Rachel had been lost in thoughts of Faith, her mind completely blank, as she watched Kellan approach her.

The memory of what had happened the day before made her panic, and she pushed him away with force.

However, Kellan took advantage of the situation and pulled her into his arms. His handsome features and deep, sexy voice were mesmerizing, but to Rachel, it felt like a blatant attempt at seduction.

Rachel gritted her teeth and tried to suppress her nausea.

“Help me find Faith,” she said stiffly, forcing herself to maintain a steady tone.

Kellan picked her up and placed her in the driver’s seat before getting into the car himself.

Cora turned around and smiled sweetly at the man in the back seat. She was impressed by Kellan’s tall, handsome figure and luxurious attire.

Rachel, however, was still in shock from being carried into the car.

“Drive,” Kellan growled.

Rachel quickly fastened her seatbelt.

Kellan frowned. “Are you stupid? I told you to wait in the car!”

“It was you… you told me to wait for you!” Rachel shivered as she spoke.

“I told you to wait here, so wait here. Are you stupid?”

Kellan raised an eyebrow, an unfamiliar expression flashing across his face.

His phone rang. Assistant Hall had sent a location.

It was toward Faith’s house, but on a different route.

Rachel felt certain that something was wrong.

She started the car and sped toward the location.

The car remained steady, moving swiftly through the dark roads.

Soon, they reached a deserted suburb far from Faith’s home. The night was eerily quiet.

“Please don’t let anything happen to her,” Rachel prayed silently.

At the edge of the forest, Faith was struggling desperately.

The middle-aged man in front of her was far stronger. Her clothes were torn, and he was trying to assault her.

She struggled with all her strength, but she was running out of energy.

Rachel’s car moved slowly forward. A yellow taxi was parked not far away, and faint sounds came from the forest.

Rachel stopped the car and was about to rush in when a tall figure grabbed her wrist.

“You wait in the car with the child. I’ll handle it,” Kellan said coldly.

Rachel looked up at him. He seemed tall and imposing under the dim light.

Cora’s big black eyes sparkled.

Her “dad” looked like a hero.

“I’ll take care of my own employees. You, a woman with a child, don’t need to get involved,” Kellan added flatly.

Then he strode into the forest.

Faith heard footsteps.

Was someone coming?

Summoning her last bit of strength, she shoved the man away and ran toward the road.

The man chased after her.

She saw a tall, noble-looking man ahead.

“Help—!” she gasped.

“The blue car outside is waiting,” he said coldly.

The middle-aged man shouted angrily, “Mind your own business!”

Faith didn’t dare stop. She ran toward the blue car.

A loud thud echoed behind her.

“Spare me! I won’t do it again!” the strong man begged, trembling after being beaten to the ground.

Rachel saw Faith running toward her and rushed forward.

Faith collapsed into Rachel’s arms.

“Wow…” she cried, breaking down.

“It’s okay. It’s okay,” Rachel whispered, patting her shoulder.

Kellan made sure the man couldn’t get up before walking out of the forest.

Faith was still sobbing.

“Are you hurt?” Rachel asked anxiously.

“I’m okay… Thank you for coming in time,” Faith replied, her voice shaking.

“But didn’t you call me to pick you up? How did you end up in his car?” Rachel asked.

“I was exhausted and hungry. He said he was going the same way and offered me a free ride. He seemed honest… I didn’t know…”

Faith began crying again.

“I called you, but you didn’t answer,” Rachel said.

“My phone was in my bag. When I realized something was wrong and tried to call, he snatched it,” Faith explained.

Faith hugged Rachel tightly.

“Rachel, thank you so much. I don’t know what I would have done without you.”

Kellan stood behind them quietly.

Rachel gently said, “You should thank him. He saved you.”
