Chapter 4

Author: Anonymous
I leaned back in the chair. I was completely drained, but I breathed a big sigh of relief.

Everyone thought that I was lucky. I was just an orphan with no support, yet I got to marry Orion.

So, during our wedding in my past life, all the attention was on him. Even when people spoke to me, they would only tell me to be thankful and behave.

However, I did just as well as him in school.

Still, the only recognition I got was being “the girl who married Orion.”

This time, I did not want that.

I wanted to live for myself.

The day before our wedding, I sold everything in the apartment that was worth money.

Orion was hardly ever home, and he did not really care about the apartment. Therefore, he did not notice that anything was gone.

He left all the wedding planning to Claudia. But today, he actually asked me to meet him at the bridal shop.

When I arrived, I saw Orion sitting inside.

Just as I walked over, the curtain in front of me drew open.

It was Sofia.

She was wearing a strapless wedding dress and smiling happily.

“Orion, what do you think of this…”

She stopped abruptly, and Orion looked up.

He saw me and quickly explained, “Sofia was just being nice and trying on dresses for you. Don’t be upset.

“You study engineering. You probably don’t have the same fashion sense as someone like her, who studies design.”

Sofia had full makeup on and had clearly done her hair, though. She was not trying to help me.

Seeing that I remained silent, Sofia looked like she was about to cry.

Orion picked up a random wedding dress and handed it to me.

It was a mermaid-style dress, my least favorite.

I tried to say no, but he pushed me toward the fitting room.

“Come on. Sofia tried this one on, and it looked really good.”

However, I was bigger than her. I could not even get it on.

Even the shop assistant offered to find another one for me.

Despite that, Orion stopped her and walked right into the fitting room himself.

I was so shocked that I quickly covered my chest.

Even though we were married in my past life, nothing had happened yet between us in this life.

Even so, Orion did not care.

“Why are you being shy? I’m going to see you eventually.

“Let me see what’s so hard about putting on this dress.”

Then, he came behind me and pulled it up roughly.

I gasped in response. He was tugging on it to the point that I could not breathe. It hurt so much that I almost cried.

“I… I can’t breathe…”

Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my back followed by a cold sensation.

One of the shop assistants rushed in and shouted, “She’s bleeding! Are you crazy?!

“She can’t fit in the dress! Why force her?!”

In my past life, I took care of his family without ever crying.

I also never cried when I learned that they were a real family.

I did not even cry when they pushed me off a cliff.

Today, however, I could not stop crying over a wedding dress that cut my skin.

Sofia came over and pretended to help me. But she did not even bother drawing the curtain close.

However, I was in so much pain that I did not care anymore.

With the shop assistant’s help, I slowly changed back into my own clothes.

Orion suddenly looked like he felt bad. He took me to a cab and brought me to the hospital.

Although I was crying nonstop, I actually felt calm.

The doctor was shocked when he saw me too. He cleaned my wounds gently while he rebuked Orion for being such a terrible boyfriend.

Orion just kept his head down in silence.

After some time, he held my hand and softly said, “I’m sorry. I just thought the dress looked good. That’s why I wanted you to wear it.

“I’ll get you a bigger one tomorrow, okay?”

At this point, he was only willing to compromise a little.

He still wanted me to wear the dress I hated.

I wiped my tears and gave him a gentle smile. “Okay.”

He looked up in surprise and smiled brightly. “That’s great! I knew you wouldn’t take it to heart!”

Of course, I would not because I did not care about the wedding.

The more chaos there was tomorrow, the better.

The thought of messing everything up in front of him made me happy. The officiant went through the steps for our wedding. When it was my turn to speak, he asked, “Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?”“I don’t.”Everyone went silent in shock.Orion looked at me in disbelief, like something broke inside him.“You said the wrong thing, didn’t you?”“Nope.” I smiled and took the microphone from the officiant.“The real bride today is someone else!”Right then, the video I had prepared started playing. It showed many clips of Orion being very close to Sofia.Everyone thought Orion had been really good to me. In their eyes, he was the perfect husband. After that, I pulled a shocked Sofia up on stage.“Look at her! Her dress is fancier than mine, and her makeup is prettier. Sofia needs that money to rent a place!”I was furious. “What does her rent have to do with me? That is the money my parents left me!”I could not believe it. Orion had been using my money to pay for Sofia’s rent!No wonder I previously did not have much money left in my bank account despite my best efforts to save.It looked like the same thing had happened in my past life.He and his family had used up my money!Sofia leaned against the wall and slowly got to her feet.
