AARON SHROVA

A knock disturbed me as I looked through paperwork.

"Alpha Aaron, Luna Sana seeks to speak with you," my guard said.

"Let her in," I told him.

Soon after, she stepped in, regally dressed, looking at me disdainfully.

"I cannot believe after all Sophie had done for you, Aaron-"

"Your daughter tried to poison me!" I snapped, immediately annoyed.

"She loves you! You think I wanted her to marry you?! There were many suitors lined up to marry her, but she chose you."

"She said she doesn't love me," I told her, my voice lower.

"Oh, even the blind can tell that she'll do whatever it takes to make you happy, even at the cost of her own happiness," Sana spat. "Her happiness means little to hers, but oh yours..."

"True love is not abusive, emotionally or physically. She manipulated me, it is not love. She desires me, she does not love me," I blatantly replied. I leaned down to the table, placing my hands and looking up at her. "You think she ought to be alive? You must be aware of t

DEVA LOREN/ LANA ALVAREZ I was strolling through the halls when I met Aaron on the way. Landon, who was behind me, was usually quiet and only grunted when I asked him to excuse me.Aaron wanted to work with me, alone. I was stunned at first but immediately agreed. I was slacking, and moving onto my next phase was important; to make Aaron experience loss, the same type I endured."I heard we might experience famine," I said, making my tone hushed."Word does travel fast..." He trailed off."Rest assured, the councilmen told me. I know the word is not supposed to go past the grand walls of the royal home.""Thank you," he gave me a warm smile. "Rest assured I am planning to control the situation. You may inform your parents so they can control it.""Last time a famine happened...""You remember?" He did not let me finish."Yes, I do." It was around the time my pack got attacked and taken away by the Shrovas. When I think about it, I can see the dust, remember the fog, the clashing of s

AARON SHROVA"Can we talk?" I asked Deva after our guests departed. She had done more than she needed to do, withstood so much humiliation because of me, and I knew we both had a connection, the loss of someone we loved. She lost hers and was forced to marry me by the cause of duty towards her pack. Are we the same when I cowardly left mine? I continued to live like everything was in the right order while she rotted away unknown to me."I-""Do not say no, I beg of you," I pleaded. I knew that expression; she was hesitant. I, on the other hand, was desperate to fix whatever disagreement we had, to mend whatever had been broken if there was anything in the first place."Alright. Let us talk," she agreed. I smiled. "Thank you. But not out here.""We can go to the banquet hall; there's a tea party left unfinished. The tea and snacks will be cold but can be eaten regardless. Do you mind?" she offered."Not at all. I appreciate your kindness," I told her. "I would love to be there.""Hm,"

DEVA LOREN/ LANA ALVAREZ"You cannot do that!" Luna Sana yelled from behind. "You will not ridicule my daughter by reducing her to nothing."Aaron replied with a straight face. "You cannot tell me what to do in my own pack. Perhaps it has not occurred to you yet what a grave sin Sophie has committed.""I am surprised she has not been sentenced to death. I know I would do that," Alpha Cain said, smugly. What a coy man he is, and this is the only moment I can bring myself to appreciate his wickedness."That is true," a man said, and the murmuring started again."Fine, then. I would rather have Sophie back home with us than see her suffer through this," Luna Sana snarled. "I want my daughter back this instant.""Mother, no!" Sophie's loud voice was enough proof that she did not want to go with Sana."You sick child! Come back with us," Luna Sana threatened, her teeth grinding. "Or you can kiss this family goodbye.""I did what I did, and it would be unfair to walk away like a coward. I a

DEVA LOREN/ LANA ALVAREZ Lady after lady.Guest after guest. And the seats were filled. High-pitched laughter filled the air, and the little crunching of biscuits and tiny pastries could be heard."You have outdone yourself, High Consort Deva, truly," a lady in a red dress hat, her fingers clutching the cup handle through her short red gloves."I could not agree more, and in a short amount of time. Honestly, I usually take two days to plan out a tea party, and I've actually never thought of something simple and pretty like this," a noble lady added. The other women murmured in agreement."Last night did not go as planned. It would not be right to let you all depart from Moonray without a pleasant memory at least," I smiled. "Scones, anyone?" I took a tray from a maid."Oh, Lady Deva, please! A woman of honor and valor should not be doing a servant's work," the lady in sapphire spoke."No, Lady Mira. I want to do this myself. It gives me a great sense of joy," I smiled."You cannot ex

It's all good karma. The love Anna has for me— for Deva. The lines get blurry most of the time. If I never got back to Aaron, I would forget who I was completely. It is hard being in another person's body.Especially someone like Deva.I want to rewrite both of our stories, but I'll have to finish mine to figure hers out.I had to lie to Aaron. The moment he reeked of alcohol, I knew he was not in the right mind to reason. He loves Lana. He's in pain, but I suppose the love was not strong enough to fight for us. How can I trust such a love?I let him touch me, kiss me.No kiss another's body.It wasn't me
