It's just a novel

"Zephyrine, why don't you, why don't you go to bed first," I smiled at her a little disconcertingly, "I've still got some charts to finish..."

"There you go again," Zephyrine interrupted, she said helplessly, "Orion, can't you just admit in peace that it was just a novel? You're not three years old anymore, stop thinking about things that just can't happen, okay?"

Zephyrine, however, was still sitting beside me, and she whispered, "You should get some rest, it's getting late."

"You don't keep thinking about all this nothingness," Zephyrine added, her voice sounding tired, "you need to think about things that are actually happening around you, like ...... what I just told you the things I just told you." Zephyrine's voice sank as she said the last few words. I froze for a second or two, and then realised what Zephyrine meant when she asked me to think about the 'things that are actually happening around me'.
