Chapter 101

Ashley's POV

"You heard that didn't you?" David whispered to me, taking a very slow turn backwards.

I struggled, trying to get up and face him but he made a hushing sound to me.

"Shhh, stay still," he commanded with his fingers pressed on his lips, still in a whisper as he tried to get off the chariot.

His claws shot out in preparation for a fight, but just as his legs touched the ground below, he was attacked from all angles.

I tried calling his name but I covered my mouth with my hand immediately.

What was going on?

I gasped in horror, sitting up and watching as multiple dark figures emerged from the unending darkness with glowing eyes in the moonlight.

David had been surrounded and it seemed like there was no way to escape.

"We come in peace," he tried to say, taking steps backwards. But this only heightened the attacks towards him, claws striking him from all angles.

I gasped again, praying to the moon goddess to spare his life.
