So, what are you going to do, Nathan?” Jefry asked, a deep frown clearly etched across his face.Nathan let out a quiet sigh. “Of course, I have to find him before anyone else does.”“You're going to leave and search for him?”Nathan nodded and called one of his subordinates over. He gave the man several orders and instructed him to carry them out immediately.Still shocked by Nathan's decision, Jefry asked again, “Are you sure you're going? Isn't—”“I can't just sit here waiting for news, Jeff. I'll be gone for one week. If I still can't find him after a week, I'll come straight back,” Nathan interrupted without the slightest hint of hesitation.Jefry Milton desperately wanted to stop his friend from leaving. However, he knew Nathan was not someone who changed his mind easily. In the end, he abandoned the idea and chose to support him instead.“In that case, don't forget to let me know whenever you find a lead.”Nathan nodded once more.Still unable to put his mind at e
The order continued to echo in Nathan's ears even after he and Jefry left Aldric's study. They walked through the long palace corridors without saying much. Only when they reached the front courtyard did Jefry finally turn to him.“So?”Nathan let out a long sigh.“I haven't given him my answer yet.”“But you will accept.”Nathan glanced at his old friend.“I have a wife now. And a son who is only a few months old.”“And you also have a king who is asking for your help, Nathan. What are you going to do?” Jefry asked.Nathan remained silent.Jefry simply sighed. That night, Nathan told Angela everything. They were in their bedroom. George, their tiny son, was fast asleep in his cradle.Nathan sat on the edge of the bed while Angela listened quietly.“So the king wants to find that doctor for Prince Liam?” Angela asked.Nathan nodded.“His name is Aresh Vian.”“And you may have to go look for him?”“Yes.”Angela fell silent for a moment.Nathan had expected his wife to try to stop him.
“I am serious, Your Majesty.”“But he ... he already put you through ....”The room fell silent once again. The afternoon sunlight streamed through the study window, making the atmosphere feel even calmer.Nathan looked at the two men before him and continued,“I have not forgotten what happened in the past. But he still deserves the chance to regain his sanity.”His gaze lowered slightly.Aldric and Jefry listened quietly. Those words immediately left Aldric speechless.Seeing the king's expression, Nathan smiled faintly.“And I don't want to see Your Majesty burdened with regret for allowing Prince Liam's condition to remain as it is.”For a few moments, no one spoke. Then Aldric finally nodded slowly.“Thank you, General.”Nathan simply returned a small smile.Three days later, a secret operation was set in motion.Under Aldric's orders, Jefry sent letters to kingdoms throughout the continent. The letters were addressed to royal physicians, renowned scholars, herbalists, and expert

Steven grimaced, not daring to answer Nathan’s question. But Nathan casually spoke again, “Steven, I’ve spent more than half my life on the battlefield. And this … isn’t the first time he’s tried to kill me.”“I know that, General. But this time is different. There’s … General Reed, who’s currently
